Scott Galloway sends strong message to Elon Musk about Bill Gates

Podcaster and New York University professor Scott Galloway is well-known for his provocative opinions and smart takes on business, finance and government. That fact includes Galloway's unconventional view on how Social Security ought to be run. It also involves some sharply critical words he recently spoke about Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter Galloway, who earns $16 million annually, contends that wealthy individuals, including himself, should not receive Social Security benefits. He advocates for means-testing to determine eligibility, ensuring that the program primarily supports those who depend on it for financial security in retirement. He highlights an imbalance in the system, pointing out that an employee at the company he owns, ProfG Media, earning $160,000 annually contributes $9,000 to Social Security, which amounts to 6% of their income. However, because Social Security taxes are capped at $160,000, someone earning millions - such as himself - still pays only $9,000, despite making exponentially more. Related: Scott Galloway warns Americans on 401(k), US economy threat Galloway sees Social Security as a safety net meant to prevent seniors from falling into poverty, rather than a mechanism for transferring wealth from younger generations to retirees who, collectively, are the most financially well-off generation in history. He argues that substantial reforms are necessary to reduce costs significantly. He believes that political leaders have avoided addressing the issue due to the risks involved, noting that older voters have managed to secure increasing financial benefits for themselves. Galloway asserts that this trend must end and that, by his math, approximately one-third of seniors should not be receiving Social Security. Appearing on a YouTube broadcast of Piers Morgan Uncensored, Galloway explained his view that a number of Musk's actions, such as spearheading the shutting down of USAID, were not to be respected. "Somehow we've decided in America that innovation and money replaces - or obviates, or excuses - depravity." Galloway said. "Or cutting off aid to HIV positive mothers, deciding what veterans should get benefits, cutting off SNAP payments, which have shown to have a positive net return when people run out of money for food at the end of the month." "I mean, I think one of the wonderful things about being an American and quite frankly, for me what it means to be a man and what I try to teach my boys, is the whole point of prosperity is such that you can protect people," he added. More on retirement: Dave Ramsey sounds alarm for Americans on Social SecurityScott Galloway warns Americans on 401(k), US economy threatShark Tank's Kevin O'Leary has message on Social Security, 401(k)s Galloway criticized Musk's behavior, arguing that wealth and success should not excuse problematic actions. According to Galloway, when someone publicly makes offensive gestures such as apparent Nazi salutes, is largely absent from their children's lives, or reportedly struggles with substance abuse, it raises serious concerns. He questions whether such a person should be considered an aspirational figure for young men. Galloway urges people to reflect on how money and status can distort public perception, noting that Musk's achievements - whether in aerospace or autonomous vehicles - are remarkable. However, he challenges the idea that these accomplishments justify moral failings, asking whether society should overlook unethical behavior simply because someone is a visionary or the richest person in the world. Related: Dave Ramsey warns Americans on Social Security Galloway discusses Musk's behavior and mentions billionaire Bill Gates as an example of an immensely wealthy person who is putting his money toward philanthropy and making the world a better place. "Does that mean unlike Bill Gates, he's not using his billions to help people?" Galloway asked. "He's not planting trees the shade of which he won't sit under. I think this is an individual who has literally come off the tracks ... and is using his immense power to get people elected." "Too many of us excuse what is abhorrent behavior," Galloway added. "I think his legacy is not going to be an EV or putting rockets into space. I think it's going to be unnecessary death, disease, and disability of the world's most vulnerable. That is not what it means to be an innovator. It's not what it means to be an American. It's not what it means to be a man." Oscar Pistorius's dad wants to debate Gerrie Nel over murder trial 'LIES'

