Strong winds and dust storms continue across Kuwait
KUWAIT CITY, June 4: Acting Director of the Meteorology Department, Dharar Al-Ali, confirmed Wednesday that Kuwait will continue to experience strong northwesterly winds, with speeds sometimes exceeding 50 kilometers per hour. These winds are expected to raise dust and reduce horizontal visibility, particularly in exposed areas. In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Ali said weather charts and numerical models show that the country has been under the influence of strong winds since the morning. These winds are not only causing dust storms but also raising sea waves to heights of over six feet. He attributed the ongoing weather conditions to an extension of a surface low-pressure system accompanied by a hot and dry air mass. A relative decrease in wind speeds is expected by Thursday afternoon, he added. Al-Ali noted that the general weather will remain hot during the day and warm to hot at night, with dust expected to gradually settle overnight. Daytime temperatures are forecast to range between 40 and 43 degrees Celsius, while nighttime lows are expected to range from 27 to 30 degrees Celsius. He urged citizens and residents, especially those with asthma or allergies, to wear protective masks. He also advised beachgoers to take precautions due to high waves, and motorists to remain cautious of sudden drops in visibility and potential sand accumulation on highways.

Kuwait affected by northwesterly winds causing dust storms
KUWAIT- Kuwait has been affected by northwesterly winds, which are active and sometimes strong, exceeding 60 kilometers per hour, causing dust storms and reducing horizontal visibility to less than 1,000 meters, said Acting Director of the Meteorology Department, Dherar Al-Ali. In remarks to KUNA Tuesday, Al-Ali noted that wind activity is expected to continue with the possibility of dust storms on Wednesday at varying intervals, with relative calm prevailing in wind speed from Thursday afternoon due to the country being under the influence of an extension of a surface low pressure system accompanied by a hot and dry air mass. He urged citizens and residents with asthma and allergies to wear masks when going out, warning beachgoers to be careful of waves as high as seven feet, and warned highway users to beware of sudden reduced visibility. Health and Safety Alert as Kuwait to Get Dusty
KUWAIT CITY, Jun 3: Strong northwesterly winds have been sweeping across the country since early Tuesday morning, triggering widespread dust storms and severely reducing visibility, according to the Director of the Meteorology Department, Dharar Al-Ali. Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Ali reported that wind speeds have exceeded 60 kilometers per hour at times, particularly in open areas. These powerful gusts have stirred up dust and sand, reducing horizontal visibility to less than 1,000 meters, and in some places, even to near zero. 'These active winds have also caused significant sand drift and accumulation on roads,' he said, warning motorists to exercise caution. 'Wave heights have risen above six feet along coastal areas.' The unsettled weather is expected to persist through Wednesday, with intermittent dust storms continuing throughout the day. However, a gradual easing of wind speeds is forecast to begin Thursday afternoon as a surface low-pressure system, accompanied by a hot, dry air mass, moves across the region. Daytime conditions over the coming days are expected to remain hot and dusty, while nighttime weather will be hot to warm, with dust levels anticipated to gradually decrease. According to Al-Ali, maximum daytime temperatures are expected to range between 40 and 43 degrees Celsius, while nighttime lows are anticipated to hover between 27 and 30 degrees Celsius. He advised residents, especially those with asthma or allergies, to wear protective masks when venturing outdoors. Beachgoers are cautioned about wave heights reaching up to 7 feet, and highway drivers are urged to remain vigilant due to the risk of sudden drops in visibility. Stay tuned for updates as the Meteorology Department continues to monitor weather developments.

Kuwait to experience hot, dusty weather with strong winds this week

Speaking to KUNA, Al-Ali said weather charts and numerical models indicate that on June 3 and 4, the country will be impacted by active, fast northwesterly winds, ranging from 20 to 65 kilometers per hour. These winds are likely to stir up dust and reduce horizontal visibility to below 1,000 meters in some areas. Daytime conditions are forecast to be hot and dusty, with maximum temperatures expected to range between 39 and 42 degrees Celsius. Nighttime weather will remain warm to hot, with moderate to active winds blowing at speeds of 20 to 50 kilometers per hour. 51°C Heat and Dust to Sweep Across Kuwait
KUWAIT CITY, May 25: The Meteorology Department forecasts hot and dusty weather for Sunday and Monday, with moderate to active northwesterly winds reaching up to 45 km/h, likely to cause dust storms in open areas and limited impact on residential zones. Acting Director Dharar Al-Ali told KUNA that Kuwait is currently under the influence of the Indian monsoon low-pressure system, bringing with it an extremely hot air mass. Over the weekend, temperatures are expected to range between 45°C and 48°C across most land areas. By Tuesday through Thursday, the heat is expected to intensify further as the air depression deepens, pushing maximum temperatures to soar between 48°C and 51°C, accompanied by light to moderate northwesterly winds.
