Auburn among top schools in hunt for three-star TE Landen Miree
Auburn among top schools in hunt for three-star TE Landen Miree Auburn joins programs such as Florida State, Washington, and North Carolina who are looking to sign Landen Miree. Auburn football is in the mix to land a top-30 tight end from Ohio. Landen Miree, a three-star tight end from Cincinnati, Ohio, recently released his top six schools, with Auburn making the cut. Miree has also scheduled an official visit to the Plains, which will take place during the week of May 30, according to a report by Allen Trieu of 247Sports. Miree had a breakout season at Princeton High School in Cincinnati by making 29 catches for 404 yards and six scores as an 11th grader. He went over the 100-yard mark in Princeton's 38-21 loss to Archbishop Moeller, catching six passes for 127 yards and two touchdowns. Miree came close to reaching the century mark again when he hauled in six passes for 96 yards and a touchdown in a 14-6 win over Lakota West in September. Auburn will be Miree's first stop on his official visit tour this summer. He will take official visits to North Carolina (June 3), Cincinnati (June 6), Florida State (June 13), and Washington (June 20). Miree will also visit LSU at a later date. Miree is the No. 30 tight end according to 247Sports' composite rankings, and is the No. 26 recruit from Ohio. He has zero crystal ball predictions from 247Sports, but On3's Recruiting Prediction Machine lists Washington as the favorite with an 84.9% forecast. Auburn is next with a 3.3% chance to land him. Midwest Rumor Mill: Feedback flows in from spring break visits
March has become one of the busiest months of the offseason in terms of recruiting news, and Rivals national analyst Greg Smith has all the latest buzz from the Midwest. YOU DECIDE: What city produces the best high school football talent? MORE RUMORS: Top programs host major visitors CLASS OF 2025 RANKINGS: Rivals250 | Team | Position | State CLASS OF 2026 RANKINGS: Rivals250 | Team | Position | State CLASS OF 2027 RANKINGS: Rivals250 | Team | Position | State TRANSFER PORTAL: Full coverage | Player ranking | Team ranking | Transfer search | Transfer Tracker The recruiting process is really just getting started for the elite 2027 receiver. But he liked his time at Notre Dame recently. The culture and the coaching staff stood out to him but so did the staff's plans to open up the offense to feature receivers more. The Irish will remain a prominent program in his recruitment moving forward. Cantwell finished a spring break swing of visits that included trips to Miami, Ohio State and Michigan. The trip to Miami helped the Hurricanes close the gap a little on the other programs. The Buckeyes are recruiting him hard but still need to lock in an official visit date. Michigan will be a major factor in this recruitment though. The Wolverines check a lot of boxes for the five-star tackle as his attention turns to his official visits in a couple months. The 2027 tight end was on Notre Dame's campus on Saturday. Driver was quick to get on campus after the program offered him during its Pot of Gold recruiting event. The coaches and players were very welcoming to him and his family during their time on campus. The Irish are also known for getting tight ends involved in the offense and developing them which the Kentucky native likes. The Ohio native made visits to Pitt, Ohio State and Michigan recently. Each program utilizes the tight ends in different ways which was nice for him to see. Offensive coordinator Kade Bell at Pitt made a big impression with how much he likes to stretch the field. Pitt, Minnesota, Duke and Wisconsin are the teams making the strongest pushes for Fryzel right now. The four-star offensive tackle out of Ohio had a good visit to Ohio State where he's building a bond with new offensive line coach Tyler Bowen. The Buckeyes are still the favorites to land him. However, Greer did make a visit to Michigan over the weekend. The facilities and culture of out-working your opponent while over-preparing really stuck with him. The Wolverines impressed him and are making things interesting. Things are getting interesting for the Ohio tight end. Miree took his first visit to LSU last weekend. From start to finish it was what everyone said it was. The facilities, the players and staff were all top notch. The amount the team uses the tight ends was eye-opening for Miree. He currently doesn't have an official visit set to LSU but the team is making a strong push to get a visit from him. If that visit happens the Tigers could become the favorite with him. The Michigan State legacy was back on campus again last weekend. He's been on campus a dozen times between the last two coaching staffs. But this time he got to see the night and day difference between the offensive line room from last year to this year. Patrick is building a good relationship with quarterback commit Kayd Coffman which could be a wildcard in this recruitment. Notre Dame, Michigan and Penn State remain in the mix.

