Devil Wears Prada fans are only just making shocking discovery about Meryl Streep's iconic look

It was recently announced that the sequel to the beloved Devil Wears Prada movie would be hitting theaters on May 26, 2026. And as fans gear up to see one of their favorite comfort movies bring back its star-studded cast for a second part, it appears as though they're feeling nostalgic. Many fans have been digging up old videos of Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway discussing their time working on the film, and the recent rediscovering of a Hathaway interview has left them shocked. In a resurfaced interview with Variety, Hathaway takes a look back at some of her most famous scenes in her extensive filmography and of course a scene from The Devil Wears Prada comes up. Hathaway watches as her character, Andy, speaks to Streep's character Miranda Priestly - but in the middle of reminiscing on how she wanted to be a 'sponge' for Streep, Hathaway pauses on a still of her. 'Look at that wig,' she said. She goes on to speak about Roy J. Helland (Streep's makeup artist and hair stylist) but fans seem to have blocked the rest of the interview out as they couldn't get past the realization that Streep is in fact wearing a wig throughout the movie. The clip soon made its way to Reddit, where users shared their shock. Fans were shocked to learn that Streep was wearing a wig in the film 'That was a WIG???' the original poster wrote along with the clip of Hathaway complimenting the wig. 'Holy cow,' another Redditor wrote at the revelation. 'When I first found out it was a wig I was also stunned,' another added. 'This is what quality hair pieces look like.' But other users were a little less surprised and even pointed out that actresses wearing wigs in movies is a pretty common practice. 'A shocking amount of any hair you see looking beautiful on screen or stage or spread is a wig, or otherwise "synthetic/fake,"' one Redditor shared. 'It's remarkable what a skilled craftsperson can do with a wig.' 'Movie hair is almost always a wig, wigs look better on camera (if they're well done that is) because they always have more volume,' another user confirmed. Fans also revealed that actresses wearing wigs in movies is a common practice to achieve the right volume for the big screen Regardless, fans were taken aback at how well-suited the wig was for both Streep and the character she played. 'I would never have guessed. Exceptional,' one user wrote. 'To me, it's also how luscious that silver looks on her. It feels so believable that it's her own hair because it goes so gorgeously with her face and skin and the Miranda Priestly aura,' a user shared. 'She looks even better with the silver than she does with her natural blonde to me.' The only thing left to see is how Miranda Priestly will make her legendary comeback - and just what wig she'll be wearing.

Has Sabrina Carpenter bagged a role in Mamma Mia 3? Franchise producer spills the beans!

The 2000s rom-com decade gave us everything and more. A shining gem of the lot is of course, top-tier cult classic Mamma Mia! The 2008 release features Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried in easily one of their most career-defining roles, seamlessly channeling that effervescent mother-daughter chemistry. Exactly a decade later, came the sequel — a moment in time. Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again took the story further ahead, with promises of a threequel periodically floating in and out of pop culture conscience. Off-late though, the chatter around it has definitely gotten louder, enough to coerce a response out of Amanda. In a sit down chat with Entertainment Tonight, Amanda Seyfried was finally cornered into answering the one pressing question in every romance and musical loyalist's mind: "What's cooking when it comes to Mamma Mia 3?". Amanda, in her trademark goofy style went, " Mamma Mia 3 is happening. It's going to happen in Greece, hopefully before 20...38". A post shared by Entertainment Tonight (@entertainmenttonight) Well safe to say, this isn't the answer anyone was looking for. But if franchise producer Judy Craymer's Deadline interview is to be taken into consideration, the faith in Mamma Mia's (and everything it stands for) global appeal, as she sees it, is undying. And cult pop group ABBA, whose music represents the melodious core of Mamma Mia, is essentially the tying force. Speaking about it in context of the global appeal, she said, "The Sabrina Carpenter generation and Dua Lipa's and then even Pink's generation are all influenced by the (ABBA) songs". When pointedly asked if Sabrina was then, being considered as an addition to the franchise, Judy envisioned, "She'd be a goddess or some relation who would look very much like Meryl Streep". But interestingly, the more popular narrative around Sabrina's Mamma Mia stint being dreamt up by fans, involves her playing daughter to Amanda. But the pop star being only about 13 years junior to the 39-year old actor, would the latter be game? Refreshingly, in a byte to ABC News last year, Amanda said, 'You know what? Old age makeup for me. That's what it will be…I'm an actor. I'll do it. If Sabrina Carpenter wants to play my daughter, I'll make it happen. It's fine. She's...I'm a big fan'. Praying to the musical Gods to make this internet pipeline dream, happen!

