Noel Gallagher's ex-wife Meg Mathews shares sweet throwback snap of them together as Oasis prepare for first live shows in 16 years

Noel Gallagher 's ex-wife Meg Mathews has shared a sweet throwback snap of them together, ahead of Oasis' reunion tour. The Live '25 tour will be their first since the band's acrimonious implosion and subsequent disbandment during the ill-fated Dig Out Your Soul tour in 2009. Addressing the live shows, Noel's supportive ex reminisced on Noel preparing for his first ever gig with the band. Alongside a snap of the pair on holiday, she penned: 'Noel here getting ready for the first Gig… A week tomorrow Oasis are back. 'In 1996 During their legendary Knebworth performances August 10–11, they launched huge inflatable footballs into the audience as part of their upbeat intro before launching into songs like Columbia, Acquiesce, and Supersonic.' Meg met Noel Gallagher in 1994 in London through her roommate MTV presenter Rebecca de Ruvo. Noel was dating Rebecca at the time, however, he eventually left her for Meg. The former couple, who share daughter Anais, went on to tie the knot in June 1997 in Las Vegas. However, their marriage was short-lived as they divorced just four years later. It comes after Oasis revealed they are releasing more tickets ahead of their eagerly anticipated reunion tour this summer. The iconic Britpop band have reunited for a series of stadium shows across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Japan , South Korea and North, Central and South America, commencing at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on July 4. A statement posted to the band's official website on Wednesday reads: 'As the shows are getting closer, Oasis promoters may be able to release a very limited number of additional tickets for sale once final sight lines are checked and the production is fine tuned. 'These final production releases will happen over the coming days.' Following their initial release, thousands of fans waited for hours in virtual queues to get their hands on highly coveted tickets for the band's reunion shows, only to find that prices had jumped in a 'dynamic pricing' scheme. The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has since called for Ticketmaster to change how it labels tickets and informs customers. The CMA launched an investigation into Ticketmaster in September to examine if it had engaged in 'unfair commercial practices', whether fans were given 'clear and timely' information to explain tickets could be subject to 'dynamic pricing', and if people were put under pressure to buy tickets within a short period of time. The watchdog said it was concerned that Ticketmaster, which sold more than 900,000 tickets for the Oasis gigs, may have breached consumer protection law. Downing Street has said that 'everyone deserves a fair shot at getting tickets' for music and sport events. Ticketmaster UK said in a statement that it tries to provide a 'simple, transparent and consumer-friendly' experience. Certain tickets for shows were labelled as 'platinum' and sold for nearly 2.5 times more than the standard price. However, the company did not explain these tickets do not come with any additional benefits and are located in the same area of the stadium. The CMA said this risked consumers being mislead into thinking the platinum tickets were better. Another concern listed by the watchdog was that two categories of standing tickets were listed at different prices, with the cheaper tickets sold first before the more expensive ones were released. This caused fans to wait in long queues without realising they would have to pay a higher price than expected, the CMA added. Since the opening of the investigation, Ticketmaster has made changes to some aspects of its ticket sales process, but the CMA does not currently consider these changes are sufficient to address its concerns. Hayley Fletcher, Interim Senior Director of Consumer Protection at the CMA, said: 'Fans reported problems when buying Oasis tickets from Ticketmaster and we decided those concerns warranted investigation. 'We're concerned that Oasis fans didn't get the information they needed or may have been misled into buying tickets they thought were better than they were. 'All ticketing websites should check they are complying with the law and treating their customers fairly. When businesses get it right, consumers benefit – and that's the best outcome for everyone.' Oasis last year blamed its management for the dynamic pricing fiasco. The band said it was 'not aware' the system would be used and that the decision was instead made during meetings between Ticketmaster, promoters and management. This is despite the fact that Debbie Gwyther, 40, the girlfriend of frontman Liam, manages him. A statement by the band said: 'As for the well reported complaints many buyers had over the operation of dynamic ticketing: it needs to be made clear that Oasis leave decisions on ticketing and pricing entirely to their promoters and management, and at no time had any awareness that dynamic pricing was going to be used. 'While prior meetings between promoters, Ticketmaster and the band's management resulted in a positive ticket sale strategy, which would be a fair experience for fans, including dynamic ticketing to help keep general ticket prices down as well as reduce touting, the execution of the plan failed to meet expectations. 'All parties involved did their utmost to deliver the best possible fan experience, but due to the unprecedented demand this became impossible to achieve.' In a statement, a spokesman for Ticketmaster UK said: 'At Ticketmaster, we strive to provide the best ticketing platform through a simple, transparent and consumer-friendly experience. We welcome the CMA's input in helping make the industry even better for fans.'

