Motorola reveals the price and release date for the Moto Watch Fit

So, what can Motorola's $200 wearable do that might make you want to purchase it? So, what can Motorola's $200 wearable do that might make you want to purchase it? A fitness watch without Wear OS The Moto Watch Fit was announced last month alongside the new Razr lineup. The peculiar thing about it was that it runs on a proprietary OS and not Google's Wear OS like most other Android smartwatches. For a $199 smartwatch, that might raise eyebrows, especially with options like the Amazfit GTS 4 selling for less while offering similar features. Still, the Moto Watch Fit has some notable specs and features that might be enough to justify its price. It has a 1.9-inch OLED display, an aluminum frame, and even 5ATM and IP68 ratings. The caveat is that it does not support apps, which can be a major dealbreaker for some users. It also doesn't have a smart assistant. So why buy this watch if it has these flaws? Well, there are plenty of users that don't require additional functionality than the basic ones, so the lack of app support is not that big of a deal. If the heart rate sensor and the GPS are reliable, then the Moto Watch Fit could be a great competitor to similar devices from Amazfit and Xiaomi. Where Motorola claims the watch truly shines, though, is its battery life. The company claims up to 16 days on a single charge, though that doesn't account for intensive GPS use. To make things even better, the company even says that a short 5-minute top-up will give you a full day of watch supports the basics required for fitness tracking, such as: Two weeks of battery life, a lightweight body (25 g), and solid fitness tracking capabilities are a great combination for a fitness smartwatch. In fact, you could argue that this wearable is better than the expensive and bulky options on the market, as they can't last even for a single week on a single charge. You will be able to purchase the Moto Watch fit starting May 22 through Motorola's official website , and later on Amazon and Best Buy.

Motorola shares eyebrow-raising Moto Watch Fit pricing

Ryan Haines / Android Authority TL;DR Last month, Motorola launched its 2025 Razr smartphone lineup. Alongside the phones, we got to meet the new Moto Things accessories, including the Moto Watch Fit. Now Motorola share that the wearable is set to debut for a cool $200. Last month, Motorola pulled back the curtain on its new hardware lineup for summer, showing off the 2025 Razr phones as well as a couple accessories designed to complement the foldables. We got to meet two of these 'Moto Things': the crystal-adorned Moto Loop Buds, and the Moto Watch Fit. At the time, we got to check out the hardware and learn about its feature set, but Motorola had still not announced pricing or release specifics. Today we see those answers arrive, and they may not be what you were hoping for. Motorola has a certain degree of prestige in the smartwatch world, helping to popularize circular designs early on with its Moto 360. We recently lamented how the company has failed to really embrace that lineage with the Moto Watch Fit, and instead produced what feels more like an entry-level fitness tracker. While the wearable borrows the design of a crown-less Apple Watch, this is far from a full-featured smartwatch, and functionally feels a lot like the Moto Watch 70 — it doesn't even run Wear OS. While that's a bit of a bummer, there's still room for products like this in the wearables ecosystem — they just need to be aware of their competition and priced accordingly. For instance, we already have three other Moto Watch models made by CE Brands under license, priced from $75 to $140. That's getting a little high on the upper end, but this is what you pay if you want a big screen to go along with your fitness tracker. Ryan Haines / Android Authority So where does that leave the Moto Watch Fit? Somewhere around $150 would have made enough sense, but instead Motorola shares with us that the Watch Fit is set to go up for sale this Thursday, May 22, for just about $200 in the US — or $250 in Canada. Sales will get started directly through Motorola, but the company does plan to expand to online sales through Best Buy and Amazon at some point that it's yet to share. The Moto Watch Fit features a 1.9-inch OLED display, has an aluminum frame offering IP68 ingress protection, and claims to support over two weeks of operation on a single charge. And that all sounds reasonably solid, but we'd love to get it for a lot less — or at least be coming home with a full-blown Wear OS model for maybe a little more. Got a tip? Talk to us! Motorola's Moto Watch Fit Apes Apple Watch Charm On A Tight Budget

Motorola Watch Fit Motorola Motorola recently held a launch event at which a foldable phone, the Razr 60 Ultra, stole the spotlight. But the company also announced a new watch, the Moto Watch Fit. The Moto Watch Fit joins the somewhat overstuffed category of watches that look like smartwatches, but are perhaps better described as fitness trackers with pleasant displays. From arm's length a bystander might mistake the Motorola Watch Fit for an Apple Watch, not least because its activity display owes a debt to Apple's Activity Rings, but this is ultimately a much simpler, lower-maintenance watch. The Moto Watch Fit does provide a compelling array of features for its price, though. It costs £89, while the US price is yet to be confirmed. GPS is the feature that makes this watch notable as a proper fitness device. I would be a little disappointed if a watch at the Watch Fit's cost didn't include it, but the design is at least slightly more interesting than the usual simple round face. It's a heavily rounded off rectangle. In person it looks quite similar to an Apple Watch, but with larger bezels closer to an older generation of Apple's watch. But at this price? Major complaints are not warranted. The Motorola Watch Fit also has the 5ATM water resistance required to make use while swimming a reasonable idea. IP68 alone doesn't cut it. Screen brightness is also notable. Motorola rates the Watch Fit's peak brightness at 1000 nits, which is easily enough for solid readability outdoors, even if it doesn't sound much next to the 3000 nits of the latest Apple Watch Ultra. It's a 1.9-inch OLED panel. One part that may sound exciting to owners of actual smartwatch owners, but kinda isn't, is the Motorola Watch Fit's battery life. It's rated at 16 days, which is good but not dissimilar to the 14 days that have become the expected standard for a watch like this. Other core features include heart rate readings, blood oxygenation, stress tracking and sleep tracking. It uses a simple software interface, one that won't support downloadable apps. And there's no microphone or speaker to enable hands-free calls. Just a few important questions remain. If the Motorola Watch Fit has decent heart rate reliability and an enjoyable interface, the watch could be a winner. However, with no novel ideas in its arsenal beyond a phone app that lets you design watch faces, the Motorola Watch Fit may struggle to stand out. It will be available from May.
