Baglietto Unveils New Superyacht Concept
Baglietto 53 meter concept What do you get when an Italian shipyard with over 165 years of shipbuilding heritage, a highly experienced Italian yacht designer, and an award-winning, NYC-based design studio that's known for creating distinctive residences, resorts, retail and workspaces throughout the world, announce a new creative partnership? The answer: The Vesta 56 superyacht concept the Baglietto shipyard just unveiled that features elegant exteriors designed by Enrico Gobbi Team for Design and a contemporary interior design by Meyer Davis. For me, one of the cool things about this concept is the way the yachting establishment—Baglietto and the Enrico Gobbi Team for Design—have embraced the fresh ideas that Meyer Davis (relative newcomers to the yachting space that are fresh off their successful debut yacht interior design Seawolf X) brings to the project. Here is the Meyer Davis-designed interior of the Vesta 56 superyacht Baglietto just unveiled 'Vesta 56 is the expression of our philosophy says Fabio Ermetto, CCO of Baglietto. 'With Enrico Gobbiʼs elegant exterior lines and the fresh, sophisticated vision of Meyer Davis, we are creating something extraordinary—an experience that speaks to beauty, innovation, and balance. We're proud to collaborate with design firms that share our passion for timeless yet contemporary style.ˮ The yacht's slender vibe is thanks to design details like ultra-thin aft deck overhangs and long runs of uninterrupted windows that are inspired by aeronautical design. In fact, according to early reports, the intent was to create a yacht defined by 'lines in movement', a sense of continuous flow and energy, even when the yacht is at anchor. Upper deck of the Vesta 56 concept by Baglietto 'The 56 meter Baglietto is characterized by a captivating design, generous spaces, and a sleek and dynamic profile,"says Enrico Gobbi. "The project brief requested for large and comfortable exterior and interior areas, without compromising the aesthetics of the yacht. For this reason, dynamic and stretched lines were chosen to reach the perfect balance between generous volumes and an elegant streamlined profile.' The interplay between exterior and interior is obviously at the center of the design philosophy. The windows are particularly tall to provide panoramic views, while sharp, sculpted elements mix with soft curves to create a distinctive exterior. 'We were inspired by the name Vesta 56 for its rich symbolism," says Gray Davis, Co-Founder of Meyer Davis. "The quiet strength of home. The comfort of sanctuary. And the enduring presence of spaces designed not just for living, but for feeling truly at home. Each material, curve, and proportion is imbued with intention to reflect that spirit. The interiors have a quiet strength that marks each space with meaning and memory.' The main deck onboard the Vesta 56 Signature spaces such as the main deck salon, dining room, and upper lounge are designed to nurture connection and comfort. Retractable glass walls are designed to blur the threshold between inside and outside. While architectural lighting and curved built-in furniture capture the changing light that is inherent onboard yachts of this size. The stylish aft deck area of the Vesta 56 concept yacht 'Embracing organic form, personal layers, and lived-in elegance, we designed the yacht to age gracefully, accumulating stories as it travels' says Will Meyer, Co-Founder of Meyer Davis. Amen to that. Watch this space.
