Mika Salamanca, Brent Manalo lip-sync iconic Claudine Barretto, Rico Yan lines in TikTok video

Mika Salamanca and Brent Manalo are oozing with chemistry in their new TikTok video! The "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition" Big Winner duo lip-synced iconic lines from Claudine Barretto and Rico Yan in the 1996 film "Radio Romance." Mika and Brent perfectly captured Claudine and Rico's lovers quarrel, a dynamic that they showed a glimpse of when they discussed an issue in Kapampangan while inside the PBB house. "Look you asked me to join you, OK? Naglayas tayo. Now you don't even know where we're going?" Mika delivered Claudine's line. "Nauubusan na tayo ng gasolina kanina ka pa drive ng drive!" "Will you just shut up and let me think for a minute!" Brent said, lip-syncing Rico's voice. "Look this the first time I'm going to do this OK?" The video ended with Brent saying, "Oh what's wrong na naman with you?" In the caption, Mika joked that this is what they are like every day. As of writing, the video has fetched 2.5 million views and thousands of likes and comments on TikTok. Previously, Mika and Brent reenacted a movie scene between Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz. Mika and Brent, known as the BreKa duo inside Bahay ni Kuya, are being shipped by fans as MikBrent. They are the first Big Duo winners of PBB. —MGP, GMA Integrated News

Local Bluebirds production wins awards at community theatre festival

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A local production won several awards at the province's community theatre festival which took place in Fort St. John this year. Over 100 performers travelled from around B.C. to put on their productions during the week-long festival , including entries from five different theatre companies alongside the host, and they were then all judged by an adjudicator. Stage North Theatre Society's production Bluebirds netted four awards during the festival's ceremony and banquet on July 12th. They included the runner-up prize for best play, the Burnaby Award. Emry Mika secured the Bill Elliott Award for Best Director and Stevi MacGillivray was given the Best Actor in a Female Role. Rounding out the winners for Bluebirds was Heather Truscott, who won Best Costume Design. The play, depicting the experiences of three nurses during the First World War, was written by Winnipeg-based Vern Thiessen back in 2022. Mika told she was 'proud' of how the cast and crew 'came together' and overall the play was 'a joy to work on.' 'I usually direct musicals,' said Mika. 'That's more where my comfort layer lies. This was my first time directing a show with less than 25 people in it. So it was a good challenge to work with just three actors.' While the crew had to adjust to a 'shorter rehearsal period' due to other productions put on by Stage North, Mika says they 'hit the ground running' for an opening in Fort St. John in May. She described winning the award alongside MacGillivray and the other members of the production as 'an honour.' Meanwhile, MacGillivray was in the Okanagan watching the ceremony on a stream when her name was called. 'I wouldn't have guessed in a million years that they would call my name,' said MacGillivray. 'When you're around all of the other groups, it's really humbling. We all know how much work it takes to get here and we all know how many hours we spend. '[We're] just from a small town, and you're just happy to be in the presence of everyone and happy to be there.' Ted Sloan, the local chair organizer for the Mainstage Festival, said Fort St. John was 'well received' by the other production companies from around the province, including entries from Chilliwack, Port Alberni, the Cowichan Valley, Vernon and North Vancouver. 'The festival [was a] huge success,' said Sloan. 'We were really fortunate. [Other companies] kept saying 'wow, you have such a beautiful part of the province. Wow, what great facilities. Wow, what great hospitality.'' The Mainstage Festival is Theatre BC's annual celebration of community-led theatre. The next Mainstage will take place in Vernon in 2026. Error! Mika Salamanca, Brent Manalo answer: 'Jojowain o Totropahin?'

