Libyan ministers discuss reviving key projects
The Transport Minister Mohamed Al-Shahoubi and Acting Minister of Education Ali Al-Abed have held talks with mayors from the Western Mountain region to discuss the implementation of stalled service projects as part of the government's 'Return to Life' initiative. The meeting focused on addressing local priorities and reviving key infrastructure efforts, particularly in essential sectors such as drinking water, education, and healthcare. Strategic road networks linking vital towns and cities were also high on the agenda. Among the highlighted proposals was the 'Schools of the Future' project, which aims to modernise the educational environment across the region. Officials also reviewed plans to complete the Al-Aziziya–Nalut road and upgrade existing hospitals and health centres. Participants underscored the need for sustainable funding and proposed the establishment of a "Western Mountain Cities Reconstruction Fund" to support the long-term development of the area. Saudi delegation inspects Libyan airport ahead of flight resumption
A Saudi civil aviation security delegation arrived at Mitiga International Airport on Saturday as part of preparations to resume direct flights between Libya and Saudi Arabia. Transport minister opens Arab aviation summit in Rabat
Libya's Minister of Transport, Mohamed Al-Shahoubi, has inaugurated an extraordinary session of the General Assembly of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO) in the Moroccan capital. The high-level gathering on Thursday was attended by transport ministers from Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, along with delegations from other Arab League member states. Key discussions centred on coordinating Arab nominations for the Executive Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), ahead of its upcoming General Assembly meeting scheduled for the end of September.
