Ryan Coogler's Sinners was a moody, blood-soaked Southern gothic that twisted genre conventions and delivered an unexpected movie-going experience, and it became a box office hit. Now, it looks like Warner Bros. is ready to turn it into a franchise. According to trusted scooper MTTSH, Sinners 2 is in development, and I don't think that should come as a surprise considering how the first movie did with critics and audiences. The original film wrapped up most of its storylines in a satisfying way, but that mid-credits stinger cracked open a door, just wide enough, for a sequel to slip through. Set in 1992, the scene reveals that Sammie defied his father's warnings and left Mississippi behind for a new life as a bluesman in Chicago. After a gig, he's approached by two familiar faces—Stack (Michael B. Jordan, ) and Mary (one of the twin brothers played by Michael B. Jordan), the only surviving vampires from the first movie. What follows is a quiet and bittersweet scene loaded with tension as Stack tells Sammie that Smoke, their old adversary, spared his undead life on one condition: never come after Sammie. He offers to turn his cousin into a vampire, giving him a shot at immortality. But Sammie's answer is clear. He says he's "seen enough of this place." The exchange between the two is heavy with history. Before leaving, Sammie confesses that even though he's still haunted by what happened, opening night all those years ago was the greatest time of his life. Stack agrees. It was the last time he saw his brother, the last time he saw the sun, and 'the only time I ever truly felt free.' If this sequel does happen, it seems like a good move to follow Stack and Mary as there are planty of stories to tell for them in the years they've been wandering the Earth as vampires. There's a lot of room to explore what that kind of immortality means once the dust settles and the blood dries. Coogler's original film was rooted in pain, history, and a deep sense of place, all while delivering sharp genre thrills. Whether or not he returns to direct the sequel is unknown, but the world he built clearly has more stories to tell, and Warner Bros. seems ready to sink their teeth into it.

‘Sinners' Arrives On Digital Streaming This Week With Bonus Features
Michael B Jordan plays twins Smoke and Stack in "Sinners." Sinners — director Ryan Coogler's hit vampire thriller starring Michael B. Jordan — is new on digital streaming this week. Rated R, Sinners opened in theaters on April 18. The official logline for Sinners reads, 'Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.' Also written and produced by Coogler, Sinners stars Jordan as the twin brothers, Smoke and Stack. Sinners also stars Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton, Jack O'Connell, Wumni Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Miller and Delroy Lindo. According to Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment, Sinners will arrive on digital streaming via premium video on demand on Tuesday, June 3. The film will be available on several digital platforms including Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Microsoft, Movies Anywhere, Prime Video and YouTube. Sinners will be available for purchase for $24.99. 'Sinners' Sequel Rumored To Be In Development At WB
The 2025 new release Sinners was a major success in every way – financially, critically, and with moviegoers. Therefore, it may not be surprising to hear that a sequel to Sinners is rumored to be in development at Warner Bros. Ryan Coogler tackled the movie which placed a traditional vampire plot amidst the drama and tensions of two criminal brothers returning to their hometown in Mississippi in 1932. Michael B. Jordan played both of the brothers, a pair of twins, while other cast members included Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton, Jack O'Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Miller, and Delroy Lindo. While most of these characters met the kind of fate you'd expect to see in a vampire movie, there is certainly enough room for a follow-up, and that means the aforementioned sequel is a very real possibility. Although nothing is confirmed at this point, a listing on Production Weekly mentions Sinners 2 , suggesting that the film is in development. When considering the success of the film, however, and the many possibilities for expanding the story, it's a listing that does make sense. For those who've seen the film, they know that the movie features a post-credits scene where Michael B. Jordan's Stack and Hailee Steinfeld's Mary are both alive as vampires in 1992. A sequel could follow these characters in that time period, or any other moment in history between 1932 and now. Furthermore, some fans have even clamored for a prequel, one that could further track the spread of vampirism from Ireland to the southern United States. As of this writing, Sinners grossed $341 million worldwide with a $90 million budget. Its earnings led the film to become the seventh-highest-grossing film of 2025. When considering Sinners is an original IP, the accolades are even more impressive. Of course, we'll have to wait and see if a Sinners sequel even gets an official greenlight.