The ship is sailing! On Monday's episode of "Unang Hirit," Mika Salamanca and Brent Manalo looked back on some of their memorable clips inside the "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition." In one of the clips, Brent was asked whether he would rather be friends or be romantically linked with Mika. Without batting an eyelash, Brent answered, "Jojowain." "Si Mika talaga, ever since pa lang, pareho kami ng personality [at] mindset," he explained. 'And sobrang importante sa 'kin 'yun sa magiging jowa ko na pareho kami ng mindset,' he added. On the other hand, Mika shared that she was also asked the same thing about Brent inside the "PBB" house, but it wasn't aired. So, exclusively at "Unang Hirit," Mika said her answer would be "Jojowain" as well. In the same episode, Brent explained why they donated their Big Winner cash prizes to their chosen charity. 'Kasi before, nagka-task kami na 'yung mapapanalunan namin, maka-first lang kami, makakapgbigay kami ng P150,000 sa chosen charity namin,' he said. 'Kaso lang ang nangyari, rank six kami out of six. Pinaka-last kami.' 'Kaya sabi namin ni Mika, paglabas na paglabas, aabutan talaga namin sila ng tulong,' he added. "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition" ended its four-month run on July 5. Mika and Brent (BreKa) won the title of Big Winner Duo. Ralph De Leon and Will Ashley (RaWi) placed second, Charlie Fleming and Esnyr (CharEs) placed third, and AZ Martinez and River Joseph (AzVer) placed fourth. The 20 housemates will reunite on August 10 for "The Big ColLOVE" at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Following its success, a second season is in the works.—AOL, GMA Integrated News

Will Ashley, Charlie Fleming, Esnyr recreate Mika Salamanca's viral 'Sino Nga Ba Siya' clip

After Mika Salamanca emerged as the first Kapuso big winner of "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition," old videos from her childhood resurfaced on social media and offered a nostalgic glimpse into the Mika we know today. Among those videos that are going viral is a hilarious clip of a young Mika singing to Sarah Geronimo's "Sino Nga Ba Siya." Clad in her PE uniform, the Sparkle star is seen running before accidentally tripping and falling flat on the ground. Undeterred, she bursts into tears—then starts singing the song, creating a moment that's equal parts funny and endearing. With the clip going viral, netizens have jumped on the trend—sharing their own hilarious takes using the audio. Even Mika's fellow housemates Charlie Fleming, Will Ashley, and Esnyr didn't miss out on the fun, joining in with their own playful renditions. On TikTok, Charlie joined the trend with her own spin—filming her version along the shores of Boracay. After running playfully through the sand, she collapsed beneath a coconut tree by the water, perfectly lip-syncing to Mika's now-iconic audio. "Pasado na po bah?" Charlie wrote in the caption and tagged Mika. Her entry earned an applaud by Mika herself, who wrote: "Ay at talagang sumali ka pa. 10/10 sa 'kin 'yan kase upgraded sa white sand," in the comment section. Meanwhile, Will took on the trend in a parking lot—sprinting across the pavement and even throwing himself to the ground as he dramatically dubbed Mika's lines. "Grabe," Will said in the caption, tagging Mika. As for Esnyr, he put his signature twist on the trend—bringing his trademark humor and energy, with fellow housemate Bianca De Vera making a fun cameo in the video. The short skit begins with Bianca and Esnyr laughing inside a moving car. In a playful moment, Bianca pushes Esnyr to the side, prompting him to yell "Aray!" before breaking into an impromptu a cappella version of the song. He then pans the camera to Bianca, who delivers her own hilarious rendition, adding to the fun. And of course, Mika herself joined in on the fun—sharing a fresh take on the viral video that started it all. In the video she shared, Mika just walked out from an elevator and squatted on the floor as she sang the song in acapella. As the song reached its climax, Mika stood up and belted the song's chorus showing her pure, raw and unadulterated voice. "'Wag n'yo na akong i-tag, salamat. Chereng!" Mika wrote in the caption. Mika and her duo Brent Manalo won "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition." As she returned to the outside world, Mika said that she wants to pursue music. She currently appears in "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre" as Anaca. —Jade Veronique Yap/MGP, GMA Integrated News