Rumor Mill: Chicago Pylon 7-on-7 tournament
BRIDGEVILLE, Ill. – The Pylon 7-on-7 Chicago event was held Sunday, and Greg Smith took in all the action. He also gathered the latest recruiting news surrounding some of the top prospects in attendance. MORE: Adam Gorney's weekly recruiting rumor mill CLASS OF 2025 RANKINGS: Rivals250 | Team | Position | State CLASS OF 2026 RANKINGS: Rivals250 | Team | Position | State CLASS OF 2027 RANKINGS: Rivals250 | Team | Position | State TRANSFER PORTAL: Full coverage | Player ranking | Team ranking | Transfer search | Transfer Tracker It's early in the recruiting process for the 2027 playmaker from Barrington (Ill.) High. The offers continue coming in as more schools get wind of his skills. The schools standing out to him right now are Miami, Michigan State, Ole Miss and Texas A&M. But many more schools are likely to get involved with the Rivals250 prospect. The Minnesota quarterback commit got back to Minneapolis for Junior Day recently, which was another great time around his future team. Lansu spoke with coach Jay Harbaugh for an hour the night before the tournament began and the two continue to have a great relationship. The signal-caller believes the team is in line to add to the recruiting class soon as he prepares for his official visit. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH MINNESOTA FANS AT Miree (6-4, 225) is starting to narrow down his list of 35+ scholarship offers. He told Rivals that his plan is to take official visits to Washington, Cincinnati , Florida State, SMU and North Carolina. The tight end development history of coach Bill Belichick is very intriguing to Miree but his official visits will go a long way to determining where he commits. He wants to make a decision before his senior season. Mueller exploded onto the scene this time last year, racking up offers from coast to coast including Florida, Ole Miss, Wisconsin and in-state Illinois. The tight end is one of the more intriguing players in Illinois right now as he transferred schools to get more looks in the passing game. That could help his recruitment continue to blossom and we'll see a reset of his top schools. He's slated to make a round of unofficial visits for spring practices before settling on early official visits. The Indianapolis (Ind.) Lawrence Central quarterback is mostly down to a pair of schools at this point. He's really focusing on Virginia and Duke with Virginia seeming to hold a commanding lead at this point. Both could get early official visits from him as he hopes to be committed in mid-April. The wide receiver has official visits lined up to Wisconsin, Michigan State, West Virginia and Indiana. Wisconsin and Indiana have played prominent roles in his recruitment this cycle. But keep an eye on West Virginia, which could make a surge as his recruitment winds down. He'd like to be committed prior to his senior season so he can enjoy his final year of high school without worrying about recruiting. Williams made a huge debut in the Rivals Rankings, checking in at No. 27 in the country. He's been one of the hottest prospects and has picked up offers from Alabama, Ohio State, USC, Iowa and more. The tight end has heard from so many schools that it's tough for anyone to stand out to him right now. It's early in the recruiting process and he hasn't been to many colleges yet. Once those visits start happening things will come more into focus. The Oregon commit recently took a visit to USC for a Junior Day visit. While he's been mostly quiet about the trip, sources indicate to me that the Trojans are squarely in the mix to potentially flip the elite signal-caller. The relationships are developing quickly between Williams and USC. It's also worth noting that Oregon is still linked to several high-profile quarterbacks in his class. This will be a recruitment worth tracking until next December when he signs. SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS WITH OREGON FANS AT The 2026 wide receiver has stayed under the radar through his recruitment. He was at Iowa State's Junior Day earlier this month and had a great time. He'll be back in Ames for a spring practice on March 29, too. Toledo and Central Michigan are trying to stay involved but coach Matt Campbell's program has a big lead right now in this recruitment.
