From flying to Seoul to taking leaves: How BTS fans will celebrate RM, Suga, Jimin, V, Jungkook's military discharge
It's a happy time for BTS fans as Namjoon, Suga, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook will be discharged from the South Korean military in the next few days. After months of waiting for the BTS members to complete their mandatory military service, fans are now all ready to celebrate as Namjoon, Suga, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook will reunite with Jin and J-Hope. Taking to Reddit, BTS fans shared how they will celebrate the homecoming of their favourite group. (Also Read | Namjoon reacts after scripting history at AMAs, talks about BTS' military discharge; fans react) BTS' oldest member, Jin, enlisted in December 2022 and was discharged on June 12, 2024. He was followed by J-Hope, who joined the military in April 2023 and completed his service last year in October. Namjoon, Suga, Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook will likely be discharged on June 10, June 21, June 11, June 10 and June 11, respectively. On Reddit, BTS ARMY wrote how they plan to celebrate the reunion of BTS members. A fan said, "I took several days off from June 9-14 so I can see the live videos of Taehyung, Namjoon, Jungkook and Jimin coming out of their military base when they get discharged. I don't wanna miss anything lol. Also gonna be watching Hobi's encore concerts through live stream. I'll be waiting for Yoongi's very first post online after June 21st." A person wrote, "I took the whole week off! I'm going to watch some OT7 content (because I haven't really been able to do so since they left. I'm dramatic, I know!) and look for events local to me." A comment read, "I'm flying to Seoul for a month-long trip just so I can celebrate this special moment with my friends whom I met because of these seven precious souls!" A Reddit user said, "I've been rewatching some of their old content and doing another listen of their discography from the beginning until now. It's going to be the best year ever!" "It hasn't hit me yet! I think it will only sink in when I see them perform together. I don't know how I will act, honestly," shared another fan. A person said, "On my marathon to watch bts run, and when I am done, boys are back." "I've been so excited just at them coming back that I haven't really thought of much other than just being happy. But I will be glued to my phone so I don't miss that live. I made a bet with a friend that would catch all post-discharge lives and i would kick myself if i miss them. I think it will be nice to rewatch all of their MVs in order or stream their discography from top to bottom," wrote a social media user. Not only the BTS members reunion, fans will also celebrate group's 12th debut anniversary with BTS Festa. On Sunday, BTS unveiled details for this year's two-week-long event celebrating the anniversary of their debut in June 2013. One of the highlights will be the offline event taking place on June 13-14 in Goyang city, where 20 booths, approximately, will be set up.

Namjoon reacts after scripting history at AMAs, talks about BTS' military discharge; fans react
BTS leader Kim Namjoon, aka RM, scripted history as he won in the Favourite K-pop artist category at the 2025 American Music Awards (AMAs). Taking to his Instagram Stories, Namjoon reacted to his win. However, he couldn't be part of the event as he is currently serving in the South Korean military. (Also Read | American Music Awards 2025 full list of winners: Billie Eilish wins big with 7 awards, Beyonce and BTS' RM honoured too) With the AMAs win, Namjoon became the first K-pop artist to win this award as both a soloist and in a group, too. Namjoon won the award after being nominated alongside BLACKPINK's Rose, ATEEZ, BTS' Jimin, and Stray Kids. The official Instagram page of BTS shared a post announcing Namjoon's win. It read, "Thank you for your love and support, #BTSARMY (purple heart emoji)." Re-sharing the post, Namjoon wrote, "Thank you @amaz #ARMY (kissing face emoji)." Namjoon also shared an article by Yonhap News talking about BTS' military discharge in June. Re-posting it, he wrote, "It will be soon, seriously, soon." Reacting to Namjoon's win, fans posted comments on Reddit. A person wrote, "Yaaaaayyyy!!! Congratulations RM! BTS Leader win the first AMA Kpop award. Let's go!!! Plus RPWP was a masterpiece!" "OMG, I'm so happy for him. I'm glad army was able to secure that win for him since he won't be nominated in Korea because his album is too genre-bending," a fan said. "I was very nervous about this one, because we had multiple members nominated. I'm sooo happy we managed to pull through for Joon!!" read a comment. Another BTS ARMY commented, "This makes me so happy, glad we could pull through and get this for him. He deserves this and so much more." "Namjoon won!!!! Oh my for his first US/western award as a solo artist! Fan voted too! He deserves this and more. Congratulations!!!" wrote another fan. "Also first year the AMAs introduced the kpop category too and Joon won it!," said a person. "I hope he wins more actual music awards for his solo artistry! (He's been massively snubbed). Hope he also wins the SMA for hiphop!" read a comment. "The fact that he won a fan-voted award makes me so so happy! Most (all?) of his wins for RPWP have been critic choices and selected ones (which is incredible and amazing!)," said another person. Another fan said, "Congratulations Namjoon!!!! Well deserved. I'm so proud of him and of Jimin for being nominated. First Kpop artist to win this award as both soloist and in a group too." Last year, RM released his second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person. Previously, BTS also made history at the 2022 American Music Awards by winning Favorite Pop Duo or Group for the fourth year in a row. RM, along with fellow BTS members Suga, Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook, will be discharged next month. Jin and J-Hope completed their military service last year.

