The singer left the stage after only six song at his most recent show in Glasgow. It's now led to the musician cancelling two more dates ahead of his sold out London performance this weekend. Beloved singer Olly Murs' bad luck in Glasgow continues, after The X-Factor runner-up had to cancel his performance midway through due to issues with his voice - and has now cancelled two further shows after contracting a respiratory infection. The concert, which took place at the OVO Hydro overnight (May 22, 2025), saw the singer perform six songs before stopping and informing the crowd his 'voice has gone" and that "this has never happened to me before.' Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Pop icon Olly Murs delivered a set packed with pop classics. He continued: '[...]you can hear my voice is going. I want to give you the concert you deserve so I can't go on. I'm going to come back, but I need to go now." Murs, 40, then took to social media to apologize for the events, telling followers on Instagram that he was 'so sorry' to walk off stage midway through his performance and cancel the show. 'I have never done this in 15 years, Most of the time, as singers, you can kind of get through it if your voice isn't 100 percent. 'But I walked out tonight thinking my voice was great,' he continued, 'I maybe felt a little bit rundown but I didn't think I couldn't do the show because I wouldn't have come out there otherwise. So, to walk off after six songs, I am so sorry. 15 years I have never done this. 'You deserve the best show and me being at my best. I am so sorry from the bottom of my heart." Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad This marks the second time Murs has had to cancel a performance in Glasgow: last year, the singer pulled out of his support slot for Take That shortly before the event was about to start, while earlier this year he postponed two dates in Brighton and Hull due to a stomach bug 'ripping through' the band and crew. 'I'm sorry to let my fans down' Murs confirmed through his Instagram account earlier today that his planned show in Manchester this evening and Birmingham this weekend have now been cancelled as doctors advised he takes 48 hours to rest his voice. Addressing the last minute cancellations, Murs wrote: 'To everyone in Manchester and Birmingham I'm deeply sorry but I am unfortunately going to have to cancel my shows there this weekend. I have contracted a respiratory infection and have been instructed to go on a strict 48 hour voice rest by the doctor to ensure no further damage to my vocal chords. 'I've been having the best time on this tour and I'm so sorry to let my fans down, I'm hoping to be fighting fit in a few days to finish this amazing 15 year celebratory tour with a bang.' The Troublemaker singer, 41, who found fame as a contestant on The X Factor, was due to perform at Manchester's AO Arena on Friday and Birmingham's BP Pulse Live on Saturday. A post shared by Olly Murs (@ollymurs) In an Instagram post, he said: 'To everyone in Glasgow last night, I want to start by saying sorry. 'What happened last night has never happened to me before and I'm truly gutted and upset about it. The Real Reason Olly Murs Walked Off Stage After 20 Minutes

It's been one month since Olly Murs' huge arena tour kicked off in Plymouth. However, crisis struck at last night's event in Glasgow when Murs walked off stage after just 20 minutes, and six songs into his set. This happened after struggles with the singer's voice. He had performed Kiss Me Like You Mean It when he made the confession to the 14,000 capacity Ovo Hydro venue: 'My voice has gone,' he said. 'I'm going to come back, but I need to go now.' The arena was reportedly left in silence and the lights went up. Afterwards, Murs took to Instagram to share a heartfelt apology, telling fans 'from the bottom of my heart' he was 'so sorry.' In the emotional video, Murs says: 'I've never done this in 15 years,' continuing 'most of the time, as singers, you can get through it if your voice is not 100%. I walked out tonight thinking my voice is great, maybe felt a little bit run down. But I didn't think I couldn't do the show or I wouldn't have come out otherwise.' He added that he is planning on seeing a doctor that evening ahead of shows in Manchester, Birmingham and London over the weekend. 'It's unfair for you guys who spent all that money to come and see me, you deserve the best show,' he said. 'Hopefully, I can recover from this.' This isn't the first time Murs has had to cancel a gig. Last month, he took to social media to tell fans that gigs in Hull and Brighton were not going ahead, thanks to a stomach bug which had also 'ripped through' his band. He wrote on Instagram: 'I hate that I have to write this & really so sorry to let you guys down, but unfortunately, we are having to reschedule our next two shows in Brighton & Hull. The gastroenteritis bug I had last night is currently ripping through our band and crew, which makes it impossible to put on a show for you,' adding 'We'll be taking a break for 48 hours to ensure everyone can be fit and healthy for the remainder of the tour. Thank you for understanding and we're working hard to bring you news of our rescheduled dates as soon as we can. Love Olly x.' Earlier this year, Olly shared the sweet news that he is expecting a second child with his wife Amelia. They welcomed their first child last year. Murs shared an insight into how he was finding life as a new dad with Mark Wright on their Heart Breakfast show, confessing: 'It was really hard for me as I had to leave two days after the baby was born to go on tour with Take That.' He continued: 'I didn't really process it at the time and a few months later me and Amelia were chatting and I just broke down in tears as I never got a chance to actually get to know this little baby.'
