4 held under Goonda Act in twin cities
Hubballi: Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar said that four persons were held under the Goonda Act, and the advisory panel of the high court upheld the arrest order under the Goonda Act. On Tuesday, Shashi Kumar told reporters that last month, the police commissioner and additional district magistrate of Hubballi and Dharwad issued arrest orders under the Goonda Act, 1985, to detain them in various jails for one year. The High Court Advisory Board took up the hearing of the arrest warrant issued against the aforementioned rowdy-sheeters under the Goonda Act and upheld the order of the police commissioner. The arrest warrant was extended for one year as the rowdy-sheeters were in hiding, violating the land conditions given to them, and the opportunities provided to them to live in a better way. Old Hubballi police station shifted due to renovation
Hubballi: The Old Hubballi police station was shifted to Babu Jagjivan Ram Community Hall in Hubballi due to the renovation of the station on Sunday. MLA Prasad Abbayya inaugurated the station at the new venue. Speaking to the reporters, Abbayya said that since N Shashi Kumar took charge as police commissioner, he has brought in many changes in the department to stop criminal activities. Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar said that the new infrastructure was sanctioned for Old Hubballi police station, which is an important station from the point of law & order. "For the inconvenience of the public, the station will be renovated at a cost of Rs 5 crore. The work is expected to be completed in 11 months. A public-friendly environment will be created at the station" he added. In view of recent criminal activities in the city, the police commissionerate conducted a rowdy sheeters' parade at its police stations across twin cities on Sunday. Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar said that the police visited rowdy sheeters' houses last night and conducted searches for weapons and other items. "A total of 1,056 people, including 737 rowdy sheeters, 20 drug peddlers, 227 drug users, and 72 MOBs, attended the parade. A total of 1,158 rowdy sheeters' houses were inspected, and 80 mobile phones, 14 two-wheelers, and 2 deadly weapons were seized during the raids. Appropriate legal action will be taken in this regard. The parade will be conducted every one or two months," he informed.

Police arrest twenty accused after group clash
Hubballi: Police arrested 20 culprits, including rowdy-sheeters, in connection with a clash between two groups in three separate cases that took place on Wednesday at Mantur Road, Hubballi. Speaking to the reporters on Thursday, police commissioner N Shashi Kumar said that after the violence, a complaint was registered at the town police station. Five of these accused are rowdy-sheeters, and three are Modus Operandi Bureaus (MOBs). As a precautionary measure, action has been taken to deport these rowdy-sheeters under the Goonda Act, he said. Shashi Kumar stated that the incident cannot be classified as a gang war or premeditated - it is a group clash due to personal enmity. Ane investigation is under way, and when the CCTV footage was reviewed, it was found that one person was running around with deadly weapons. He is absconding, and action is being taken to arrest him. Out of these, 18 are aged 25, and two are 40 years old, he informed. Necessary steps are being taken continuously to prevent crime in the twin cities. A rowdy sheeter parade has been held. 5 held in prostitution case
Hubballi: Vidyanagar police arrested five persons in a prostitution case on Saturday. Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar said that a raid was conducted at a hotel in Hosur on Friday. Parade of rowdy-sheeters conducted in Hubballi
Hubbali: A parade of rowdy-sheeters under the commissionerate was conducted in response to recent anti-social activities on Thursday. Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar conducted the parade at CAR ground in Hubballi on Thursday, with around 980 rowdy-sheeters to reporters, Shashi Kumar stated that there are a total of 1,700 rowdy sheeters. Each police station has 60 to 200 rowdy-sheeters. A total of 50 people have been deported, and rowdy sheets were issued against the accused.