'No originality?' ARMY slams SEVENTEEN for 'copying' BTS RM's 10th anniversary concept; HYBE faces backlash
When BTS began enlisting for their mandatory military service, many believed that HYBE was actively looking for their "next BTS." Despite each member — Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook — releasing solo albums during the hiatus, BTS as a group remained musically inactive. Naturally, attention shifted to SEVENTEEN, a group that had already cemented their popularity in South Korea. Now, as SEVENTEEN prepares to release their 5th full-length album on May 26 to mark their 10th anniversary, controversy has erupted — and ARMY is furious. The sticker that sparked the backlash It all started with a sticker on the HYBE building that reads: "SEVENTEEN will challenge eternity." To casual observers, it might seem like a harmless tribute. But to BTS fans, the similarity hits too close to home. Back in 2023, for BTS' 10th anniversary, the HYBE building was wrapped with a slogan: "BTS Presents Everywhere." A collaborative effort between Big Hit Music and the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the message emphasized BTS' global presence and enduring influence. A year later, the slogan conceptualized by RM for their 11th anniversary, the building displayed the fan-beloved phrase "APOBANGPO" — meaning "ARMY Forever, Bangtan Forever" — along with the "BTS & ARMY" logo. To ARMY, these tributes were meaningful, original, and rooted in BTS' legacy. Seeing another group replicate the format has struck a nerve — especially with BTS' long-awaited reunion just weeks away. HYBE under fire — again The criticism isn't limited to SEVENTEEN. Much of the backlash is aimed directly at HYBE. ARMYs accuse the company of repackaging BTS' ideas and applying them across its other groups in an attempt to replicate the BTS phenomenon. From In the SOOP to BTS' mobile game mechanics, and now the sticker branding — fans are calling out HYBE for what they view as lazy duplication rather than cultivating original identities for its other artists. 'Copying Namjoon's idea?': ARMY reacts Many ARMYs believe SEVENTEEN's anniversary display is not just inspired, but outright derivative of what BTS pioneered. The outrage stems from what fans see as HYBE's repeated pattern of giving other groups under its umbrella the same concepts originally created for BTS. Many took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and slammed the group and the agency. Many also point out the timing: June has always been associated with BTS' anniversary celebrations, and this year is even more significant as it marks their full-group return after military enlistment. One ARMY said, "This better be gone by June 1st. Like, that's purple month." this better be gone by june 1st like that's purple month Another commented, "Carats led an entire hate train on Namjoon only for SEVENTEEN to end up copying Namjoon's ideas." Carats lead a entire hate train on namjoon only for seventeen to end up copying namjoon ideas One wrote, "they want what BTS have so bad it's embarrassing at this point cus BTS built this whole fvckass company but what this group has done exactly other than sea pollution? the disrespect of stealing the company builder idea aka Namjoon… someone kick this group out we've had enough." they want what bts have so bad it's embarrassing at this point cus bts built this whole fvckass company but what this group has done exactly other than sea pollution? the disrespect of stealing the company builder idea aka namjoon… someone kick this group out we've had enough Another said, "Yes, it's a company, but I don't like it when they recycle things for other groups. The In the SOOP thing, now using Namjoon's idea…" Well, yes, it's a company, but I don't like it when they recycle things for other groups. The in soop thing, now using Namjoon's idea. One added, "You have one of the biggest artists in the world signed, and they're reuniting after three years of hiatus. This is how you fcking welcome them and their fans? By replacing their name with some nugus??? I don't care – this is pure disrespect to BTS and ARMYs. June is OUR damn month." You have one of the biggest artists in the world signed and they are reuniting after 3 years of hiatus. This is how you fvcking welcome them and their fans?!?!? By replacing their names with some nugus???? Idc but this is pure disrespect to BTS and armys. June is OUR damn month Another stated, "I've been telling you since forever that those leeches copy everything they do." I've been telling you since forever that those leeches copy everything they do What's next for SEVENTEEN and BTS? SEVENTEEN is set to release a 16-track album, which for the first time includes solo songs by all 13 members — a move that mirrors BTS' solo rollout during the group's hiatus. While the intention may be to highlight individual talent, the execution is now being seen through a critical lens. Meanwhile, BTS is preparing for one of the most emotional moments in recent K-pop history — their reunion. Jin and J-Hope have already completed their service. RM and V will be discharged on June 10, followed by Jimin and Jung Kook on June 11. Finally, SUGA is expected to complete his service on June 21, marking the official full-group comeback fans have been waiting for. 'Stop stealing': BTS ARMY slams HYBE for using RM's FESTA concept to promote SEVENTEEN ahead of June reunion