Oscar Pistorius's dad, Henke, has challenged state prosecutor Gerrie Nel to debate on the 'facts' surrounding his son's murder sentence for the death of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. The former Paralympian shot and killed his partner after mistaking her for a home intruder at his Pretoria mansion. He has served half of his 13 years and five months behind bars, and is now on parole. Henke believes his son is guilty of manslaughter and has accused the state of being 'incompetent' and 'liars'. Speaking on the Piers Morgan Uncensored show last week, Oscar Pistorius's dad Henke accused the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) of being 'incompetent and dishonest' He particularly accused state prosecutor Gerrie Nel of 'misleading and lying to the court' Challenging him to a one-on-one, Henke said: 'I want to offer to have a debate with Gerrie Nel live on TV. I would love it'. Oscar Pistorius's dad Henke says he is not guilty of murder. Images via SIPHIWE SIBEKO for AFP/ YouTube screenshot: Piers Morgan Uncensored Henke said that Oscar – who had 'no intention to kill' – was 'mauled' by Gerrie in the courtroom. Oscar was just an athlete. Here he was faced with a guy called the 'Bulldog' by the press. It was so unfair to leave him exposed to a guy like that. Henke demanded the 'same rules as court' in his face-off with Gerrie Nel. 'I ask the questions, he can just say 'yes or no'. Let's see if he will accept that, please'. Oscar Pistorius – who shot and killed Reeva Steenkamp on 14 February 2013 – was convicted of culpable homicide in October 2014. This was later upgraded to murder in December 2015. He was handed a six-year prison sentence. However, the Supreme Court of Appeal increased his jail term to 13 years and five months following an unsuccessful appeal in November 2017. In January 2024, Oscar was released on parole after serving half of his sentence behind bars. He will serve the remainder of his sentence under strict parole conditions until it expires in 2029. In 2017, Gerrie Nel – nicknamed the 'Bulldog' over his tenacity in the courtroom – retired from the NPA. He has since joined AfriForum's private prosecuting unit. Coincidentally, he joins Barry Bateman – AfriForum's spokesperson – who defended Oscar Pistorius during his high-profile trial. As in the case against Oscar, Gerrie has helped to prosecute the following high-profile people… George Bizos's son Alexi for assaulting his wife, Monique van Oosterhout University of Cape Town Professor Pierre de Vos for allegedly distributing child pornography on social media. Businessman Jaco Swart, whose brutal assault against his wife Nicoleen went viral in 2028. He is also representing the following cases; Bergview College Principal Jaco Pieterse who was implicated in the alleged rape of Cwecwe The family of the late Senzo Meyiwa, the Orlando Pirates goalkeeper who was killed in 2014. The widow of police detective Charl Kinnear, who was killed in 2020. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1 . Ray J Predicts Diddy Will Get Out for Prison for This Wild Reason ... But Does He Have a Point?

Adding to the list of celebrities defending Sean 'Diddy' Combs amid his federal trial, Ray J had some thoughts about how the justice system is handling Diddy's drama. And man, was it a lot.... Ray J—real name William Ray Norwood Jr.— appeared on 'Piers Morgan Uncensored' to talk about why he believes the case against Diddy is starting to get outrageous. The disgraced music mogul is fighting for his life against racketeering and human trafficking charges, but according to Ray J, we're starting to lose the plot. 'I think it's kind of becoming a circus, and with all the allegations, and now with everybody explaining what's happening in the bedroom... It just sounds crazier and crazier and freakier and weirder,' Ray Jbegan. The singer even set his sights on Combs' ex-girlfriend Cassandra 'Cassie' Ventura, who alleged Diddy blew up rapper Kid Cudi's car as a scare tactic. 'With Kid Cudi going on and saying everything that happened, but then ended up saying, 'Cassie played both of us'... Where are we trying to go?' According to Ray J, there's not enough evidence to find Diddy guilty of his current charges. 'It's entertaining, for sure... but at the end of it all, it's like, 'This is what Diddy is being charged for, and this is what he possibly might serve a lot of jail time for?' I don't understand it,' he continued. To him, Diddy's case has become about optics and not the real evidence to support to government's racketeering case against him. The public was horrified to hear how Combs allegedly raped and repeatedly beat Cassie and how he alleged conspired to kill Kid Cudi— including by kidnapping his own assistant— but Ray J and other Combs' supporters argue that still doesn't connect him to a criminal enterprise. And in order for Combs to be found guilty, that's exactly what prosecutors need to prove. Although Ray J has not been named in connection with Diddy's criminal case, he maintains that the two businessmen have a close relationship. In fact, Ray J told Morgan he sees the Bad Boy founder as a mentor. 'This is word to my mom and kids, he's always inspired me to be great,' Ray J told Morgan. In the end, Ray J said he has faith that Diddy will walk away with his freedom. 'I honestly think that Diddy will get out... I think they made their point. Whatever they were trying to make, your point is made,' he continued. 'Now let Diddy out. Free Diddy!' Ray J is the latest entertainer to speak out in favor of the 'Coming Home' rapper. He joins folks like Kanye West, Amber Rose and Boosie Badazz— all of whom have had their own share of controversies over the years. For the latest news, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Jake Tapper Was Truly ‘Stunned' by One Quote in His New Book

