Museum-goers' malicious murder: Letters to the Editor — May 28, 2025
The Issue: The murder of Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim outside the Capital Jewish Museum in DC. The root of the tragic killings in DC is the belief — which far too many hold — that judging a person by the group to which they belong is proper ('Mourning 'beautiful souls,' ' May 26). In all groups — Jews, Muslims, blacks, whites, cops and others — there are sinners and saints. If people would judge based on the individual instead of the group to which they belong, the world would be a far better place. Gary Markman Beacon Falls, Conn. People should not fear walking down the streets because of their religious faith. These two wonderful people worked together with others to sponsor a joint effort by Palestinians and Jews to help ease the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The man who committed this horrendous crime must be prosecuted to the fullest extent that the legal system will permit. John Amato Fresh Meadows As the left cheers for the murder of two innocents and continues their pathetic rants against Israel, one fact continues to elude them: The suffering in Gaza could cease in a minute were Hamas to lay down its arms and unconditionally surrender. It is this despicable terrorist group that has no right to exist, not the homeland of the Jewish people. Anthony Parks Garden City We need thousands of lawyers to sue Harvard and Columbia. With their silence, these schools have condoned the hate that caused the DC shooting. Michael Shapiro Massapequa The shooter in DC will be spared the death penalty because it was abolished in that jurisdiction. Therefore, the taxpayer will be feeding him, cutting his hair and making sure he has all the necessary medical care in jail. How does that make you feel? Phil Serpico Queens The war in Gaza is halfway across the globe, and we have groups of people getting their panties in a twist over it. There were no Ukraine demonstrations to this extent and there aren't any for South Africa. James Schwartz Summit, NJ I am very familiar with the Capital Jewish Museum, having visited there a number of times, where the staff assisted me in the writing and publication of my book, 'The Jewish Community of Washington, D.C.' I was horrified to hear about the two individuals who were murdered at the museum, simply because they were Jewish. I can only reflect on what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said: 'Hate can not drive out hate; only love can do that.' Martin Garfinkle Staten Island The Issue: Miranda Devine's column on the FBI's Hunter Biden coverup during the 2020 election. The 2020 presidential election was indeed stolen ('No justice in the FBI coverup,' Miranda Devine, May 26). While what happened in polling places and ballot boxes will be debated for years, one thing stands clear: The FBI, once lauded for crime-fighting, pulled off the heist of the century with its laptop coverup. The word 'corrupt' barely begins to describe the FBI's actions in shredding people's faith in the government. Robert Porch Marlton, NJ Miranda Devine did everyone a favor when she came out and called attention to Hunter Biden's laptop. The laptop had a lot to offer about the character of presidential candidate Joe Biden. Yet then, like now, the elites hid behind their hatred for President Trump. With what is currently coming out about coverups, they still hide their lack of understanding behind a hatred for Trump. Harry Ruffalo Phoenix, Ariz. Want to weigh in on today's stories? Church Declining Refugees Because They're… White?!? Miranda Devine Weighs In on Episcopalian Church's Stunning Decision
Miranda Devine, Fox News Contributor, New York Post columnist, and author of THE BIG GUY: How a President and His Son Sold Out America , joined The Guy Benson Show today to react to the stunning decision by the Episcopalian Church to reject white refugees fleeing race-based violence in South Africa. Devine questioned the morality of judging whether killings are a 'genocide' depending on the race that is being killed, especially given the context of other genocides happening across Africa.
