Cops confirm hardcore suspect and 2 women detained after Kajang chase
KUALA LUMPUR: A man with 23 criminal and drug offences is among three individuals arrested after police intercepted their vehicle in the Taman Kajang Mewah near Kajang early yesterday morning. The incident went viral after several video clips showing the police chase and the moment the suspects were caught went viral. Kajang police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof confirmed the incident and said the viral videos showed members of the police patrol unit (MPV) detaining the suspects. "The incident occurred at 2.10am, involving the arrest of three individuals, one man and two women aged between 28 and 30. "The male suspect has 23 prior records involving various criminal and drug cases. Further checks also found one gramme of syabu (methamphetamine) in their possession," he said in a statement today. He said all three suspects had been remanded for four days. The case is being investigated for obstructing public servants from carrying out their duties, which carried a jail term of up to two years or a fine of up to RM10,000, or both upon conviction. Investigations were also being conducted for drug possession and road offences. Naazron called on the public with information on the case to contact the nearest police station or Inspector Ahmad Zahrein Muhd Suod at 017-3818422.

Man detained for stealing bag from unlocked car in Kajang
KAJANG: A 42-year-old man has been detained for allegedly stealing a bag from an unlocked car here. A video showing a man dressed in black and wearing a helmet stealing the bag has gone viral on TikTok since May 21. Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Naazron Abdul Yusof said the investigation led police to arrest the suspect in Bangi at about 5.18pm on May 23. "We seized the suspect's motorcycle and the clothing he wore during the theft. The suspect has a prior criminal record for two offences," he said in a statement on Saturday (May 24). The suspect has been remanded until Monday (May 26), he added. "We are investigating under Section 379 of the Penal Code. We urge the victim or those with information on the case to contact Sjn Norhafizah Mat Yusof at 011-54539190 to assist with the investigation," he said.

Kajang police chief Naazron Abdul Yusof said the complainant had claimed that the security guard had extorted RM50 from her mother in a parking dispute on the hospital grounds. 'A 55-second video of the incident, uploaded by a TikTok user on May 19, sparked reaction and outrage from the public at the security guard's behaviour,' Bernama quoted him as saying. The local security guard allegedly took advantage of visitors parking in unauthorised spots by demanding money and making harsh threats. Naazron said the 31-year-old complainant filed a police report at about 11.30pm on May 19. 'The 28-year-old security guard was arrested on the same day and has been remanded until tomorrow to assist in the investigation,' he said. He said the case is being investigated under Section 384 of the Penal Code for extortion, and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 for insulting or abusive behaviour.