Jake Tapper may have co-authored Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again, but even he was surprised by one quote in the book that he says was 'jaw-dropping to me.' Piers Morgan clearly felt the same way, and asked the CNN anchor about it during an appearance on 'Piers Morgan Uncensored,' his YouTube talk show, on Monday. The British broadcaster asked Tapper about 'one line that just sprang out to me' in which 'a longtime [Joe] Biden aide says 'He just had to win and then he could disappear for four years. He'd only have to show proof of life every once in a while.'' 'It's stunning,' agreed Tapper, who credited his co-author, Axios correspondent Alex Thompson, for getting the quote. 'When we say that almost all of the interviews we did for the book came after the election, that one line is the one exception,' he shared. 'That came before the election. And I was stunned, too.' Tapper said the anecdote 'really gets at the premise that so many of these Democrats accepted, which is: only Joe Biden has ever beaten Donald Trump.' And that the Republican had 'to be defeated because he's an existential threat to the nation.' 'And if you buy those two premises, then you can really justify almost anything, which is what the Democrats tried to do,' Tapper said. 'I agree with you,' he added. 'That was jaw-dropping to me as well.' Original Sin has soared to the top of several bestseller lists since its release last week, despite some controversy. It has drawn backlash both from the right—who are accusing Tapper of failing to cover Biden's mental decline when it was most pertinent—as well as the left, who say it draws focus from Trump's dangerous threats to democracy. The book claims that Biden's inner circle helped to conceal his declining physical and cognitive health as he and his aides insisted he was fit to serve a second term. Democrats are still grappling with his disastrous decision to run again, leading to a last-minute candidate swap that may have cost them the election. Biden announced last week that he was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has metastasized to the bone. Amid criticism, Tapper has acknowledged he missed the mark in his previous coverage of Biden. He told Morgan on Monday he feels 'tremendous humility' for telling off Lara Trump in a 2020 interview when she said Biden was in 'cognitive decline.'

Pope's brother admits he will ‘probably tone it down' on social media after far-right posts are revealed

Louis Prevost, the brother of the new Pope, has said that he'll 'probably tone it down' on social media after now-removed Facebook posts revealed that he has taken on some conspiracy theories pushed by the right. The 73-year-old Floridian enjoys line dancing, but until recently, he also frequently shared missives on the social media platform, including attacks on former Speaker Nancy Pelosi and a post stating that those supporting former President Joe Biden had a 'mental affliction.' The posts could no longer be seen by Tuesday. He reposted a video of Pelosi, which included a caption from the original poster referring to the former speaker using a vulgarity. The post also suggested that Pelosi's husband, Paul, was gay, which repeated a suggestion from a misinformation campaign that was shared among those on the right after he was attacked with a hammer by a man who broke into his home in October 2022, The New York Times noted. The New York Post wrote that the post was 'gross' and 'awful.' A separate post by Prevost urged readers to keep their 'powder dry' as there's a 'war right here at home, a war for our streets and neighborhoods,' according to The Daily Beast. Prevost appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored on Monday, where the host read some of the posts back to Prevost. 'It's quite lively stuff for a bloke who's now the pope's older brother,' said Morgan. 'Well, I posted it, and I wouldn't have posted it if I didn't kind of believe it,' said Prevost. However, he added that he would 'probably tone it down.' Prevost told Morgan that he's a 'MAGA type' and that his younger brother is 'much more liberal' but that he wouldn't call him 'woke.' He added that he anticipated the new Pope to play things 'down the middle.' Prevost told The Times on Friday that his brother preferred to play priest when other children played cowboys or bank robbers. In his first Sunday address, Pope Leo XIV argued for the end of fighting in Gaza. Meanwhile, his older brother told The Times that after the October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel by Hamas, 'I'd have flattened Gaza and made it a parking lot.' Prevost told Morgan that he has 'backed off a lot of media' after facing criticism for his online statements. He added that he was looking forward to talking to his brother about the posts and seeing if the new Pope had experienced any pushback. 'But he knows I am who I am,' he said. 'He's well aware of my positions. He knows I'm probably not going to change, and I don't think I will, other than to, just as you say, tone it down.' On Sunday, the first American Pope also called for a just peace in Ukraine in addition to an immediate end to the fighting in Gaza. 'I, too, address the world's great powers by repeating the ever-present call 'never again war,'' he said to an audience of 100,000 people. 'I carry in my heart the sufferings of the beloved Ukrainian people,' he added. 'Let everything possible be done to achieve genuine, just and lasting peace as soon as possible.'
