Morgan Wallen Blocks Three Country Legends From A New No. 1 Smash

Morgan Wallen's new promotional single 'Superman' earns the singer yet another quick win on the Billboard charts this week. The tune was the final track to be shared from his album I'm the Problem before the project appeared in full and fans could buy and stream the complete set. Excitement around the lengthy studio effort – I'm the Problem features 37 songs – paired with Wallen's immense popularity, ensured that the track opens in the top spot on a pair of genre-specific rankings in America. In one case, it blocks three of the most beloved stars in country music from securing another champion. 'Superman' launches atop both the Country Digital Song Sales and Country Streaming Songs charts. On the former tally, which looks only at pure purchases of individual tunes in the style, Wallen beats 'Trailblazer,' the new collaboration between Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert, and Lainey Wilson. That track is forced to settle for second place as it arrives. According to Luminate, 'Superman' sold 4,000 copies in its first tracking frame. 'Trailblazer' managed a little less than 3,200. So, the competition wasn't very close between the two. It's worth noting that 'Trailblazer' was released midweek instead of on Friday, when the tracking period begins. The three women performed it at the Academy of Country Music Awards, which McEntire also hosted. The cut arrived on streaming sites and download platforms like iTunes and Amazon just before the trio premiered it live on Sunday, days after 'Superman' was released. Wallen collects his seventeenth No. 1 on the Country Digital Song Sales chart with 'Superman.' McEntire, Lambert, and Wilson have all reached the summit before, but 'Trailblazer' would have been an important win to add to their discographies. Among the three, Lambert claims the most champions, with three. Wilson has scored a pair, and McEntire — despite her lengthy career — has only reached the summit once. Amazingly, between McEntire, Lambert, and Wilson, the trio has only nabbed half a dozen No. 1s on the Country Digital Song Sales chart. Wallen almost triples that sum on his own. 'Superman' gives Wallen his forty-third top 10 on the tally. That's just two more than the three trailblazing female singers have collectively scored.

Reba McEntire Reaches A New Career Peak With Her Superstar Collaboration

'Trailblazer' by Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert, and Lainey Wilson debuts at No. 4 on the Digital ... More Song Sales chart and nearly tops the country-specific tally. (Photo by Christopher Polk/Penske Media via Getty Images) In addition to hosting the 2025 American Country Music Awards, Reba McEntire also took to the main stage to perform. She joined fellow genre favorites Miranda Lambert and Lainey Wilson for a brand new collaboration, "Trailblazer." Released just hours before their joint performance on the program, "Trailblazer" debuts as a bestselling title and hits the Billboard charts this week. The success brings all three women back ot several tallies, and it pushes the most iconic member of the trio to a never-before-seen high point. "Trailblazer" reaches a trio of Billboard rankings this frame thanks largely to an impressive opening sales count. Luminate reports the collaboration sold just under 3,200 copies in its first, shortened tracking period. That frame didn't quite run a full seven days, as the track dropped on Sunday just before the awards — rather than on Friday, as is usually the case. Despite that disadvantage, the tune still manages to enter the top 10 on a pair of purchase-only rankings. "Trailblazer" kicks off its time at No. 4 on the Digital Song Sales chart. It now stands as the highest-rising hit for both McEntire and Wilson on Billboard's ranking of the bestselling tracks on platforms like iTunes and Amazon throughout the U.S. Before this week, McEntire had previously climbed as high as No. 5 when she joined Thomas Rhett, Hillary Scott, Chris Tomlin, and Keith Urban on the inspirational "Be a Light," which reached that position in April 2020. Wilson, meanwhile, has reached No. 4 in the past — multiple times, in fact — but never climbed higher, as "Trailblazer" matches her all-time best showing. She sent both "Wait in the Truck" with Hardy and "Heart Like a Truck" to fourth place on the Digital Song Sales chart, with the tracks debuting just weeks apart in 2022. Lambert, however, has soared higher with only one track. "Drunk (And I Don't Wanna Go Home)" with Elle King missed out on becoming a No. 1 by just one space in 2021. Both Lambert and Wilson collect their fifth top 10s on the Digital Song Sales chart this week. McEntire, despite her lengthy and storied career, has now sent only a trio of tunes into the loftiest space on this list. "Trailblazer" almost becomes a No. 1 on the Country Digital Song Sales chart, but misses the summit by just a single space. Instead, it launches at No. 2 behind "Superman" by Morgan Wallen, which starts in first place. The same cut also reaches No. 44 on the Hot Country Songs tally, and could rise in the coming weeks.
