More than 7,000 swimmers from over 100 countries to compete at World Aquatics Masters Championships

One senior was told by his doctor to hit the pool to improve his health and took to the water so well, he's now swimming for Singapore. Another felt that swimming as a hobby was not enough and decided to test herself by signing up for nine races. Nadine Yeam speaks to the pair, who will be competing at the World Aquatics Masters Championships in Singapore. The Masters is an event open to international and local participants aged 25 and above. There's no age ceiling or any specific performance standards to meet for entry, making it an accessible event for all. More than 7,000 competitors from over 100 countries are expected to compete across five aquatic disciplines from Jul 26.

Singapore open water team finishes 14th, calls it "good indicator" ahead of SEA Games

Singapore's open water swimming team says the World Aquatics Championships have served as a good indicator of where it stands. The team concluded its campaign with a 14th place finish in the 4 x 1,500m relay on Sunday morning at Sentosa. It's a result the team is proud of, especially with the relative youth of the team's swimmers; Singapore finished 18th the last time it competed in the relay event, during the 2022 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest. Team Singapore is also taking part in December's Southeast Asian Games, where open water swimming will make a comeback for the first time since 2019. Nadine Yeam with more.
