Sky announces another price increase

Earlier this year, all of the UK's biggest Internet Service Providers announced price hikes for customers. This included Sky, who added around 6 per cent to monthly bills. Now, in a shock update, the company has announced another new price increase. The firm's NOW platform – which provides broadband for nearly half a million people – will soon cost £3 more per month. The change will come into force from July 4 2025 with anyone who has signed up to plans such as Brilliant Broadband, Fab Fibre and Super Fibre being affected. 'We understand that price increases are never welcome,' a NOW spokesman said. 'However, to continue improving and investing in our services, we need to adjust our pricing. 'Starting 4th July, the monthly cost of our NOW legacy Broadband products, including Fab Fibre, Super Fibre, and Brilliant Broadband plans, will increase by £3 each.' Customers affected by the change will be given at least 31 days' notice and will be allowed to leave penalty-free if they choose. Those who want to switch broadband deals will have to act quickly though, as exit fees will only be waived during this 31-day grace period. Those who don't mind the change don't need to do anything and their broadband will continue as normal, NOW said. 'We understand that things are tough right now, and so alongside investing in improvements, we're committed to keeping prices as low as we can,' the company added. 'The costs of providing services have, however, increased significantly, and it's affecting the entire industry.' Last year NOW's customers were hit by the same £3 price hike, while the year before it was raised by £3.50 per month.
