War of narratives won: Qalibaf cites "Boom Boom Tel Aviv" song
Shafaq News – Tehran On Saturday, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf described the country's 90 million citizens as the 'solid core of the Islamic Republic,' framing national unity as one of the most significant outcomes of the recent 12-day conflict with Israel. Speaking to Tasnim News Agency, Qalibaf pointed to what he called an unusual level of alignment among Iran's religious establishment, highlighting that both senior Shiite clerics and Sunni scholars had voiced support for Tehran's stance during the fighting. Qalibaf also highlighted the role of cultural messaging during the conflict, pointing to the viral song Boom Boom Tel Aviv as a reflection of what he described as Iran's evolving approach to public diplomacy. The track, combining a fast-paced beat with imagery of Iranian missiles striking Israel, quickly gained momentum online, surpassing one billion views across platforms—an achievement Qalibaf framed as a 'victory in the war of narratives.' The Iran-Israel war, which broke out on June 13 and continued for 12 days, resulted in heavy casualties and significant infrastructure damage on both sides. The conflict also drew in the United States, which conducted strikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities as part of its involvement.

Head of Iran's Shura Council: Iran's Missile Power Has Rendered Iron Dome Ineffective
Tehran – SABA: Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Speaker of Iran's Islamic Shura Council, stated that Iran's missile power has neutralized the effectiveness of the Iron Dome, emphasizing that the "Zionist enemy" will never be able to stand against truth and justice. According to Iran's Tasnim News Agency, Qalibaf made these remarks during a speech at a ceremony commemorating the martyrs of the recent confrontation with the Zionists, held at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Prayer Hall in Tehran on Wednesday. He stated that a new phase of resistance has begun, noting that these martyrs paved the way for the Islamic nation and Iran during the 12-day war against the "criminal Zionist entity." He declared: "This path did not stop in the past, nor will it stop today—it is the path of the future, for which we are all preparing." He added, "Let the Zionist enemy know that it will never be able to stand against the truth. We have learned this creed from the Holy Quran. They will never extinguish the light of God, nor will they prevail with their lies, slanders, war propaganda, and deceitful media outlets." Referring to the damage inflicted on the Zionist entity's military centers, infrastructure, and security facilities during the 12-day war, he said: "Look how over four decades of efforts by Iran's Islamic warriors and elites have transformed into a formidable force. The response to the Zionist entity—which boasted of its strength before the world, spoke of the Iron Dome, and claimed security for the Islamic nation and the people of Iran—came swiftly within hours." The Speaker of the Shura Council stressed that the hands of the "criminal Zionist entity" are stained with the blood of leaders, scholars, and Iran's beloved people. However, he noted, "Under the guidance and leadership of the Islamic Revolution's Leader, who entrusted this banner to other leaders in the country, you saw how this crime was met with a decisive response in a matter of hours." Qalibaf explained that from the second and third days of the 12-day war, the occupied territories were struck by missile attacks in every region. He stated: "On the first night of the war, we launched 350 drones and over 150 missiles at the Zionist entity." He further emphasized that the Zionist entity, on its own, has no foundation and would not survive even a few days in a war. "This illegitimate regime has been revived solely with the support of the U.S. and the West," he said, adding that "prominent global scholars believe the Zionist entity cannot endure without Washington's backing." He continued: "Despite this support, America attacked our country and was met with a crushing response from us, ultimately forcing them to declare a ceasefire." Whatsapp Telegram Email Print

Iran's President approves law to suspend cooperation with IAEA
Tehran: Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian has approved a law to suspend cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Press TV reported. Pezeshkian officially communicated the law mandating the government to suspend cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog, which was approved during a public session of Iran's Parliament on June 25. Considering violation of Iran's national sovereignty and territorial integrity by Israel and the United States regarding the country's peaceful nuclear facilities, the Iranian government is hereby obligated to immediately suspend all cooperation with the IAEA, Press TV reported, citing a parliament resolution. As per the resolution, IAEA inspectors will not be allowed to enter Iran until the security of the country's nuclear facilities is ensured and the peaceful nuclear activities are guaranteed, which is subject to the approval of Iran's Supreme National Security Council. Earlier, Iran's parliament speaker, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, criticised the IAEA for not condemning the US strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities. Furthermore, Iran is also contemplating imposing a ban on the entry of IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, who has faced criticism for facilitating the actions of Israel and the US against Iran, according to Press TV. Based on Grossi's reports, the IAEA Board of Governors passed an anti-Iran resolution days before Israel's strikes in Iran. The resolution proposed by the UK, France, and Germany, and backed by the US, prompted strong condemnations from Iran and resulted in announcements of a new nuclear facility and upgrade of centrifuges to an advanced level at the Fordow enrichment plant, Press TV reported. On June 22, the US conducted strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities in Iran - Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan. According to the news report, Grossi did not condemn the US action and faced criticism from Iranian officials.

Iran implements law suspending cooperation with UN nuclear watchdog
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Wednesday put into effect a law passed by parliament last month to suspend cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog IAEA, Iranian state media reported. On June 27, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that a bill suspending cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog was now "binding" after being passed by lawmakers and approved by a top vetting body. "The bill that was approved by (parliament) and has been approved by the Guardian Council today... is binding on us and there is no doubt about its implementation," he told state television. "From now on, our relationship and cooperation with the (International Atomic Energy) Agency will take a new form." The move follows an air war with Israel in which Iran's longtime enemy said it wanted to prevent Tehran developing a nuclear weapon. Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf was quoted by state media as also saying Iran would accelerate its civilian nuclear programme.

Iran's Parliament votes to suspend cooperation with UN nuclear watchdog
This article was originally published by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and is reprinted with permission. Iranian lawmakers have overwhelmingly voted to suspend Tehran's cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) after the country's nuclear sites were bombed over the weekend in the 12-day conflict with Israel. The bill, which state media reported on June 25 as passing by a 221-0 vote, will need to be approved by the constitutional watchdog, the Guardians Council. The decision to implement it ultimately lies with the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC). The SNSC is technically led by the president, but like all key state institutions, it answers to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Israel launched an unprecedented attack on key Iranian nuclear and military sites as well as residential areas on June 13 in a war that claimed scores of civilian lives on both sides before it came to an end in a fragile cease-fire brokered by the United States on June 24. On June 21, the United States struck three nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. 'In view of the violation of the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran by the Zionist regime and the United States of America regarding the country's peaceful nuclear facilities, and the endangerment of the supreme interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran… the government is obligated to immediately, upon the ratification of this law, suspend all cooperation with the IAEA under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty [NPT] and its related safeguards,' the text of the bill reads. The bill, if ratified, will condition the lifting of the suspension to guarantees that Iranian nuclear sites and scientists are safe and that Tehran's right to enrich uranium domestically is assured. Among Israel's targets in its attacks on Iran were scientists involved in Iran's nuclear program. Iran insists its nuclear program is peaceful and does not seek to weaponize it. Suspending cooperation with the IAEA means Iran will halt inspections, reporting, and oversight activities under the NPT. Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf criticized the IAEA for what he said was the UN nuclear watchdog's failure to 'even pretend to condemn attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities' and accused it of 'putting its international credibility for up for sale.' Tehran has long accused the IAEA of bias and working with Western powers and Israel against Iran. IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi has for years complained about what he describes as Iran's lack of cooperation with the agency over investigations into old but undeclared nuclear sites. 'The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran will suspend its cooperation with the agency until the security of nuclear facilities is guaranteed, and Iran's peaceful nuclear program will advance at a faster pace,' Qalibaf said in comments that were followed by lawmakers chanting 'death to' America and Israel.