Sabrina Carpenter being lined up to star in third Mamma Mia movie based on songs of ABBA

Sabrina Carpenter is being eyed up for huge role in Mamma Mia 3. It's no secret that the singer, 26, is a big ABBA fan, having previously performed their songs on her Short n' Sweet tour, as well as the band being one of her top artists on Spotify. Now, Sabrina could star in the sequel, 17 years after the original film was released, which featured Hollywood actors including Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan. Producer Judy Craymer, who has finished a script for a third movie, said: 'She'd be a goddess or some relation who would look very much like Meryl Streep.' Speaking about the project, Judy told Hollywood news site Deadline: 'Well, we know what we want to do with the movie, and it will happen. 'And I mean, we brought together this amazing group of movie stars that were all connected through it, and huge friendships evolved.' Amanda Seyfried, 39, who plays Sophie in the films, previously said she could see Sabrina playing her daughter. She said: 'Old age make-up for me. If Sabrina Carpenter wants to play my daughter, I'll make it happen. It's fine. I'm a big fan.' The two-time Grammy winner is throwing herself into work after ending her year-long romance with Oscar-nominated actor Barry Keoghan last December. 'They are both young and career-focused, so they've decided to take a break,' an insider told People at the time. Sabrina and the 32-year-old Irishman - who starred in her Please Please Please music video last June - awkwardly attended the Met Gala separately on May 4. Making things more complicated, Barry fathered two-year-old son Brando during his two-year relationship with dental nurse Alyson Kierans, which ended in 2023. On Wednesday, Miley Cyrus gave Carpenter and Chappell Roan their 'Flowers.' 'I thought Sabrina and Chappell both at the Grammys this year,' the 32-year-old pop star said on The Zane Lowe Show. 'It was over the top pro singing. I'm just big fans and I just support those girls all the way.' Miley (born Destiny) knows first-hand 'the courage that it takes and I know that the nerves get in the way.' 'I know that both of them were probably choking on their heart because it's so much pressure, and they just nailed it,' Cyrus added. 'And Sabrina at SNL 50 blew my mind.' The Pennsylvania-born blonde bombshell's single Taste has spent 38 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 - tying it with Please Please Please as her second-longest-running hit. Sabrina's biggest hit remains Espresso having charted for 57 weeks, it's currently at No. 21. Carpenter is next scheduled to headline the Spanish music festival Primavera Sound, which is held at Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona on June 6. The Nonsense Christmas star will then resume her $33.2M-grossing, 72-date Short n' Sweet Tour on July 5-6 at Hyde Park in London. Sabrina has been a singer for the last decade, but her career got a major boost in 2023 while serving opening duties for Taylor Swift. Carpenter - who gets 65.1 million monthly listeners on Spotify - originally taught herself how to play piano and guitar with YouTube tutorials. The SKIMS brand ambassador got her first break starring in the Disney Channel shows Disney Fairies, Sofia the First, and Girl Meets World.

Should Alexis Bledel Get an Emmy Nomination for Brief Handmaid's Tale Finale Cameo? Hulu's Submission Sparks Debate

Hulu has officially submitted its Emmy entries for the final season of The Handmaid's Tale. One submission already raising attention is Alexis Bledel in the guest drama actress category for her appearance in the series finale, 610 - The Handmaid's Tale. However, this entry may face a rule issue. A new Emmy guideline disqualifies actors from guest categories if they have previously been nominated in lead or supporting roles for the same show. Alexis Bledel was nominated for supporting actress in 2018 after appearing in seven episodes that season. Hulu hopes the Television Academy will consider her case and possibly reclassify her submission to supporting drama actress before voting begins on June 12. The updated Emmy rules aim to clarify what counts as a guest role. According to the guideline, any actor previously nominated in lead or supporting roles for a show cannot be submitted as a guest, even if they appear briefly. This has already caused confusion. For example, Meryl Streep was ruled ineligible for guest consideration for Only Murders in the Building because of her previous nomination, even though she appeared in just four episodes. Paul Rudd, who plays a new character in the same series, was nearly eligible for the guest category but was in one episode too many. Many industry voices argue that the rules don't account for cases where an actor returns in a small role after a long absence. Some believe the backlash may lead to future updates to the Emmy rules. Hulu has made 36 Emmy submissions for The Handmaid's Tale, which ended its six-season run on May 26. The series has earned 76 nominations and 15 wins over the years, including the historic win for Outstanding Drama Series in its first season, the first for a streaming platform. Lead actress Elisabeth Moss has been submitted again and also for directing the second-to-last episode, Execution. Other acting submissions include Bradley Whitford, Max Minghella, and O-T Fagbenle for supporting actor. In the supporting actress race, Hulu submitted Yvonne Strahovski, Samira Wiley, and Ann Dowd. In addition to Bledel, Hulu submitted Cherry Jones (episode 602) and D'Arcy Carden (episode 608) in the guest drama actress category.
