Virgin River season 7 set for 'major format change' as Netflix makes huge shake-up

Virgin River fans will see a shift in the story Netflix has revealed that season seven of Virgin River is going to see some big changes, reports the Daily Express. The forthcoming outing, which recently wrapped filming, was mostly filmed in Vancouver, Canada with a pitstop in Mexico - a detail which is likely to raise eyebrows about what's really going on. ‌ Given the show is called Virgin River and set in the titular location, and its surrounding areas, it's going to be something of a change. ‌ The romantic drama has rarely departed from its location and it's not clear why there's been a shift, however, it could be that newlyweds Jack Sheridan (played by Martin Henderson) and Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) are honeymooning down south of the border. But this visit to Mexico could also see some more twists and turns thrown in the show, which is known for its fair share of drama. Get Netflix free with Sky from £15 Sky Get the deal here Product Description Netflix previously teased some details about the upcoming episodes, with Virgin River showrunner Patrick Sean Smith saying: 'Season seven will find Mel and Jack taking their first steps into marriage as they start to plan for and build a life and family together. 'Meanwhile, Doc and Hope will work together to protect the clinic and the integrity of the town from outsiders.' ‌ This begs the question of who these outsiders will be and if they're coming from Mexico or somewhere closer to home. In amongst this, the new season will see Jack and Mel taking their next steps as a married couple as they hope to start a family. They were left in limbo after it looked like they could finally become parents after much heartbreak, including Mel suffering a baby loss. ‌ Despite being in the honeymoon phase as newlyweds, the pair will face obstacles as they run the farm together. Moreover, new faces will be joining the cast for season seven, including The Vampire Diaries' Sara Canning as former police officer Victoria, who was shot in the line of duty and is now serving as an investigator for the state medical board. ‌ Another new addition to Virgin River is Riverdale and Daybreak's Cody Kearsley as Clay, a rough-around-the-edges young man who's worked the rodeo circuit in the past. Clay and his younger sister grew up in foster care, but he's not seen her since they were teens and he'll be desperately trying to find her. Many of the major cast members will be reprising their roles, including Tim Matheson, Annette O'Toole, Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Zibby Allen, Sarah Dugdale, Marco Grazzini, Kai Bradbury, and Kandyse McClure. ‌ The Mexico filming news comes after Netflix announced the fate of beloved series, confirming it's been renewed for season eight, ahead of its seventh series premiere. Virgin River has become the streaming platform's longest-running, live-action scripted series, outlasting the likes of both Orange Is The New Black and Grace and Frankie. ‌ In a statement to Netflix's Tudum, Smith said: "On behalf of myself and the whole Virgin River family, we're eternally grateful to Netflix and to the fans for allowing us to continue on this journey with these beloved characters.' Season eight will comprise of another 10 episodes, so fans have plenty of twists and turns to look forward to. There's going to be a wait for season eight, given the seventh series only just finished filming and is going to be going into post-production. ‌ Sadly, season seven doesn't have a release date as yet, with Breckenridge previously posting an Instagram poll asking followers to speculate on whether the show would premiere in 2025 or not. She also shared a cryptic video in which she showed off her costume, suggesting Mel would be getting back to nursing again. Virgin River first premiered pre-pandemic back in 2019, loosely based on the novels by Robin Carr, The show has gone on to become a smash hit thanks to its sweet and gripping storylines, carving out its own storylines away from the source material.

Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher performed at Heaton Park with their Oasis bandmates last night and the crowd included Mel B, her husband Rory McPhee and some of her family Newlyweds Melanie Brown and Rory McPhee were among the fans at Oasis ' latest gig at Heaton Park. It had been rumoured that the couple would 'snub' a honeymoon abroad this week for the chance to see the reunited band together. Former Spice Girls member Mel, 50, and hairstylist Rory, 37, celebrated a week of marriage yesterday after exchanging vows in a wedding ceremony last week. They tied the knot at St Paul's Cathedral in London last Saturday, with them surrounded by family and friends at their nuptials. ‌ A week on from their wedding, they were at Oasis' gig in Manchester last night. The band, which includes brothers Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher, took to the stage at Heaton Park for the second of their five gigs there. ‌ Mel and Rory, who are thought to have been together since 2018, were joined at the concert this weekend by her eldest child, Phoenix Brown, 26. The trio attended the gig alongside actor Christian Cooke, 37, who is Mel's cousin. Melanie met Rory through Christian, whose acting credits include films like Cemetery Junction (2010) and the newly released Disney+ miniseries Rematch. He's reportedly been close pals with Rory since they were in school. ‌ The group documented their trip to Heaton Park on Instagram. Mel, Rory, Phoenix, and Christian have each shared posts from the experience, giving their respective followers an insight into their time at the concert together. It included Mel sharing footage of herself sitting on Rory's shoulders as Oasis performed Wonderwall during the gig. The couple were seen singing along to the song as Phoenix and Christian, who were standing beside Rory, did the same. ‌ Mel opted to upload the video on her Instagram Story without a caption. Her husband Rory however told his followers when he posted it on his page on the platform earlier today: "Fun night with the fam at @oasis Heaton park." Christian shared a series of posts from the crowd last night. It included him telling fans that he had previously watched Oasis perform at the same venue 17 years ago, with him saying in his post that it was "good to be back". He also uploaded footage of himself and Phoenix enjoying the band's performance of Rock 'n' Roll Star whilst the family were at the concert. The pair were seen singing and dancing in the crowd at Heaton Park during the song. ‌ More recently, Christian posted a video of the group travelling together in the back of a car. The actor was seen flicking through an Oasis magazine on the way whilst Mel spoke to Phoenix, who had some sweets for the journey. Phoenix has also posted about the experience. She shared a selfie of herself, her mother Mel and her cousin Christian. Tagging them in the photo yesterday, she wrote: "Oasis with the gang." Whilst at the concert, Mel bumped into fellow singer Rick Astley. She shared a photo of them posing together backstage at the venue. Rick also took a photo with actor Orlando Bloom, who was also in the crowd at the gig, too.
