NYT ‘Connections' Hints And Answers For Saturday, July 19

Connections hints and answers are here. Looking for Friday's NYT Connections hints, clues and answers instead? You can find them here: Time to begin the weekend with some Connections, and there is one group today that I think is borderline impossible to get on its own. How to Play Connections Connections is the second-most popular NYT Games puzzle game outside of the main crossword itself, and an extremely fun, free offering that will get your brain moving every day. Play it right here. The goal is to take a group of 16 words and find links between four pairs of four of them. They could be specific categories of terms, or they could be little world puzzles where words may come before or after them you need to figure out. And they get more complicated from there. There is only one set of right answers for this, and you only get a certain number of tries so you can't just spam around until you find something. There are difficulty tiers coded by color, which will usually go from yellow, blue/green to purple as difficulty increases, so know that going in and when you start linking them together. You pick the four words you think are linked and either you will get a solve and a lit up row that shows you how you were connected. If you're close, it will tell you that you're one away. Again, four mistakes you lose, but if you want to know the answers without failing, either come here, or delete your web cookies and try again. If you want to play more puzzles, you can get an NYT Games subscription to access the full archives of all past puzzles. These are the hints that are laid out on the puzzle board itself, but after that, we will get into spoiler territory with some hints and eventually the answers. The hints for the Connections groups today are: What Are Today's Connections Groups? Alright, the full spoilers follow here as we get into what the groups are today: What Are Today's Connections Answers? The full-on answers are below for each group, finally inserting the four words in each category. Spoilers follow if you do not want to get this far. The Connections answers are: Okay there was one easy clue, one sort of hard one, one pretty hard one and one I would consider bordering impossible. Green group was easy if you watch or play any football at all. I guess some people may forget that 'spike' is a football move, but yes, it can be pretty important to strategic play. Yellow group was doable if you could at least get three of these. I knew that some of these were water sources but I sort of forgot that 'tap' was one of them. I mean, tap water, of course, but it didn't occur to me at the time. Blue group - I did get nail, pin and tack pretty easily. Brad? I don't know what a brad is, and I was trying to find some sort of clue related to Brad Pitt. Needless to say, that did not go well. Looking up 'brad' I now know what it is, but I literally never knew those things were called that. Purple group? Oh come on. I have seen roughly 100 Ninja Turtles episodes plus all the movies growing up, and this still would have never occured to me. Don and Leo maybe, but Mic and Rap? When those may go together for a music-based clue? This was impossible. Follow me on Twitter, YouTube, Bluesky and Instagram. Today's NYT Mini Crossword Clues And Answers For Wednesday, July 9th

Looking for help with today's NYT Mini Crossword puzzle? Here are some hints and answers for the ... More puzzle. In case you missed Tuesday's NYT Mini Crossword puzzle, you can find the answers here: I'm a little late to this NYT Mini Crossword guide because they only become available to play at 7pm PT the evening before and that's the exact time my son and I went to an early showing of the new Superman movie! It's all in the timing. The good news is that I'll have a review of James Gunn's film up here on this blog very soon. The NYT Mini is a smaller, quicker, more digestible, bite-sized version of the larger and more challenging NYT Crossword, and unlike its larger sibling, it's free-to-play without a subscription to The New York Times. You can play it on the web or the app, though you'll need the app to tackle the archive. Spoilers ahead! Before we get to the answers, here's the first letter for each word in today's Mini. Across 1A. Subsides like the tide – E 5A. Leggings lead-in to 'lemon' – L 6A. Poet Robert with a "cool" last name – F 8A. Manhattan neighborhood near the East Village – N 9A. Quick joyride – S Down 1D. Fairylike figure of folklore – E 2D. Poet Robert with a "hot" last name – L 3D. Weakly hit fly ball – B 4D. Food made using a bamboo mat known as a 'makisu' – S 7D. Quite the heavy weight – O Okay, onto the answers! Remember, spoilers ahead! Across 1A. Subsides like the tide – EBBS 5A. Leggings lead-in to 'lemon' – LULU 6A. Poet Robert with a "cool" last name – FROST 8A. Manhattan neighborhood near the East Village – NOHO 9A. Quick joyride – SPIN Down 1D. Fairylike figure of folklore – ELF 2D. Poet Robert with a "hot" last name – LOWELL 3D. Weakly hit fly ball – BLOOP 4D. Food made using a bamboo mat known as a 'makisu' – SUSHI 7D. Quite the heavy weight – OAF Today's Mini I got off to a good start on this one, knocking out EBBS, LULU and FROST pretty quickly and filling in ELF in the process. FROST isn't really 'hot' but it was the first Robert poet I could think of, and it worked. I thought I had entered the wrong word entirely when I got to 2-Down and another 'hot' Robert, but this one was Robert BURNS which makes more sense for a 'hot' name. I knew SUSHI but my baseball knowledge prevented me from getting BLOOP until I'd grabbed NOHO and SPIN. But I accidentally typed in NOHH and that screwed up TON and confused me for a second. This one took me 1:20. How did you do? Let me know on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. If you also play Wordle, I write guides about that as well. You can find those and all my TV guides, reviews and much more here on my blog. Thanks for reading!

It's monsoon season here in the high desert mountains, and we've been getting some lovely rain, though we could certainly use more. Across 1A. Concern for dentists and nuclear physicists – D 6A. Get married in a hurry – E 7A. The world's all-time best-selling book – B 8A. Doughnut's shape, mathematically – T 9A. "Oof, that makes me cringe!" – Y Okay, onto the answers! Remember, spoilers ahead! Across 1A. Concern for dentists and nuclear physicists – DECAY 6A. Get married in a hurry – ELOPE 7A. The world's all-time best-selling book – BIBLE 8A. Doughnut's shape, mathematically – TORUS 9A. Secret collection – STASH Down 1D. "A Lannister always pays his ___" – DEBTS 2D. Poet T.S. ___ – ELIOT 3D. Hisser with a hood – COBRA 4D. Best-possible test grade – A PLUS 5D. "Oof, that makes me cringe!" – YIKES Let me know when you're ready for the next one! Today's NYT Mini Crossword Screenshot: Erik Kain I got this one fast, skipping right past 1-Across and plugging in ELOPE into 6-Across and then BIBLE for 7-Across. I wasn't sure what the mathematic shape of a doughnut was, so I skipped to 9-Across and entered STASH. I wasn't sure if these were right, but as soon as I started going down I knew I was on the right track. A Lannister, as we all know, always pays his or her DEBTS. The poet is T.S. Eliot. A hooded snake is a COBRA and the best grade is APLUS. At this point, DECAY was obvious and I wrapped up TORUS and YEESH at the same time with a final 'S'. Today's Mini took me 44 seconds. How did you do? Let me know on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. If you also play Wordle, I write guides about that as well.
