Megan Thee Stallion Will Drop An Anime Series On Amazon Prime Video
Megan Thee Stallion/My Hero Academia Leon Bennett/FilmMagic, GETTY/ Studio Bones One of the highest-profile musicians in the world, Megan Thee Stallion, will branch into a new form of media soon enough, and Amazon Prime Video will help her do it. Stallion spoke at a panel at DreamCon in Houston, dressed up in Yoruichi Shihōin from Bleach cosplay, announced that she would have an anime series released on Amazon Prime Video. "You ain't never seen an anime like this ever in your life,' she said but offered no details other than the fact that she collaborated with The Boondocks' Carl Jones for the project. Even with no details, it would not be safe to assume this will simply be a series that's a fictionalization of Stallion's life or music career. The reason all this is not as random as it sounds is the fact that Stallion is a huge anime fan, from her outfits to her song lyrics to her extensive knowledge of the genre, which all led to the creation of this series, whatever it may be. If there are no further details on the show, it's not clear how far off it may be if nothing is ready to be shared, not even a concept, much less footage. But the fact that Stallion was making an anime series was revealed seven months ago, so it may be somewhat far along in production. I'm not sure what an anime that we've 'never seen like this in your life' may consist of, as that's a pretty broad range, but at the very least, we know this likely means a whole lot to Stallion, given her interest in the genre. Previously, she's said that My Hero Academia is one of her favorites, and she's cosplayed as characters from the show (see above). There is skepticism in the anime community about the project coming from Stallion, where this would be a huge departure from her music career, but she has the resources to expand, and we'll have to see how this plays out. It's a little surprising that her show is landing on Amazon Prime Video rather than Netflix or Crunchyroll, as those two usually grab most animation/anime projects, but who knows what the behind-the-scenes reasoning may be for that. Megan Thee Stallion just officially kicked off Hot Girl Summer in Miami at Swim Week
Talk about bringing the heat. Megan Thee Stallion channeled a supermodel Thursday night, strutting in her very first Paraiso Miami Swim Week at the tents set up at Collins Park in Miami Beach. The 'Savage' singer, who was last in town promoting her Chicas Divertidas Tequila at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, wasn't just making a celebrity appearance. The 30-year-old stunner just launched her own bathing suit line conveniently named after her 2019 breakthrough hit, 'Hot Girl Summer.' Models of all shapes and sizes were sent down the runway in styles hotter than Kendall in August, from bright colored string bikinis to shimmery, bare-all maillots and cute mini dresses with spaghetti straps. The star of the evening eventually showed to cheers, rocking a Space Age silver two piece suit, accessorized by skyscraper heels and a giant, untamed wig. 'Thank you to my team for making my first runway show be so special and amazing!' the Houston rapper wrote on an Instagram carousel of fabulousness. 'Thank you to all my beautiful models for showcasing my collection so beautifully with lots of positive energy. I can't wait to keep growing in this space I'm so excited for what's to come!' While the website includes audio from a witness claiming Megan's shooter was female, Megan's team says Lanez and his lawyers are seeking to confuse the public with previously-released details they are claiming as new. 'Tory Lanez's team can't keep a story straight,' Megan's attorney Alex Spiro told Daily Mail in a statement Thursday afternoon. 'They continue to rehash old evidence from trial and re-package it as new information to desperately sway public opinion. She believes Lanez should be set free based off his conviction 'on a flawed, incomplete story full of contradictions, missing evidence, and straight-up lies. Rep. Luna added: 'Police reports, Megan's own words, and expert analysis show: Tory didn't fire the gun— if anything he tried to stop the conflict.' Spiro said that it was 'embarrassing that Florida Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna is integrating herself into the California criminal justice system for click-bait. 'Instead, she should be focused on serving her own constituents in Florida rather than chasing celebrities.'
