The Dons netted a club record £6.5million fee when the North Macedonia striker joined the La Liga outfit. At the time of Miovski's arrival, Girona had just enjoyed a stunning campaign that saw them finish third in the league and qualify for the Champions League for the first time in their history. Miovski arrived in Girona as a replacement for the prolific Artem Dovbyk who moved to Roma. The club couldn't repeat their incredible 2023/24 season and finished 16th in La Liga. Miovski struggled, scoring just twice in 21 games in all competitions. Both of those goals came in the same game, a 4-1 win over Espanyol last November. He started Girona's new season opener on Friday night, being subbed-off at half-time of a 3-1 home defeat to Rayo Vallecano. Miovski has been heavily linked with a move away from Girona this summer, and now one of Spain's most historic clubs could be about to come calling. Six-time champions of Spain, Valencia have been somewhat a fallen giant in recent years. Billy Dodds on returning to Rangers under Barry Ferguson, defeating Mourinho & ending Celtic Park hoodoo Having battled at the bottom of the table for much of the last campaign, they rallied to finish 12th under former West Brom boss Carlos Corberan. Journalist Matteo Moretto claims that Valencia are considering a move to sign Miovski. He says that the former Aberdeen man is a 'more easily accessible option' as they look to bolster their attack. Valencia are on the hunt for a new striker with mega Rangers flop Umar Sadiq a key target. But while talks for Sadiq are ongoing, no agreement has been reached in terms of a loan fee. Sadiq joined fellow La Liga outfit Real Sociedad for £17million in 2022 after finding stunning form for Almeria. It's a far cry from the 28-year old Nigerian striker's nightmare spell at Rangers in 2018. The frontman made just one league appearance for the Gers and his only start saw him turn out a dismal performance in a League Cup semi-final defeat to Aberdeen. Canada striker Cyle Larin, currently playing for Mallorca, is said to be another option Valencia are considering. Bojan Miovski sees Girona transfer escape route open up as Aberdeen hero's rotten luck continues

The former Dons goal machine hasn't had the best time of it since his departure last year Girona forward Bojan Miovski is a target for fellow La Liga side Valencia - according to a report. ‌ The North Macedonia star only arrived in Spain in a £6.8million deal from Aberdeen 12 months ago but endured a tough debut campaign, netting just four times in 22 matches in all competitions. ‌ Miovski was previously a target for Celtic and has also been tentatively linked to city rivals Rangers as well as Bundesliga duo Freiburg and Hamburg. ‌ The Pittodrie hero started in Girona's league opener against Rayo Vallecano on Friday night but was hooked at half time with his team already 2-0 down after goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga saw red. And now Spanish outlet Fichahes claim that he is a loan target for Carlos Corberan's Valencia. They add that the six-time La Liga winners' are working on a loan deal for the 26-year-old even though Girona would be open to selling the player permanently. Valencia have struggled to balance the books in recent seasons but see a loan move for Miovski as a cheaper alternative to the finances involved in deals for other forward targets Cyle Larin and Rangers' flop Umar Sadiq. Earlier this week, Girona boss Michel had confirmed that the Catalan club are looking to bring in another attacker, casting more doubts on Miovski's long-term future at the Estadi Montilivi. He said: "We need a left-back, a central midfielder, a winger, and a striker. ‌ "It seems like Miguel Gutiérrez will leave, although it's not a done deal yet. If he leaves, we'll need another left-back." Back in July, Miovski left the door open to a potential departure by admitting that a decision on his future could be taken out of his hands. The former MTK Budapest frontman also hasn't ruled out making a sensational return to Pittodrie further down the line. ‌ In an interview with he said: "My career will probably last for another 10 years, and I cannot predict the future, but I do not rule out the possibility of wearing Aberdeen's shirt again one day. "I was really appreciated within the club, and I love the club as well. I felt really good there, and if I return there one day, winning a trophy would be at the top of my list. 'My primary goal is to score as many goals as possible next season and help my team achieve its targets. I signed a long-term deal last year, but I cannot predict what will happen over the summer. "Although the club considers me a project to develop and I have three years left on my contract, everything is open, and whether I will leave or stay depends on the club."

