Hamza Igamane 'arrives' for Lille medical as Rangers rumour mill explodes with two transfer truths emerging
The swirls over the future of the Ibrox striker are surging into overdrive Rangers striker Hamza Igamane has reportedly landed in France as he prepares to undergo his Lille medical before a big money move to Ligue 1. The French side are pushing for a deal for the Moroccon striker international after he impressed in his debut Scottish Premiership campaign - netting 16 goals for the Light Blues. Rangers new owners 49ers Enterprises are holding out for a big pay day on I gamane - just 12 months after he signed from FAR Rabat for £1.7million - with a £15million valuation placed on the 22-year-old. And with the player keen on the move to Lille, reports in Africa have sent the rumour mill into overdrive by claiming Igamane has arrived in France to undergo a medical and pen his contract with his new club. Both Africa Foot and Moroccan outlet Soccer 212 have cranked fanned the transfer flames by claiming the frontman has landed at the Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris. However, Record Sport understands that Rangers are still waiting for Lille to make an acceptable offer for Igamane. They are preparing an initial bid of between £13million and £15 million for the Morocco international with a number of add-ons built in. And with conflicting rumours over a timeline for the deal emerging, former Rangers striker Gordon Dalziel has told the club they must cash-in on the in-demand striker this summer. He told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard: "I know there are some Rangers fans that don't want to see him leave because he is an exciting talent, but I don't think he has lit up the Premiership last season by any matter of means. But, I think he will only get better. "But I think if you are getting figures that you are hearing, I would be moving him on all day long. "You look at the amount of players that have walked out of the building and they (Rangers) have lost a lot of money on them. "They can't go down that road and they have to look at the here and now. If you are seeing figures likes £15million with some add-ons, it's got to be a terrific bit of business." But Dalziel warned the US owners that they can't sell both Igamane and Cyriel Dessers in the same window - with last season's top scorer on AEK's radar. Asked if you can sell Dessers and Igamane, he added: "No, not unless there are replacements lined up. You cannot be going into the game on the 27nd July when you have lost two of your top strikers, that would really silly business."
