Why VPR 's Scheana Shay Says Husband Brock Davies' Affair Was "Karma"

Originally appeared on E! Online is getting candid about one of the worst times of her life. In fact, days after revealing her husband Brock Davies cheated on her in 2020 while she was pregnant with their daughter Summer Moon, the Vanderpump Rules alum shared why his infidelity felt like payback for her own 2006 affair with Eddie Cibrian. "It really felt like I got my karma," Scheana told Us Weekly in an interview published July 16. "Did I deserve for [Brock to cheat on me]? No, but I told myself that I did." And more than four years later, the "Good as Gold" singer admitted her and Brock's relationship still isn't 100 percent healed. "It takes work every single day," the 40-year-old told the outlet. "I will forever have insecurities. Just the other day, I saw him swipe and delete a text, and I'm like, 'What was that?' And he's like, 'Seriously, Scheana?' But I genuinely believe he would never do anything like that again. I do trust him. I have forgiven him." Plus, Scheana added, "We've put in the work in couples therapy. We have a very open line of communication. I want to show people that if you truly love someone, a mistake from their past doesn't have to define the future of your relationship." As for why Scheana finally decided to open up about Brock's past betrayal for the first time publicly in her new memoir My Good Side? "After several therapy sessions and really talking about it," she noted, "we decided that this book would be inauthentic if we didn't put it all in." Plus, Scheana is ready to fully stand in her truth. 'I have a voice, and I want to use it," she said. "I am extremely proud of the woman I've become. I am not that 21-year-old girl chasing boys around clubs anymore.' Read more juicy stories from Scheana when My Good Side comes out July 22 anywhere books are sold. "I have worn this scarlet letter for so long," she reflected. "I'm this 'home-wrecking whore' every day in the comments. He's the one who lied. He is the one who cheated. He is the home-wrecker. I don't want to say I was innocent, but I was lied to by a 33-year-old man when I was 21, fresh out of college. I feel like people tend to forget that." However, the Bravo alum added, "Looking back, were there red flags? Absolutely. I was leading with my heart and not my brain." Scheana Shay's Scathing Takedown Of Lisa Vanderpump Explained

Vanderpump Rules brought us a lot of joy and heartbreak. One thing is for certain: the castreally gave us the best days of their lives (and many of the worst towards the end). Scheana Shay, one of the series' originals, has recently shared some unsavoury reflections on restauranteur, reality star and Vandermpump Rules' executive producer Lisa Vanderpump. The mother-of-one started the series off with a difficult conversation with Vanderpump's then friend and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' castmate Brandi Glanville - the wife of the man Shay had an affair with. Now she's saying her former boss used her for TV. Shay is doing the publicity rounds as she's releasing a new memoir, My Good Side . She told US Weekly , 'She low-key used my real-life pain to launch her TV empire — and what an empire she has. She gaslit me about it for a decade instead of just coming to me in the beginning. That's the thing with Lisa: She doesn't make mistakes. She makes moves and then calls them coincidences.' She detailed another experience in which she felt manipulated during the series. 'I got a phone call from Lisa. She didn't want to fire James, so she needed someone to stand up for him. If you go back and watch, I'm getting a death stare from Lisa, like, "When are you going to speak up? When are you going to stick to the script?" That's when I stopped following her orders, and I feel like the relationship changed after that.' The comments follow Bravo's announcement in November that they would be rebooting the series with a whole new cast. In the memoir, Shay shares details of her husband Brock's affair while she was pregnant. She told US Weekly, when she found out she considered leaving him. 'Had there been no kid or, honestly, had I found out when he did it … 100 percent, without a doubt, I would have left. I've always been a person who said, 'If I'm ever cheated on, I would leave.' My ex-husband [Mike Shay] had an emotional affair, which honestly could be worse than physical, but this was such new territory for me to navigate.' Scheana Shay Defends Brock Davies' Involvement With Older Kids

