Travis Kelce's New Subscriber Count After Taylor Swift Appearance—Revealed

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Travis Kelce's podcast New Heights saw a sharp rise in subscribers after his longtime partner, Taylor Swift, made an appearance on the show, drawing millions of views and new attention to the NFL star's media ventures. The episode featuring Swift, released August 14 on YouTube, has already surpassed 15 million views and helped drive more than 500,000 new subscribers to the podcast, according to tracking site Social Blade. The podcast's YouTube channel now boasts more than 3 million subscribers. Hosted by Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce, the podcast was already one of the most popular athlete-led shows in the U.S., but Swift's appearance has sent its growth into a new tier. The surge in numbers reflects Swift's ability to mobilize her global fan base and connect them to whatever platforms she engages with—even in crossover entertainment formats like a sports podcast. "I think the size of her audience and of her influence, on both individual and groups of people and the culture at large, are due to the interest she generates in all kinds of folks for all kinds of reasons," Ari Perez, associate professor at Quinnipiac University, told Newsweek. Perez teaches a course titled "Taylor Swift: Cultural Mirrorball" in the university's Women and Gender Studies Program. "She has something for everyone, and you can find in that songwriting menu anything that you want to find, and it will be expertly prepared and served," Perez said. More Getty Images Since going public with their relationship in 2023, Swift and Travis Kelce have become one of the most-discussed celebrity couples globally. The singer's appearance on New Heights was also where she announced her upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl. Perez, who describes herself as a "fearless Swiftie," said the singer's influence is more than fan enthusiasm—it is a strategically cultivated relationship with her audience. "She has been very deliberate and hardworking at engaging with her fans and keeping a relatable image," Perez said. "The attachment fans feel toward her is reciprocated." Perez also drew a comparison to ESPN's branding strategy, where fans of one sport or property often find themselves drawn into others through exposure. "Taylor really has that kind of brand integration where new fans—for instance, the folks that got into Taylor's music through folklore in 2020—stick around and find their place in the universe and are encouraged and motivated to sit at the big table," she added. The effect of Swift's presence on New Heights underscores that appeal. The channel's jump in subscribers represents not just a short-term spike in attention but potentially lasting engagement from a new audience segment. "Swiftie fandom is mostly a big-tent fandom," Perez said.

DWTS Semifinalist Facing Legal Trouble After Alleged Shooting Incident

DWTS Semifinalist Facing Legal Trouble After Alleged Shooting Incident originally appeared on Parade. A former contestant from Dancing with the Stars is allegedly facing what could be major legal issues after an incident that took place in Florida. On June 13, TMZ reported that Antonio Brown, who competed on season 22 of DWTS with Sharna Burgess, was wanted by the authorities in Miami-Dade County, Florida. According to TMZ, they were told by law enforcement that Brown has a warrant out for his arrest. The potential charge is for attempted murder, and the warrant is tied to an alleged incident that took place in Florida in May. On June 12, The Washington Post reported that they reviewed the warrant issued in Florida. The warrant contains an attempted murder with a firearm charge, which would require a bond of $10,000 from the former NFL pro. Brown would also be placed under house arrest until the trial takes place. The charge comes after Brown was allegedly involved in a shooting that took place in Miami during a celebrity boxing match. ESPN reports that police detained Brown after the event for several hours. Video shared by TMZ showed Brown running just before gunshots were heard. The media outlet noted that it appeared Brown carried a gun in one hand as he ran. In addition, The Washington Post reports that authorities met with an alleged unnamed victim who was at the boxing event. The media outlet claims that Brown fired gunshots at him after the two had a physical fight. The victim's statement, TMZ reported, prompted the arrest warrant. Shortly after the incident initially happened, Brown posted a statement on the social media site X, formerly Twitter. On May 17, he wrote, "Regarding the boxing event that happened last night. I was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me." Brown continued, "Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me. I WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND WAS NOT ARRESTED." He added, "I will be talking to my legal council and attorneys on pressing charges on the individuals that jumped me. I will keep you all posted step-by-step on the process. Thank you for the support and love." Brown competed on season 22 of Dancing with the Stars, which premiered in March 2016. Brown and Burgess made it to week 9 of the competition, the semifinals, before their elimination. The finals for season 22 included Ginger Zee and Val Chmerkovskiy, Nyle DeMarco and Peta Murgatroyd, along with Paige VanZant and Mark Ballas. The Mirrorball trophy went to DeMarco and Murgatroyd. Parade reached out to Brown's team for comment. Selena Gomez Cheers On Taylor Swift As She Reclaims Her Music Catalog

