Sharjah to build health centres in Al Seyouh and Al Rahmaniyah
Engineer Marwa Obaid Al Taffag, Head of Federal Buildings, Housing and Facilities Design Section at Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, announced the completion of the engineering plans for two health centres in Al Seyouh and Al Rahmaniya suburbs of Sharjah in co-operation with the Emirates Health Services Corporation. Work is underway to award the tender to a contractor, she added. The two centres would provide the highest level of health services and would include clinics for family medicine, dentistry, maternity and childcare, and radiology, in addition to a unit that provides 24-hour medical treatment services, she said. The ministry is keen on establishing the centres according to the highest quality standards to serve the residents of these areas. This was announced in a conversation with Ahmed Sultan on the Direct Line programme broadcast live on Sharjah Broadcasting Authority.

MoEI, MoIAT Drive Push to Boost Industrial Energy Efficiency at Make it in the Emirates
The UAE has reinforced its commitment to sustainable industrial growth with a high-level roundtable on industrial energy efficiency, hosted by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) and the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) during the 'Make it in the Emirates' forum. Bringing together federal and local officials, private sector leaders, and technology experts, the roundtable focused on practical strategies to enhance energy efficiency across the UAE's industrial sector—a sector that accounts for nearly 60% of national energy consumption. Eng. Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at MoEI, stressed the urgent need for energy-efficient solutions, noting that the industrial sector plays a pivotal role in both economic growth and emissions reduction. 'Improving industrial energy efficiency enhances competitiveness, resilience, and cost savings while supporting our decarbonisation goals,' he said. Key initiatives discussed included the Federal Energy Management Regulation for Industrial Facilities and the Industry Registry Platform—tools designed to increase transparency and accountability in energy use. MoIAT Assistant Undersecretary Osama Amir Fadhel highlighted efforts to drive sustainable transformation through the Industrial Decarbonisation Roadmap and the Industrial Sustainability Alliance. These initiatives aim to integrate green technologies, attract investments, and boost self-sufficiency in local manufacturing. Fadhel also noted cross-ministry collaboration on the Energy Demand Side Management project and the Green ICV Initiative, which links sustainability practices to national value-added goals. UAE, Bahrain explore deeper cooperation on infrastructure
Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, UAE's Minister of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI), received Dr. Shaikh Abdulla Bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Bahrain's Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications. The visit is in line with the two countries' commitment to strengthening synergies across the board and contributing to regional socio-economic development. The two ministers explored ways to implement the joint MoU in transport, which aims to exchange technical and administrative experiences, join forces in national workforce training and capacity building, and drive joint projects in sustainable mobility, autonomous driving, and digital transformation. Furthermore, the two ministers discussed cooperation opportunities in developing the infrastructure for ports and logistics services, with the aim of improving ports' competitiveness and keeping pace with global trends in maritime transport. Sheikh Nasser Al Qasimi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Infrastructure Regulation Sector at MoEI, delivered the UAE's address during the ministerial session. In his speech, he highlighted the UAE's key achievements in the fields of sustainable transport and smart infrastructure, affirming the country's commitment to a forward-looking vision based on data-driven policies and innovation. He also emphasized the importance of multilateral cooperation in addressing global challenges in the transport sector. He affirmed the UAE's continued efforts to develop an integrated and sustainable infrastructure, referring to the 'Etihad Rail' project, which spans 1,200 kilometers across the country. The project aims to transport more than 60 million tonnes of freight and 36.5 million passengers annually by 2030, contributing to a reduction of approximately 8.2 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