Bojan Miovski suitors placed on red alert as Girona boss reveals transfer plans

The former Aberdeen striker netted just four times in 21 matches in his debut season in Spain last year Bojan Miovski's long-term future at Girona has been thrown into further doubt after the La Liga side's manager confirmed they are looking to bring in another striker. ‌ The Macedonia star endured a tough debut season in Spain following his £6.8million switch from Aberdeen 12 months ago, scoring just four goals in 21 matches in all competitions. ‌ Girona had claimed a Champions League spot in the 2023/24 campaign with a shock third place finish in Spain's top-flight but a huge slump saw them narrowly avoid relegation to the Segunda Division last season. ‌ Miovski featured in four of Girona's six pre-season fixtures ahead of their La Liga opener against Rayo Vallecano next weekend but Estadio Deportivo report that the 26-year-old is likely to be moved on this summer. The Pittodrie hero was a target for Celtic in the past after bagging 44 goals across two seasons with the Dons and has been tentatively linked with rivals Rangers as well as Bundesliga duo Hamburg and Freiburg. It comes after Girona head coach Michel revealed that he wants to sign four more players before the window slams shut on September 1, including a new centre forward. ‌ He said: "We need a left-back, a central midfielder, a winger, and a striker. "It seems like Miguel Gutiérrez will leave, although it's not a done deal yet. If he leaves, we'll need another left-back." Spanish media in Bojan Miovski Celtic transfer link

The striker joined La Liga outfit Girona from Aberdeen last summer, although the move hasn't worked out so far. Miovski has played 22 times since his move to Spain, scoring four goals. He could be on the move this summer, and AS reports that Celtic are interested in a move, alongside Freiburg and Hamburg, both of the German Bundesliga. Read more: It is said that a sale of Miovski won't be a 'simple matter', and that Girona must receive a 'sufficiently attractive offer' to part ways with the 26-year-old. The North Macedonian scored 44 goals in 98 appearances during a two-year stint at Aberdeen. Links to Celtic come as the Parkhead club reportedly close in on the signing of Japanese centre-forward Shin Yamada from Kawasaki Frontale. Sky Sports claims a £1.5 million deal for the 25-year-old to move to Glasgow has been agreed. Yamada recently spoke after making his debut for Japan in a 6-1 victory over Hong Kong: "I went into the game with the feeling that this was my chance to impress and although we won, I thought I could have done more," he said. "I think that going forward, when we compete in the World Cup, it will be against far more difficult opponents, so I need to keep that in mind as I work on my national team progress. "I thought I might have been able to score a goal, but I think I learned a lot from this. "On a personal note, I have to admit I have had a disappointing season. I set high standards for myself and I don't think I met them if I am being honest. "Yes, I enjoyed a very good season previously and scored a lot of goals, but for whatever reason it didn't happen again this season. "I think the team played in a different style and that made a difference, but I am fully aware I have to raise my standards."

Aberdeen 'need one squad for the Premiership and one for Europe'

Aberdeen fans, we asked you how Jimmy Thelin should build on the momentum gathered by that Scottish Cup wins. Here's a taste of what you had to With pacy wingers such a big part of our game, it's a no-brainier we need a top-notch six-yard box finisher. Midfield alternatives to the excellent Graeme Shinnie and Sivert Heltne Nielsen must be on the horizon. A Jamie McGrath-type playmaker By building a strong squad of real quality players and probably a different tactical set up. Overall 4-2-3-1 hasn't worked for us. We can't afford two out-and-out wingers as that always leaves us a man short in midfield. Also, you can't build a goal-scoring partnership when you always play a lone striker. For me, 4-4-2 gives the team more solidity and shape, Topi Keskinen on left of midfield and Nicolas Milanovic on the right with Shayden Morris as the impact They'll need one squad for the Premiership and one for Europe, with a tweaking between the two. We saw last time in Europe, we more or less played the same team on the Thursday and Sunday, leading to players being burned out, losing the momentum we'd shown the second half of the season prior. It will all come down to money - what's left in the pot now? Prioritise what you want, a good run in Europe or finish as high up the league as possible? If we could only try and get Miovski back on loan!Anthony: The second-half of last season was an absolute disaster due to tactical rigidity. There have been many new names but it remains to be seen whether the Dons tactical approach will become more flexible. The first three games will be most instructive. European may be a distraction that earns Building momentum will need a larger and better quality squad to handle both Europe and the league. Both Hearts and the Dons have fallen over in this respect in recent years. Better defenders are essential, as are sharper strikers and a stronger midfield. Thelin has done a great job in his first season, taking the club from nowhere to a major domestic trophy and European group stage football. If there's a problem it won't be the All we seem to do is to sign non-Scottish players. We had a half-hearted attempt to sign [Lyall Cameron], who went to Rangers. Yes, we have signed some good players but not all of them are good. What could be even worse is seeing Bojan Miovski coming back in green and white hoops! If I was Thelin I would try to prize Simon Murray away from Dundee - he could do a good job for us.