As the release of Scheana Shay's memoir, My Good Side, approaches, she's become an open book about all aspects of her life. In a recent Us Weekly cover story, the reality TV personality got candid about her husband, Brock Davies, and his 'strained relationship' with his older children from a previous marriage. During the interview, she shared details about an unaired conversation between herself and Katie Maloney about Brock's family dynamic on Vanderpump Rules season 9. 'I sat in her living room, we had some wine, and she was like, 'I just don't understand how you could be okay with Brock leaving his family,'' Scheana told Us Weekly. According to the 'Good as Gold' singer, her husband's story draws parallels to her own life, as she developed a strong bond with her stepdad because her estranged biological father left when she was young. 'And I said, 'It is more complicated than that,'' she continued. ''You don't understand all of the nuances and everything that was going on at that time. They have a very present stepfather in their life and just like I was raised by my stepfather—who is my dad, I've never even liked referring to him as my stepdad I understood.'' Scheana added that she hesitated to even bring up her biological dad while filming Vanderpump Rules because she didn't want to invalidate how her stepdad, Ron, raised her. 'I didn't want his friends at work who watched the show to question, like, 'Wait, you're not her real dad?' No, he is my real dad. He may not be my biological father, but he is my real dad,' she added. Scheana now has a 'great relationship' with her biological dad, Raul, and talks to him every week. Because of this journey, she empathizes with Brock's children, who live in Australia with their mom. 'My biological father took a step back because that was what was best for me. And as much as people want to just see Brock as a man who abandoned his family—I know that's how it looks from the outside—he was 19 and 20 years old when he had kids. Staying in a toxic relationship wasn't going to be what was best for them,' Scheana told Us Weekly. The Bravo star 'genuinely hopes' that his kids can build a relationship with Brock in the same way she did with Raul, and is open to blending their family with their four-year-old daughter, Summer. 'His kids are now 12 and 13—it's going to be up to them if they choose to have us in their lives,' Scheana added. 'We are here with open arms and an open door if they're ever ready for that.' Speaking of Brock: Scheana also broke her silence about Brock cheating on her while she was pregnant. 'It really felt like I got my karma,' she told Us Weekly, referring to her own affair with Eddie Cibrian while he was married to Brandi Glanville. 'Did I deserve for [Brock to cheat on me]? No, but I told myself that I did.' Luckily, it seems she and Brock are doing just fine and working things out in therapy. 'I have a voice, and I want to use it,' she concluded. 'I am extremely proud of the woman I've become. I am not that 21-year-old girl chasing boys around clubs anymore.'

Scheana Shay Takes Swipe at Lisa Vanderpump for Gaslighting

Scheana Shay is opening up much everything in her new book, My Good Side. Including the affair she had with Eddie Cibrian during his marriage to Brandi Glanville, and how Lisa Vanderbilt "gaslit" her by pretending not to know about during Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2013. Speaking to Us Weekly, Scheana said "She low-key used my real-life pain to launch her TV empire — and what an empire she has. She gaslit me about it for a decade instead of just coming to me in the beginning. That's the thing with Lisa: She doesn't make mistakes. She makes moves and then calls them coincidences." Scheana went on to accuse Lisa of trying to manufacture drama on Vanderpump Rules—and said the restaurateur specifically told her to "stand up for" James Kennedy during a staff meeting after he was rude about Katie Maloney's outfit. "I got a phone call from Lisa," Scheana said. "She didn't want to fire James, so she needed someone to stand up for him. If you go back and watch, I'm getting a death stare from Lisa, like, 'When are you going to speak up? When are you going to stick to the script?' That's when I stopped following her orders, and I feel like the relationship changed after that." So far, Lisa hasn't responded to all this tuned!

Lala Kent knew about Brock Davies' affair

Lala Kent knew about Brock Davies' affair before it became public knowledge. The 34-year-old reality star has revealed that Scheana Shay made her aware of Brock's infidelity before she wrote about it in her new memoir, My Good Side. She explained on her Give Them Lala podcast: "I did [know about the affair]. But not for a while. "So that [excerpt] came out and Scheana called me and said, 'I just want to give you the heads-up that tomorrow this article is coming out with the excerpt. And I may need to tap you in. I'm very nervous.' "I won't share exactly what she said on the phone because that's between her and her husband. But I thought the excerpt that was pulled from her book was beautifully written. Well done." Despite this, Lala noted that Brock is "very hands-on and [a] great dad". She shared: "Brock has always been tremendous — well, not always, we've had our ups and downs and I've said some things to him and called out some red flags to me — but since then, what I have watched is him being a great father to Summer Moon. I've seen him with [my daughters] Ocean and Sosa. I just find him to be a very hands-on and great dad." Lala observed that everyone makes mistakes in life, and that Brock recognises his own error. She said: "What I know about life is it doesn't always go as we planned. There are a million moments that I look back on in my own life and go, 'Damn, if I could get a redo I would really do that differently.' I know for a fact he feels that way. This is my own opinion." Scheana recently confessed that her husband cheated on her while she was pregnant. The reality star wrote in her memoir: "I remained in a state of paralysed shock as he confessed that he'd cheated on me two years prior, when we were living in San Diego during the pandemic, while I was pregnant with Summer. "I had spent so much time fighting off my anxiety and convincing myself that just because Tom [Sandoval] cheated on Ariana [Madix] didn't mean Brock would ever cheat on me. Now, I was finding out just how wrong I was."