Anais Gallagher hits back at nepo baby accusations - but admits that her social media success was helped by her Oasis icon dad Noel

Anais Gallagher has hit back at those branding her a nepo baby in an impassioned interview. Speaking to Hello! magazine, the influencer, 24, thanked her Oasis icon father Noel, 57, for the 'financial stability' he gave her early in life, but insisted she had paved out her own success. She said: 'There are a lot more dangerous industries in which nepotism is around – look at Donald Trump 's sons. 'I would be far more concerned with people making legislation than an actor wanting to help out their daughter who wants to be an actress. 'All my privilege and, in quotation marks, "luck" has come from my financial stability – not my dad's fame.' The model, who Noel had with his first wife Meg Mathews just a year before their divorce in 2001, suggested that children of singers were more likely to come under fire over nepotism than those with parents successful in other professions. 'I went to school with a lot of very wealthy people who probably had the exact same amount of privilege as me, but they wouldn't get called a nepo baby because their dad's a lawyer or a politician. 'My dad paid for my private education, he paid for my university degree. I was given money to live on so I didn't have to get a job when I was at university. 'If I needed a new camera, he would buy me a new camera to help with my studies – all of those things made my life so much easier than my friends who had to struggle whilst they were studying. 'But I never wanted to be a musician, so him writing Wonderwall never really helped me out. But him having money? Yes.' Anais boasts 267,000 followers on her Instagram account but accepted that she owes at least part of her rapid rise to her rock legend father. 'You have to look at social media as fun,' she said. 'I think I'm in a really unique position in that I never decided I wanted to be an influencer. 'I posted on my Instagram as a normal teenager would, and then, because of who my dad was, initially, I got a lot of followers. I try to navigate social media exactly the same way as my friends who would have a private account of 100 people following it. 'My biggest criticism of certain influencers is that their feed feels like a magazine.' Of her famous dad, who is getting ready to reunite with brother Liam this summer for the first time in more than 15 years, Anais said: 'With my family, what you see is what you get. They are really hard-working people. 'With my dad, I would always go to him for help or advice – it's very funny that a rock star from the 90s is like the most level-headed person I know. He's definitely the guiding force in my life.' The influencer's candid words come after she proudly supported Callum Scott Howells at the press night of his play Ghosts at The Lyric Hammersmith in London last month. The model was the epitome of chic in a pink silk slip dress which she teamed with a knitted cardigan. Anais, who has been romantically linked to the It's A Sin star, also 25, since 2023, completed the look with red leather clutch and brown heels. The stunner accentuated her dainty features with glamorous make-up and wore her long blonde tresses in loose bouncy curls. The play stars the Welsh actor in the reimagined Henrik Ibsen classic as Oz who 'returns to the family home for the grand unveiling, he has ambitions of his own, ambitions that threaten to unravel their family's most tightly kept secrets'. Callum previously confirmed he identifies as queer, telling Pink News: 'I've always been happy to say to people. So for me, it was just part of it. 'I wouldn't like to speak for anyone else on that matter. But for me it was kind of: "It is what it is".' Anais had been spending quality time with Callum in the wake of her reported split from her long-term boyfriend Julius Roberts. She was in a relationship with the farmer for three years after they got together two days before Christmas in 2019. But a source revealed they had 'ended their relationship' in late 2022 and she was moving back up to London, after splitting her time between the city and his family farm in Dorset.
