Delhi CM Rekha Gupta pledges to rejuvenate Yamuna in maiden I-Day speech
Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta on Friday pledged to rejuvenate river Yamuna, make the national Capital's infrastructure the best in the country, and ensure progress in all sectors such as transport, education, water supply, housing and welfare. It has everything but lacks piped water supply..… Many parties have ruled Delhi but it could not be done. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government has dedicated itself to providing the best infrastructure in the country to Delhi, the work is going on towards this,' said Gupta. Now we see an improvement in waterlogging problems,' said CM Gupta. Gupta said her government is committed to providing clean water and piped supply to all, from slums and unauthorised colonies to affluent neighbourhoods — a promise she said previous governments had failed to fulfil. The CM announced several welfare measures, including that the government will create a board for gig workers, provide housing for all slum dwellers, and establish crèches for working women. CM referred to the recently passed education bill to check arbitrary fee hikes in private schools, and said the government will distribute laptops to meritorious students, and talent hunts will be organised to promote excellence among students. The government has also increased rewards for sportspersons to encourage youth participation in sports. 'Until now, the governments of Delhi have not taken sports seriously, but our government has decided to provide the highest prize money compared to other states in the country to encourage them and will also provide them with government jobs,' Gupta said. Highlighting achievements in healthcare, Gupta said that on her government's first day in office, the Ayushman Bharat Yojana was implemented in Delhi. Since February 20, around 4.5 lakh people have enrolled in the health insurance scheme, and 166 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (neighbourhood clinics) have been opened. The CM further flagged reforms made by the BJP government to streamline licensing processes for ease of doing business, promising development across transport, sanitation, education, and infrastructure. 'Delhi government is working with complete honesty and ensuring the optimum use of every penny for the welfare of the people. We will walk along and take Delhi forward,' CM said.

Mini launches Countryman E JCW Pack at ₹62 lakh
Mini India has launched the Countryman E John Cooper Works (JCW) Pack, a limited-edition electric vehicle priced at ₹62 lakh (ex-showroom). Only 20 units of the model will be available in India, and bookings are exclusively open on the Mini online shop. Deliveries are set to commence from June 10, 2025. This marks the Indian debut of the electric Mini Countryman in its JCW avatar, combining a fully electric powertrain with design elements inspired by Mini's motorsport heritage. The Countryman E JCW Pack is available as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) unit and is based on the third-generation Countryman architecture. Performance and range The Countryman E JCW Pack features a 66.45 kWh lithium-ion battery that delivers a maximum output of 150 kW (204 hp) and 250 Nm torque. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds and offers a claimed range of up to 462 km (WLTP). It supports fast charging through a 130 kW DC charger (10–80% in 29 minutes) and 11 kW AC charger (full charge in 6 hours and 45 minutes). Design and features The model is available in two exterior shades — Legend Grey and Midnight Black — and features Jet Black roof and mirror caps. It rides on 19-inch JCW Runway Spoke Black alloy wheels and includes JCW-specific design enhancements on the grille, bumpers, side skirts, rear spoiler, and door entry sills. Inside, the car is equipped with JCW Sports Seats finished in Vescin/Cord combination upholstery, a JCW steering wheel with paddle shifters, and an OLED circular 240 mm infotainment touchscreen powered by Mini Operating System 9. The system supports voice control via the 'Hey MINI' command and includes features such as navigation, digital key, head-up display, and a Harman Kardon surround sound system. Safety and assistance For safety, the Countryman E JCW Pack includes features such as adaptive cruise control, Parking Assistant Plus with a 360-degree camera, Comfort Access (proximity-based keyless entry), and several driver assistance systems. Standard safety equipment includes multiple airbags, Dynamic Stability Control, ABS, Cornering Brake Control, and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. Ownership, warranty, and financing The model is covered by a two-year unlimited kilometre warranty, with an 8-year/160,000 km warranty on the high-voltage battery. Service Inclusive plans start from 4 years/200,000 km and are extendable up to 10 years. Warranty extensions are also available for up to 10 years. Mini Smart Finance, offered by BMW India Financial Services, provides options such as low monthly instalments, assured buyback, and upgrade flexibility. This launch further strengthens Mini's electric portfolio in India, positioning the brand to cater to a growing segment of premium electric vehicle buyers seeking performance, technology, and exclusivity.