As the years turn into months, months into weeks, and weeks into days, the anticipation surrounding BTS's long-awaited return continues to grow stronger. The end of their military hiatus is no longer a distant dream—it's right around the corner. From celebratory messages like 'Congratulations BTS' to exciting countdowns such as D-30 and D-20, ARMYs are eagerly awaiting the moment their beloved Bangtan Boys reunite. After nearly three years apart, the reunion begins this June. RM and V are set to be discharged on June 10 and 11, respectively, with Jimin and Jungkook already home. SUGA will complete the final chapter of enlistments by returning on June 21, 2025, officially reuniting all seven members. However, amid this joyful anticipation, a wave of frustration has swept through the fandom. On May 22, BTS ARMY took to social media after spotting a large new slogan draped across HYBE's Yongsan building. The message, promoting SEVENTEEN, reads: 'SEVENTEEN WILL CHALLENGE ETERNITY.' This new banner replaced BTS' long-standing and iconic slogan, 'BTS PRESENTS EVERYWHERE,' just weeks before the group's homecoming and purple month. Outraged fans accused HYBE of insensitivity and even theft, claiming the new slogan borrows heavily from an idea that BTS—particularly RM, had discussed for their 10th anniversary. ARMYs flooded platforms like Twitter and Instagram with criticism, expressing disappointment and anger. One fan vented, 'That's so disgusting, I don't care abt anything, but here HYBE labels stole Namjoon's idea, HYBE.' Another echoed, 'It was Namjoon's unique idea to display afbf on the HYBE building. It's been done on a building built by BTS' success, on BTS' personal request.' A third demanded, 'HYBE better rip off that SVT label before June starts.' Questioning the company's decision, another user asked, 'So HYBE replaced 'BTS represents everywhere' with a slogan for a group that wouldn't even be here without BTS opening the doors?' Adding to the chorus, an ARMY shared, 'This better be gone by June 1st like that's purple month.' So why is SEVENTEEN's (SVT) slogan there in the first place? The explanation lies in SEVENTEEN's upcoming 10th anniversary, which falls on May 26, 2025. As part of their promotional campaign, the group has taken over the HYBE building's facade with the new banner. SEVENTEEN fans, known as CARAT, defended the move. One CARAT commented, 'Seventeen has always done this when they release a new album. Now that they're part of HYBE, it just happens to take place in that building. They're not offending or disrespecting anyone. BTS has always shown love and respect for other groups, so why this behavior?' Another added, 'Chill guys, it's their Anniversary coming—calm down.' While tensions remain high between the fandom and HYBE, it's important to remember that BTS and SEVENTEEN have long shared mutual respect. Despite the controversy, it's likely the artists themselves remain supportive of one another behind the scenes.

All About BTS' RM's Inspiring Journey Ahead Of His Discharge From Military
Last Updated: Namjoon started his journey in music by rapping in local hip-hop circles. With members Jin and J-Hope already discharged after completing their mandatory military service, the other five members, including BTS' leader Kim Namjoon, are all set to be relieved in June. ARMYs all around the world are waiting with bated breath for the reunion of their favourite artists after a nearly 3-year-long hiatus, which seemed like ages for them. Ahead of BTS' much-awaited reunion, here's everything you need to know about its leader, Namjoon, aka Rap Monster or Real Me (RM). Born on September 12, 1994, in South Korea, Namjoon is undoubtedly one of the best talents in K-pop, if not in the world. Belonging to a family of four members, including himself, he completed his studies at Apgujeong High School and Global Cyber University. He taught himself how to speak English with the help of the American sitcom Friends. As a student, he had an IQ of 148 and was also ranked among the top 1% of the nation in his high school exam. Since childhood, he was interested in poetry, which likely piqued his interest in performing arts. By the late 2000s, Namjoon began rapping in local hip-hop circles and later became more active in the underground Korean Hip-hop scene. He used to go by the name Runch Randa back then and even collaborated with rappers such as Zico. After a few failed attempts to enter the music industry, RM was finally given a spot by Bang Si Hyuk in Big Hit Entertainment (now HYBE). The company soon began forming a group called BTS. RM was the first member of the now globally popular boy band and trained for three years with his fellow members Suga and J-Hope. On June 13, 2013, RM and the other six members: Jin, J-Hope, Suga, Jimin, V and Jungkook, made their debut. Over the years, Namjoon has not only served as the leader of the group but also as its main rapper, songwriter, composer and producer. Apart from his work with BTS, the South Korean rapper has also managed to carve a niche for himself as a solo artist. In March 2015, he released his first-ever solo single, titled P.D.D. (Please Don't Die), a collaboration with American rapper Warren G, and dropped his first solo mixtape, titled RM, on March 17, 2015. More than three years later, he released his second mixtape, Mono and topped the Emerging Artists chart in the United States in 2018. Meanwhile, in December 2022, RM released his first studio album Indigo, led by the single Wild Flower. While serving in the military, the idol released his second studio album, Right Place, Wrong Person, followed by a documentary which captured the making of the project titled Right People, Wrong Place. The award-winning artist is also known for his philanthropic endeavours and his message of Self-Love. He has a keen interest in reading and art and enjoys a fan following of over 46 million on Instagram. On December 11, 2023, RM quietly enlisted at the Korean Army Training Center in Nonsan. After fulfilling his service as an active duty soldier for 18 months, he is reportedly going to be discharged on June 10, 2025. First Published:
