Mohammed bin Rashid receives Shabab Al Ahli Football Club following four-trophy season

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, received Shabab Al Ahli football team at Zabeel Palace in recognition of their outstanding performance during the 2024–2025 sports season, in which they secured four titles. His Highness congratulated the players, technical and administrative staff, as well as board members on a season crowned with multiple achievements. The reception was attended by H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, and H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai. His Highness said that the sports sector is essential to the UAE's development strategy, contributing to human progress and strengthening the country's position internationally. He emphasised that the leadership's continued support for the sector reflects a strong belief in sport to nurture role models, instil values, and shape a confident, ambitious generation. Sheikh Mohammed also reaffirmed the leadership's support for athletes and clubs to help them excel on the global stage. He stressed that sports clubs should serve as platforms for developing champions, both in term skill and character. Addressing the players, His Highness commended their determination and team spirit, noting that while reaching first place is a significant achievement, maintaining that position is the greater challenge. His Highness joined members of the team for a commemorative photo, encouraging them to sustain their high performance and expressing confidence in their ability to proudly represent the UAE in the upcoming competitions. The reception was also attended by Khalifa Saeed bin Sulaiman, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai Club. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. In strategic partnership with Dubai Culture, this year's edition features more than 120 galleries from 65 cities across five continents, underscoring Dubai's position as a global centre for culture and creativity. During her visit, H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed toured key exhibitions across the fair's diverse sections, including Contemporary, Modern, Digital, and Bawwaba, and engaged with local and international artists and gallerists. The Memorandum of Understanding aims to boost cooperation in digital education and empower African youth through accessible, tech-enabled learning. Held in Dar es Salaam, the 2025 edition of eLearning Africa gathered over 1,500 participants from 80 countries, including ministers, policymakers, and global education leaders. The UAE's involvement was part of the 'Ataya' initiative's broader strategy to fund e-learning projects in Africa in collaboration with the Digital School. The conference also saw the launch of the Digital School's first regional office in Tanzania to support the SkillED Academies Project. Delivered in partnership with IIT Madras in Zanzibar and the Centre of Excellence for Applied Research and Training (CERT), the initiative focuses on work-ready digital skills aligned with national priorities. The teams played a pivotal role in driving the UAE's foreign trade to a historic level in 2024, with total trade reaching Dh5.23 trillion and a trade surplus exceeding Dh490 billion—underscoring the strength and resilience of the national economy. The meeting, which took place at Union House in Dubai, was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE; and H.H. The UAE has signed 21 CEPAs so far, expanding its access to global markets in Asia, Africa, and Latin America—markets that collectively represent around 25% of the world's population. These agreements are an integral part of the UAE's 'Projects of the 50', which play a key role in boosting the nation's non-oil trade. The UAE now accounts for 41.4% of the total goods exports in the Middle East, ranking 11th globally in goods exports and 13th in services exports. On the sidelines of the meeting, Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of Education, delivered a lecture on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the curriculum of public schools across the UAE. She emphasised the importance of the UAE government's decision in equipping future generations with the skills to master a technology that will have a transformative impact on various aspects of life, extending beyond just work and production to influence societies at large.

The UAE Cabinet held its latest meeting at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi, approving a range of national strategies aimed at boosting key sectors of the economy and strengthening government performance. The meeting was chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Among the top decisions was the approval of the UAE Strategy for Islamic Finance and Halal Industry, which aims to double Islamic bank assets to AED 2.56 trillion and raise sukuk listings to AED 660 billion by 2031. A new committee, chaired by the Central Bank Governor, will oversee the strategy's rollout. The Cabinet also reviewed strong results from the tourism sector, which contributed AED 220 billion to the economy in 2023 and supported over 800,000 jobs. The sector is expected to reach AED 236 billion in 2024, with a goal of AED 450 billion by 2030. In line with efforts to protect public health, the Cabinet approved an updated National Biosafety Framework, focusing on risk management, biological emergency response and research innovation. The SME sector also received attention, with the UAE ranked first globally for the fourth consecutive year in the International Business Leadership Observatory report of 2024–2025 and 18th among the world's top 100 in the Emerging Ecosystems Ranking in 2024. SME licences in the country have grown by over 160 per cent since 2020, and the Cabinet reaffirmed its support for entrepreneurs and startups. Additional decisions included: Approval of a new federal performance management system (Enjazaty) to boost efficiency. Review of biofuel projects and preparations for the 2025 Hajj season. New legislation covering visiting doctors, space activities, nuclear regulations and marriage grants. Updates from the Ministry of Human Resources on the use of AI in labour market planning. Restructuring of the UAE Gender Balance Council and the Council for Environmental and Municipal Work. Ratification of international agreements with countries including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uzbekistan, Somalia and the Philippines. Approval to host major global events, including conferences on customs, oceanography and risk management. The Cabinet also reviewed updates on digital safety, including actions taken to block harmful online content and protect public wellbeing.
