DMK is scared of central agencies: Nainar Nagenthran

COIMBATORE: The DMK has been scared of the central agencies since 2011 though deputy chief minister Udhayanidhi Stalin has claimed that they don't fear the Enforcement Directorate, BJP state president Nainar Nagenthran said on Tuesday. Speaking to reporters in Coimbatore, Nainar said the DMK had to finalise seat-sharing talks with Congress under the threat of an ongoing search by a central agency. 'If the DMK is not afraid of an ED probe into the Tasmac scam, then Udhayanidhi should explain why two of his friends have fled abroad,' Nainar said. When asked if the BJP would seek a Rajya Sabha seat from the AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, he said such decisions would be taken by the party national high command. The BJP MLAs would support the AIADMK in the Rajya Sabha elections, he said. On chief minister M K Stalin's New Delhi visit, Nainar said the CM would have explained the reason for his visit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 'We are not aware of what he spoke,' he said. He then appealed to all opposition parties to come together and oppose the DMK in the 2026 assembly elections.

Other BJP leaders, including former TN party chief K Annamalai and party national secretary Arvind Menon, had also participated in the march, which saw the participants waving tricolour and chanting patriotic slogans. They have been temporarily removed from their respective police stations and now posted at the city police control room," the source said.
