According to the Royal Bahamas Police Force, officers found a woman 'unresponsive with visible signs of injuries' in the engine room of the vessel shortly after 1 p.m. on July 3, which was docked at Harbour Island. Police said the woman was missing for a short period of time before she was discovered 'with the male suspect present," police wrote in a statement posted on Facebook. Police believe the suspect — a 39-year-old Mexican national — attempted suicide and was "suffering from severe injuries to his arms." A local doctor boarded the vessel and pronounced the woman deceased. The victim was identified by local outlet Our News and her family on Facebook as Paige Bell. 'It is with broken hearts that we share the devastating news that our beautiful Paigey's life was brutally taken from us last night,' the family wrote on July 4. 'As a family, we are doing our best to process this unimaginable loss … We will leave no stone unturned until the guilty is brought to justice. ' Police said the suspect was 'apprehended, cautioned, and taken to a nearby clinic for medical treatment.' He was arraigned on Wednesday, July 9 in the Magistrate Court, and charged with murder, police said. According to a GoFundMe page, Bell 'would have celebrated her 21st birthday on July 14th.' 'In honor of Paige, her mother has asked that we all eat red velvet cake (her favorite) on that day and share a photo in remembrance of the beautiful soul she was,' the fundraiser stated.'Paige was more than a teammate, she was family. Her radiant spirit, infectious laughter, and boundless compassion made an unforgettable impact on everyone lucky enough to know her. Whether it was long days at sea or quiet moments under the stars, she brought light and warmth wherever she went.' Bell had previously worked on the Motor Yacht Sweet Emocean until December 2024. So far, the page has raised more than $42,000. The suspect appeared in court on Wednesday, July 9 and was denied bail, Our News reported. He will return to court on November 20. 3 foreigners arrested over housebreaking cases in Bukit Timah area
SINGAPORE: Three men were arrested on Sunday (May 11) for their suspected involvement in three cases of housebreaking and theft at three private residential units in the Bukit Timah area over the past few days. Singapore police said during a media briefing on Sunday that it was alerted to the cases along Cluny Park, Dunearn Close and Eng Neo Avenue between May 9 and May 10. The three men are a 60-year-old Spanish/Colombian national, a 51-year-old Mexican national, and a 48-year-old Mexican/Colombian national. They will be charged in court on Monday. The police recovered a car, a circular power saw, an assortment of jewellery and cash of more than S$6,000 (US$4,625), 3,100 euros and US$6,400 from the three. The trio were arrested within 27 hours of the first case being reported, said the police. Two were nabbed along Jalan Kubor in the Lavender area, and the third along Tyrwhitt Road in Jalan Besar. Officers from various departments established the identities of the suspects through ground enquiries as well as with the aid of images from CCTVs and police cameras. Police said they were not ruling out the possibility of these three cases being linked to others, but added there was no evidence of a larger syndicate involved. This marks the latest in a string of landed property burglaries occurring since the middle of last year. Between early June and August 2024, 10 cases were reported in private estates around the Rail Corridor and Bukit Timah Road, with stolen items valued at S$3.85 million. Three suspects were arrested in relation to these cases, with more at large. More housebreaking cases were reported in the Holland and Pasir Panjang areas in December last year, with two suspects possibly linked to an earlier syndicate arrested. In those cases, the perpetrators were known to operate in small groups, entering Singapore on social visit passes and leaving shortly after the crime was committed. They broke into residences by scaling walls or fences. The three men arrested on Sunday will be charged with housebreaking and theft with common intention. If convicted, they may be jailed for up to 10 years and possibly fined. The police advised those who encounter an intruder or any suspicious characters in their neighbourhood to remain calm and prioritise their safety and that of their family members. They should shout to make loud noises if possible and observe and remember the suspect's clothing, physical appearance and any distinctive features. Members of the public should also take note of the suspect's direction of escape and write down the registration number of the vehicle the suspect uses.

Man found guilty of trafficking hundreds of pounds of drugs through Eastern Washington and Montana
A federal jury returned a guilty verdict in the trial of 45-year-old Luis Esquivel-Bolanos of Guerrero, Mexico on multiple drug trafficking and firearms charges. Esquivel-Bolanos (a/k/a 'Colorado') faces a maximum term of imprisonment of life in prison. He may also face removal from the United States at his sentencing in July. According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, Esquivel-Bolanos was identified as a member of a drug trafficking organization which had 'flooded' the Eastern District of Washington, including the Oroville area and the Colville Indian Reservation, with methamphetamine and fentanyl. The organization spread as far as central Montana, where many of the illegal drugs were reportedly being sold on Tribal land. The evidence at trial established that Esquivel-Bolanos helped run the organization, which used threats to maintain control over their drug-distribution activities, such as strip-searching and threatening kill a confidential informant. According to the attorney's office, on April 19, 2023, BIA, DEA, the North Central Washington Narcotics Task Force, and other federal, state, local, and Tribal law enforcement, executed a series of federal search warrants at several homes in rural Okanogan County, near Oroville, Washington. In total, investigators reportedly seized approximately 161,000 fentanyl-laced pills, 80 pounds of methamphetamine, 6 pounds of heroin, 12 firearms, and more than 2 pounds of cocaine. 'The volume of drugs removed from Eastern Washington and Montana communities, including from Tribal land, is staggering. At the time of Mr. Esquivel-Bolanos's arrest, and even now, the seizure from the Medrano-Bolanos drug trafficking organization was one of the largest ever in rural Washington. I am grateful for the tremendous law enforcement efforts by the BIA, DEA, and others, who put an end to the dangerous and threatening tactics used by Mr. Esquivel-Bolanos and his associates,' said acting U.S. Attorney Richard Barker. 'These agencies came together to address the drug trafficking occurring across many communities in Eastern Washington and Montana, including seven different Indian Reservations,' said Deputy Associate Director Tom Atkinson of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Division of Drug Enforcement. 'This investigation revealed the purposeful and specific exploitation of Indian Country by the members of this criminal network, illustrating the importance of continued vigilance and cooperation among law enforcement agencies.' 'Mr. Esquivel- Bolanos was second in command of the drug trafficking ring responsible for flooding the Oroville area and Colville Indian Reservation with deadly fentanyl and meth,' said David F. Reames, Special Agent in Charge, DEA Seattle Field Division. 'Drug traffickers who purposely prey on our tribal communities are the worst offenders, and with the help of the jury this Mexican National will be held accountable.'
