Bundesliga star speaks out on future after Arsenal transfer enquiry
Mohamed Amoura has distanced himself from speculation of a possible transfer move to Arsenal, insisting he remains 'fully focussed' on the 'here and now'. The 25-year-old striker enjoyed an excellent debut season in the Bundesliga having joined Wolfsburg on loan from Belgian outfit Union SG, racking up ten goals and nine assists 31 appearances. Despite missing the start of the campaign through injury, only five players registered more assists than Amoura in the German top flight – and the forward earned himself plenty of admirers with his displays. Wolfsburg are expected to make Amoura's loan deal permanent for a fee in the region of €15million (£12.6m) this summer. However, the club are reportedly open to cashing in on the diminutive attacker should they receive a bid of around €35m (£29.5m) before the transfer deadline. Reports last month claimed Amoura's performances had not gone unnoticed in the Premier League, with Arsenal believed to have made an enquiry to gauge the Algerian's potential availability. Liverpool, Nottingham Forest and Bayer Leverkusen have also been credited with a strong interest in Amoura in recent weeks. 'I'm fully focused on the here and now,' Amoura told German publication Kicker when asked about the rumours surrounding a big-money transfer. 'I'm very grateful to Wolfsburg – the club has placed its trust in me. 'My goal is to continue developing. What matters to me is my performance on the pitch and what I can contribute to the team.' It's understood Viktor Gyokeres is at the top of Mikel Arteta's wishlist for the summer and the Gunners have emerged as the frontrunners to wrap up a £60m agreement for the prolific Sporting star. Facing the media ahead of Arsenal's final match of the season against Southampton, Arteta confirmed that the club would endeavour to bring in added 'firepower' and 'creativity' in the transfer market. The Arsenal head coach told reporters: 'I think the biggest thing is that, and using the word pride. We have brought the club into a position, into a place that next season: 'You have to win a major trophy!' More Trending 'That means that everybody believes, that we have the level, that we have shown the consistency, and we are an elite team in this country and in Europe. And if you don't do that, then what's going to happen? 'So, for me that's the biggest statement, that Arsenal is there. If you want to win major trophies, you have to be the best in the market, no? The teams that win have the best players, always, always at this level. 'What we have, what is clear as well with the amount of injuries that we had in the front line, that we need a goal threat and we need the firepower out there. 'Understanding that the context can change tomorrow, you know, and we cannot rely just on the numbers that we had before. And we have to add goals, we have to add creativity, we have to add numbers and that will be in different positions.' For more stories like this, check our sport page. Nottingham Forest target Mohamed Amoura can leave for €50m
Kicker reports that Nottingham Forest target Mohamed Amoura could leave Wolfsburg this season, if they receive a substantial fee. The Algerian joined the Bundesliga side on loan from Union SG last summer before joining VfL on a permanent basis for a reported €15m. Now, the German outlet suggest that Amoura can leave for around €50m. Liverpool and Arsenal have also shown interest in Amoura, who has scored 10 and created 12 goals in 31 Bundesliga games this season. The 25-year-old registered successive assists in the final two league games of the season. Advertisement Amoura also has interest from within the Bundesliga. Should Florian Wirtz leave Bayer Leverkusen this summer, the club could potentially use a chunk of that to sign Amoura, who is registered as one of the quickest players in the Bundesliga. In reference to Amoura, Wolfsburg sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz said: 'We have a few players in our ranks who have aroused some interest.' And with Daniel Bauer in charge on an interim basis following the dismissal of Ralph Hasenhuttl, Wolfsburg could use the €50m fee from a potential Amoura sale to reinvest back into their squad. Arsenal, Liverpool & Nottingham Forest interested in Wolfsburg's Mohamed Amoura
Arsenal, Liverpool & Nottingham Forest interested in Wolfsburg's Mohamed Amoura According to a report from L'Équipe Wolfsburg striker Mohamed Amoura (24) is the subject of interest from several Premier League sides including Arsenal, Liverpool, and Nottingham Forest. The Algerian international joined the Bundesliga side this summer on a loan-to-buy deal worth €14m after a season at Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise where he made his breakthrough on the European stage. Amoura has already taken to the Bundesliga like a duck to water, having scored five goals in six games for Wolfsburg this season, and registering three assists. At the international level, Amoura is working to follow in the footsteps of record scorer Islam Slimani (47 goals in 102 appearances) with 13 goals already in 32 caps for the Fennec Foxes. Last season, Amoura would net 21 goals in 45 matches ahead of his move from Bruxelles to Wolfsburg. 'Amoura, he's a player powered by electric batteries!' said manager Ralph Hasenhüttl on his new signing. He is currently on loan at the German club, but an obligatory buy clause would be activated if Wolfsburg stay up in the Bundesliga this season. GFFN | George Boxall

Leverkusen and Frankfurt court €50 million Bundesliga ace
Wolfsburg signed Algerian striker Mohamed Amoura from Belgian cup winners Union Saint-Gilloise on a loan deal, but they'll certainly exercise their buy option for €17 million. According to local outlets 'Aller-Zeitung' and 'Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung", Wolfsburg are open to listen to offers in the range of €50 million. "It's fantastic how he has developed with us,' said Wolfsburg's sports director Peter Christiansen. 'Of course, there will be interested clubs. But, if we let a player go, there must not be a gap here and we should get what he is worth for the club.' Amoura scored nine goals in his first 22 Bundesliga appearances for the Green and Whites. Meanwhile, his assist in Bremen puts him third in the league's ranking with eight. The fleet-footed dribbler is the main reason for Wolfsburg's late push for European places. But, he could join a Champions League side by the end of the season. Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt are currently lining up their offers to add the 24-year-old to their ranks. The champions are reportedly in pole position, while Frankfurt must secure a Champions League qualification to afford a transfer of that scale.