After years of waiting, Taylor Swift finally has the rights to her music catalog again. On Friday, May 30, the "Mirrorball" singer revealed that Shamrock Capital had agreed to sell back the rights to her music with "no strings attached." A few hours after the "Anti-Hero" singer revealed that she was once again owned the rights to her old songs, music videos, and photography, her close friend Selena Gomez stepped up to show her support. "YES YOU DID THAT TAY!!!" she wrote on her Instagram Stories, adding, "SO proud!" The close friends have often shared their support with one another on social media, with Swift recently cheering on Gomez's latest album with her fiancé, . Earlier, in a post announcing their engagement, Swift commented, "yes I will be the flower girl," which sent fans into a frenzy. The news proved to be so popular that Swift's Instagram post received over five million likes within only three hours of publication. "taylor" started trending in the top spot on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, along with the title of one of her songs, "Better Than Revenge." Although comments on her Instagram post were disabled, her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs' tight end Travis Kelce, dropped a subtle sign of support by "liking" her post, since he was unable to leave a comment. The post received many celebrities likes from her famous friends, many of whom have supported her throughout her journey to reclaim her music. The "Look What You Made Me Do" singer announced the good news in a long letter that she published on her website on the morning of Friday, May 30. In the letter, she thanked her fans for supporting her music and her wildly successful Eras Tour, which helped make the purchase possible. 'To say this is my greatest dream come true is actually being pretty reserved about it,' she told her followers. 'To my fans, you know how important this has been to me – so much so that I meticulously re-recorded and released 4 of my albums, calling them Taylor's Version.' Since Scooter Braun's acquisition in 2019, Swift has released 'Fearless (Taylor's Version),' 'Red (Taylor's Version),' "Speak Now (Taylor's Version),' and '1989 (Taylor's Version).' 'The passionate support you showed those albums and the success story you turned The Eras Tour into is why I was able to buy back my music,' she continued. 'I can't thank you enough for helping to reunite me with this art that I have dedicated my life to but have never owned until now.' Now that she has the rights to her music back, many fans are wondering what will happen to the last two albums that she has yet to re-record: "Reputation" and her debut album. In her letter, she revealed that while she has completed re-recording her debut album, she has been struggling with "Reputation" and the memories that she associates with that era of her life. 'Full transparency: I haven't even re-recorded a quarter of it. The Reputation album was so specific to that time in my life, and I kept hitting a stopping point when I tried to remake it,' she explained. 'All that defiance, that longing, to be understood while feeling purposely misunderstood, that desperate hope, that shame-born snarl and mischief.' 'To be perfectly honest, it's the one album in those first 6 that I thought couldn't be improved upon by redoing it,' she continued. 'Not the music, or photos, or videos. So I kept putting it off. There will be a time (if you're into the idea) for the unreleased Vault tracks from that album to watch.' However, there is good news for fans hoping for a full re-release of her debut album. 'I've already completely re-recorded my entire debut album, and I really love how it sounds now,' she wrote. 'Those 2 albums can still have their moments to re-emerge when the time is right, if that would be something you guys would be excited about.' 'But if it happens, it won't be from a place of sadness and longing for what I wish I could have,' she added. 'It will just be a celebration now.'

Taylor Swift's Rhode Island Mansion Human Remains Report Explained

Authorities reportedly discovered what appear to be human remains near Taylor Swift's Rhode Island mansion, which is popularly known as the 'Holiday House.' As per reports, the human remains were found in the luxury Watch Hill neighborhood, which is near Swift's seaside property. Rhode Island police revealed that human remains were likely found on a beach path on Everett Avenue, which is minutes away from Taylor Swift's mansion. As per the police, they found a human leg bone and sent it to the Rhode Island Medical Examiner's Office for further investigation (via The Independent). Westerly Police Chief Paul Gingerella reportedly stated that the authorities are not suspecting any foul play. However, a resident of the area told NBC 10, 'I think finding a leg is very suspicious.' The resident also mentioned that the Watch Hill neighborhood is a posh area. 'I would never expect anything like that—especially not in Watch Hill.' Swift bought her famous Rhode Island waterfront home back in 2013 for $17.75 million. The mansion has been the pop icon's favorite destination to host her famous 4th of July parties. The Grammy winner threw several 4th of July star-studded parties at the Holiday House. Selena Gomez, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, the Haim sisters, and others appeared for the parties over the years. In 2024, the 'Mirrorball' hitmaker reportedly invited her beau, Travis Kelce, Patrick, and Brittany Mahomes to an August vacation at the famous property. Recent reports state that T. Swizzle is planning some renovations of the beach house. According to a building permit, Swift plans to add a bedroom and a couple more bathrooms to the beach abode. Additionally, one of the existing kitchens will also go through renovations for possible expansion. Overall, the expenditure for the renovation can go up to $1.7 million. The singer's property renovations have fueled speculation about the artist's future plans. Sources close to Kelce have previously revealed that the NFL heartthrob could propose to Swift on an upcoming vacation. Hence, fans are anticipating multiple significant announcements from the singer in the next few months. In other news, Swifties also theorized that the pop icon might perform at the AMAs 2025, where she will likely reveal the details of her future music projects.
