Ken Moelis to step down as CEO of his investment bank, WSJ reports
June 9 (Reuters) - Ken Moelis is planning to step down as the chief executive officer of his investment bank Moelis & Co (MC.N), opens new tab, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday. The veteran dealmaker is expected to become the executive chairman on October 1, the report said, citing an interview. Co-founder and co-president Navid Mahmoodzadegan is likely to succeed Moelis as the CEO, the report said. The bank did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.

Ken Moelis, the founder of boutique investment firm Moelis & Co., said he will step down as chief executive officer effective Oct. 1, the Wall Street Journal reported. The 66-year-old banker will take on the role of executive chairman, he told the newspaper in an interview. Co-President Navid Mahmoodzadegan will become CEO and join the bank's board of directors, according to the report.
