Miley Cyrus fans outraged as singer, then 14, asked if she's pregnant in resurfaced clip

Miley Cyrus was asked about her sex life by reporters when she was only 14 years old. A clip from the red carpet moment has resurfaced online An old clip of Miley Cyrus from a red carpet event has been doing its rounds online as fans shared their shock over a reporter asking the then-14-year-old Disney star whether she was pregnant. The Flowers singer, now 32, rose to fame as Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel but her young age didn't stop people from starting rumours about her personal life. ‌ Rumours swirled that she was pregnant, and she was questioned about the claims during a red carpet chat with Inside Edition and Extra TV in 2007. "I am not pregnant. I am 14 years old, and that is very lame because I'm a minor," she set the record straight as her mother, Trish Cyrus, stood behind her and shook her head. ‌ ‌ "And yeah. So stupid. The main reason that I'm here tonight [is to] set the record straight," the then-teen said. "I think that people that make stuff up like that do that, [it's] kind of a cry for help, for attention." During a different chat with Extra TV, she was asked: "Why do you think these rumours about you being pregnant still exist? [What] do you think they're still going around?" "I don't know, I'm ready for them to make up something else so I can escape from it," she answered. "I think it's just people kind of wanting attention, but they didn't get the attention they wanted. It got turned back on me, and it was attention that I did not want at all. Thanks a lot, guys, good job." ‌ Miley was also questioned about her fans' reactions to the rumours, to which the singer said: "It was really breaking my heart, so I thought it would really take me down. "But the only thing it's done, it's put me in a position where everyone sees how supportive my fans are because all my fans have really stood strong and said 'No, that's not true'. ‌ "I know that, and it's also giving me the street cred just to stand here and say that would be impossible, because I'm living my life the way I believe is right, and that is to stay pure." The questions didn't end there as the reporter asked the young star whether she believed in 'no sex before marriage'. Miley responded: "No, I don't at all. So, I'm trying to stay true to that, 'cause you never know." Fans slammed the invasive questions as they questioned why a child was being asked about her sex life. One user said on Reddit: "The fact that a 14-year-old had to handle that level of adult weirdness is honestly disturbing." ‌ "I'm both amazed at the poise which this 14 year old conducts herself with, and the disgusted at the line of questioning from an adult," another added.

Miley Cyrus Compares ‘Best Of The Best' Beyonce To Michael Jackson

Miley Cyrus performed a duet with Beyonce at her Cowboy Carter Tour concert at Stade de France, Paris, back in June. Who is Beyonce's biggest fan? Undoubtedly, Miley Cyrus. The 32-year-old American singer sang high praises of Queen Bey, even acknowledging her as a 'top-tier" artist. This came just weeks after Miley performed a duet with Beyonce at her Cowboy Carter Tour concert at Stade de France on June 16. They performed their collaborative song, II Most Wanted. In an interview with Chris Olsen on SiriusXM's TikTok Radio, the Flowers singer spoke about her love for the 35-time Grammy-winning artist. As quoted by People, she said, 'Getting to see her show live, it feels like a moment of where, you know, you talk to someone about getting to see, you know, Prince or someone that's the best of the best, Michael Jackson." Miley talked about Beyonce's personality, telling the host that the 43-year-old is 'exactly what you'd wanna see on and off the stage." Further, noting that Beyonce is filled with 'grace and confidence," she added, 'I think that she deserves to kind of have this queen essence surrounding her constantly, just because I do think it's so fluid between both of her worlds and between the persona and personally, it's always been really well integrated." The Used To Be Young singer shared that Beyonce's stage persona is 'an elevated, kind of eccentric version" of who she is in her daily life. The Wrecking Ball singer further revealed she was first introduced to Queen Bey through her association with Destiny's Child. 'My granddad got me a karaoke machine when I was in like late elementary school. And it came with 'Survivor.' It had like 10 songs built into the machine, and that was one of them," she recalled. Reminiscing about those moments, she shared that her life has been 'such a manifestation." Miley also revealed that the karaoke featured 'The Tide Is High" by Blondie and songs by Debbie Harry, which helped shape her into the person she is now. Back in June, after her performance with Beyonce, Miley commemorated it on her Instagram. She shared a series of stunning glimpses from the show and also penned a heartfelt note of gratitude. '@beyonce to be beside such a humble, gracious, legendary DIVA was a dream come true. Thank you for the opportunity to perform in Paris together & sing our song about friendship," she wrote. Miley Cyrus also revealed that she has no intention of hitting the road anytime soon. Miley Cyrus thinks it's 'really hard to maintain sobriety" while touring. The 32-year-old pop star hasn't paired an album with live shows since her Bangerz Tour back in 2014, and Miley has now revealed that she has no intention of hitting the road anytime soon. During an appearance on Good Morning America, Miley – who quit using marijuana in 2017 – explained: 'It's really hard to maintain sobriety when you're on the road, which is kind of a pillar of stability in my life. None of this that I create would even be possible without the way I think about things." Miley also thinks there's an insufficient 'infrastructure" for touring artists. The pop star said: 'I do have the physical ability. I have the opportunities to tour, but I wish I had the desire, but I don't. I also don't think that there's an infrastructure that supports artists." Miley acknowledged that touring has negatively impacted her mental health in the past. The Wrecking Ball hitmaker said: 'I do think it's really hard to keep mental wellness." In 2023, Miley admitted that touring 'isn't healthy" for her. The singer has enjoyed huge success in her music career, but Miley believes that touring 'erases [her] humanity" and stifles her ability to write new songs. The Flowers hitmaker explained in a TikTok video: 'Having every day the relationship between you and other humans being subject and observer isn't healthy for me because it erases my humanity and my connection. And without my humanity and my connection, I can't be a songwriter, which is my priority." Miley also reflected on the differences between herself and her dad, music star Billy Ray Cyrus. The chart-topping singer admitted that she had financial and emotional stability during her younger years, whereas her dad was forced to struggle through the early years of his life. Miley explained: 'My dad grew up the opposite of me. I grew up on a soundstage, like in a house with a family who was super close and all lived under the same roof, and I grew up financially stable and emotionally stable, I think, in my relationships also. That's something that my dad didn't have." First Published: July 16, 2025, 20:17 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Please keep discussions respectful and constructive. Tish explained, 'Miley would have parties there and it was a whole thing, but this was actually before I smoked, and I ate some brownies at the party.'
