Sonakshi Sinha, Jyotika to act in Ashwiny Iyer's courtroom drama; Filming begins in Mumbai
Sonakshi Sinha and Jyotika will face off in a courtroom in their upcoming film. The movie is a powerful legal drama directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari. The film has been in development for some time. It was originally planned with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kiara Advani in the lead roles, but the casting changed as things didn't go as planned. 'Because it didn't align with [our] timelines and creative direction," a source told Mid-Day. Earlier this year, the makers decided to rework the script and give the project a fresh start. That's when Sonakshi Sinha came on board. According to the source stated to Midday, 'Sonakshi came on board after extensive look tests and readings. She brings a grounded intensity to the role that impressed the creative team." Filming Begins in Mumbai The shoot for the film started just last week in Mumbai. Courtroom sets have been built in areas like Malvani, Madh Island, and Vile Parle. The film's story revolves around a legal case and explores themes of personal trauma and social justice. Sonakshi's Role Sonakshi Sinha will play a strong and determined lawyer in the film. Jyotika Joins Soon Jyotika is expected to start filming in mid-June and will also have a powerful and impactful role. 'The script is gritty and is not your typical courtroom drama. Film Title and Schedule The film doesn't have a title yet, but it's already looking promising. The team hopes to finish shooting by the end of the year if everything goes as planned. Sonakshi's Recent Work Sonakshi Sinha recently played dual roles of a mother and daughter in Sanjay Leela Bhansali 's period drama Heeramandi. 2024 Release In 2024, she appeared briefly in the sci-fi action film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan with Akshay Kumar , Tiger Shroff, and Prithviraj Sukumaran. What Rasha Thadani, Daughter Of Raveena Tandon, Said About Nepotism: 'You're Out If...'
Last Updated: In an earlier interview, Rasha Thadani revealed that her childhood was rooted in the performing arts, but her family prioritised education. Rasha Thadani, daughter of Raveena Tandon and Anil Thadani, made her big Bollywood debut with Azaad alongside Aaman Devgan. While the glamour of showbiz may seem like a natural fit for a star kid, Rasha's journey to the screen was grounded in discipline and academics, thanks to her parents. In an earlier interview with Midday, Rasha revealed that her childhood was rooted in the performing arts, but her family prioritised education. 'Growing up, performing arts was my love. After school, I'd go for dance lessons and return home by 9 pm," she recalled. However, her father Anil Thadani was quick to remind her of the balance required. 'Once I came home with B grade in a test, and dad was like, 'See, this is what happens [when you focus on other things].' My parents were keen that I complete my studies." Raveena, too, ensured that her children were not raised in the shadow of her stardom. 'My mom always kept us away from her stardom. We saw her movies after we turned 13. She wanted us to live like anyone else," Rasha said. With her film debut, Rasha has naturally stepped into the spotlight and is aware of the conversations around nepotism. While acknowledging the privileges that come with being a star kid, she believes talent is what truly matters. 'The audience is king. No matter where you come from, if you don't perform, you are out. There is no saving you from that," she said. 'The biggest stars right now, whether it's Ranbir Kapoor or Alia Bhatt, are talented." Reflecting on the changes in media culture, Rasha noted how the paparazzi scene has evolved. 'When I was growing up, pap culture wasn't as intense as it is today. When I used to go to school, there were no paps. Now when I see star kids going to the same school, I feel bad because these kids don't want to be bombarded." Rasha is stepping into big shoes, but she embraces it with humility and admiration. 'I take a lot of pride in the work mom has done," she smiled. First Published:

Moscow Rejects Ceasefire Proposal as Zelensky Accuses Washington of Lacking Seriousness
Ahmed Emam Tensions over the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war have intensified as Moscow rejected a 30-day ceasefire proposal supported by Ukraine and several European nations. The Kremlin insists that military operations can proceed concurrently with negotiations, further complicating efforts to de-escalate the conflict. Dr. Assef Melhem, Director of the GSM Center for Research and Studies, commented on the matter during an appearance on the 'Midday' program on Alqahera News Channel. He emphasized that the ceasefire initiative has sparked significant debate, with Russia viewing the proposal as a tactical opportunity for Ukraine to regroup and ramp up drone production—an outcome Moscow seeks to prevent through continued military pressure. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky harshly criticized the United States for what he described as a lack of serious commitment to ending the conflict. 'If Washington truly wants to stop the killing of our troops, it must impose new and strict sanctions on Russia,' Zelensky stated. However, Melhem noted that the current U.S. administration appears reluctant to escalate economic measures against Moscow. According to Melhem, former U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed reservations about additional sanctions, arguing that while they might reduce Russia's revenue, they are unlikely to yield meaningful results on the battlefield. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has reportedly offered the option of direct negotiations with Kyiv but has resisted the idea of a temporary ceasefire. The Kremlin believes that any lull in fighting could benefit Ukraine strategically, a scenario Russia is keen to avoid. Melhem concluded by highlighting a growing, albeit informal, alignment between Moscow's stance and certain political voices in the West, including Trump. This alignment favors reaching a comprehensive memorandum of understanding between Russia and Ukraine over a temporary ceasefire, which some believe may only prolong the conflict without paving the way for a lasting political resolution. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies

While the ceasefire has been announced, the situation is not totally normal between the two countries. A source told the tabloid, 'Despite the ceasefire, things remain sensitive and the situation is dynamic. So, everyone is wondering whether this would be a good time to take their projects on floors. The team of King has been working towards May 16, which is when they're expected to begin filming.
