The Filipino actress-beauty queen showed her face with patches on her cheek and chin, through her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, June 3. 'My unexpected Tuesday plot twist,' she captioned her post. 'Sa mukha ko pa talaga.' (It even had to be on my face.) In a succeeding post, Dee showed herself at the clinic of celebrity doctors Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho. The Miss Universe Philippines 2023 also gave a closer look at the wound on her face. 'No matter how much we love your furbabies, never underestimate dog bites!' she reminded her followers. 'Act quick.' Belo, who came to Dee's rescue, wrote in a separate post, 'We got you, Michelle!' Just last February, another celebrity fur parent, actress Alma Concepcion, shared that she and her son were bitten by their pet dog. The actress regarded the incident as a learning experience for her and her family, saying that while their dog is kind, they would refrain from cuddling him as it might prompt another biting incident. Michelle Dee gives update following dog bite
Michelle Dee gave an update after her pet dog accidentally bit her on the face. In Aubrey Carampel's report on "24 Oras," Thursday, the Sparkle star assured that it was only a freak accident with no aggression from her pet. "Her mouth was open, my face was right [beside her], kasi magkatabi kami eh. So parang naganun lang. And that's why the abrasion is actually not super deep. It was just really skin," Michelle said. Michelle reminds the public to act quickly in similar situations. "First thing is get your anti-tetanus and your rabies shots. With things like this, there are no cures, so you don't want to take the chance. I can't miss a beat and I think my next shot is tomorrow," she said. After leaving the emergency room, Michelle headed to Dr. Vicki Belo's clinic. "Dun ako nakahinga after the experts saw what happened. It should heal in the next two to three weeks," she said. Meanwhile, Michelle said that she will release a new music video for "Reyna" in celebration of pride month. "It's very camp. It's a little different from the music video that came out but still very close to my heart. And siyempre, abangan din po natin 'yung second single ko that's coming out very, very soon. Michelle Dee gets bitten by her pet in the face: 'Never underestimate dog bites!'
Michelle Dee took to social media to share that she got bitten in the face by her pet dog. On Instagram, the Kapuso actress and beauty queen shared a photo of herself with a gauze pad under her right eye and chin. In a separate post, Michelle shared a video of herself making a trip to a clinic to have her wound taken care of. "No matter how much we love your furbabies, never underestimate dog bites!" she said. "Act [quickly]." In May, two deaths occurred due to rabies infection: a man who died nine months after the bite and a woman who was bitten two months ago. In 2024, the DOH reported a total of 426 rabies-related deaths and emphasized the need for pet vaccinations and increased rabies awareness. While rabies infection is 100% deadly, it's also 100% preventable by getting pre- or post-exposure prophylaxis for rabies. If you are bitten or scratched by an animal, wash the wound first with soap and running water before heading to the nearest health center or Animal Bite Treatment Center. Following Rachel Gupta's MGI resignation, Michelle Dee says of CJ Opiaza: 'It's her time!'
Michelle Dee took to social media to air her support for CJ Opiaza, who is set to take over the Miss Grand International 2024 title. In an Instagram Stories post, the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 shared a teaser reel of CJ posted by Miss Grand Philippines. "It's her time! The queen that you are!" Michelle said in the caption, tagging the soon-to-be Miss Grand International 2024. CJ's fellow Filipina beauty queens also aired their support by commenting on the reel. "Finally! You did it [CJ]. Congratulations! First MGI Queen from [the] Philippines!" Samantha Bernardo said. "Knew it since the start! Our queen [CJ]," Dia Mate said. On Wednesday, Rachel Gupta announced she is resigning from her title. Shortly after, the Miss Grand International organization released an official statement, terminating the beauty queen's title. MGI founder Nawat Itsaragrisil also spotlighted CJ, saying "Real queen coming soon." Following her announcement, the Indian beauty queen shared a 56-minute tell-all video on Thursday morning detailing the reasons for her resignation. Rachel said she has put so much effort and hard work into her dream of winning the Miss Grand International crown. But "all I've gotten in return is constant harassment, mental torture, mistreatment, and it's on a systemic level. I don't think they can ever change this."
