Opinion: Arsenal signing £62m ‘new Best and Maradona' rolled into one would bring PL title home

Opinion: Arsenal signing £62m 'new Best and Maradona' rolled into one would bring PL title home Arsenal have a lot of work to do in the January transfer window. Mikel Arteta's men are currently sitting six points behind league leaders Liverpool in the table, and the Merseyside outfit have a game in hand on the Gunners. Advertisement Arsenal fans would have expected much more before the start of the 2024/25 season, having pushed Manchester City so close over the past two campaigns. One of the factors behind the Gunners' struggles has been the lack of a potent threat down the left hand side. Sure, there have been some harsh red cards, and Arteta has had to deal with numerous injuries to key players, but Gabriel Martinelli's form has been a real concern. Whilst Leandro Trossard has still chipped in with the odd goal here and there, he hasn't been great overall either. It's time for Arsenal to make a big upgrade in the left wing role, and the perfect player is out there waiting for Arteta to make his move. Advertisement Arsenal need to make a big January statement Arteta simply has to strengthen his ranks at the Emirates this winter, if a charge at the Premier League title is possible. And Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is the perfect man for the job. He could be sold for around £62 million according to a publication in the winger's home country – Georgia Today. The Gunners must go all out to bring the 23-year-old Napoli attacker to north London, in order to solve Arteta's pressing left wing problem. Sky Sports suggest that his playing styles similar to that of iconic duo George Best and Diego Maradona. Kvaratskhelia's dribbling ability is second to none, and the way that he moves with the ball seemingly stuck to his feet like glue is a true joy to watch. Advertisement The Georgia international has five goals and three assists to his name in 15 Serie A appearances for Napoli so far this season. In total, he has 30 goals and 29 assists in 105 games for the Italian giants. The Napoli star is only 23, so he has many more years left to improve and reach even higher levels. In my opinion, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is on another level to Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard. If Mikel Arteta manages to bring him to Arsenal in January, it could well be the deal that brings the Premier League trophy to the Emirates for the first time ever. Stats via Transfermarkt.

Liverpool are reportedly open to making a record offer for him. How much is Liverpool ready to offer for Newcastle's Alexander Isak? Liverpool have approached Newcastle to sign Isak and are open to offering a deal in the region of £120million, according to The Athletic. Ex-footballer turned famous DJ dies ‘after being beaten by cops' at Ibiza house party when cops were ‘called over noise'

A FORMER footballer turned professional DJ has died after allegedly being beaten by cops at a house pary in Ibiza. Michele Noschese - known by his moniker DJ Godzi - was a former Napoli youth player before giving up sport for music. 6 6 6 The Italian DJ, 35, died after he was allegedly assaulted by cops at his home during a late-night party at his home Ibiza. Cops reportedly swooped on his home responding to a noise complaint, with the confrontation turning violent. He had been living in Ibiza for the last 10 years. Noschese was well known on the holiday island and performed frequently at music events in London, Paris, Barcelona, and New York. He died in the early hours of Saturday. His death was announced by numerous friends, online electronic music pages and has been widely reported in Italian media. It is currently under investigation by the Spanish authorities, as officers work to reconstruct the events leading up to the alleged assault. Michele was reportedly holding a party at his home when neighbours called the Civil Guard over the loud noise. The DJ clashed with several officers and was allegedly beaten, according to several witnesses. Hollywood A-lister stuns fans as she parties with them at Ibiza club His body was taken to a nearby morgue to undergo an autopsy. The authorities are waiting for the post-mortem results to establish his exact cause of death. Michele's family has reportedly requested an independent forensic medical report. The Spanish judiciary confirmed that they have opened an investigation, which is being closely monitored by the Italian Consulate in Barcelona. Fulvio Martusciello, MEP for the Forza Italia political party, said: "We want to know the truth about Michele Noschese's death. 'We want to understand what happened and what the Civil Guard's responsibility is. 'The sudden death of a young, successful and well-liked Neapolitan, an internationally renowned DJ, cannot remain in the shadows. Techno-house label Mood Child shared images of Michele with the message: 'We are truly saddened by this news. Michele had a kind heart and was part of the Mood family after releasing his track 'Love This Game' on Mood Edits.' 6 6 6 Michele said in an interview in 2023: 'My passion for music began when I was 15 years old, and then came my first decks. "My music is more tech-house than true house. Ibiza is the home of my music. 'I only lived in London for two years, but it helped me a lot in my musical development. 'Before my sets, I usually prepare a track list, but I never follow it because every place is different and every audience has its own needs. 'I tell any young DJ to work hard from morning to night in front of the PC to compose electronic music.' Michele was also a talented footballer and played in Serie C with Cavese and Benevento as well as Napoli's youth team. He was offered the opportunity to play professionally in the Swiss top flight but turned it down to become a DJ. He also had a degree in economics. An investigation into his death is ongoing.

Liverpool forward closer to Napoli move

The tour gives Slot a chance to assess his options ahead of the new campaign - with the head coach also having to integrate several new signings. He will be trying to work out formations that can include the likes of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez and - once confirmed - Hugo Ekitike. And we could end up seeing certain Liverpool players have their tour of Asia cut short in order to wrap out some outgoing deals. Chiesa NOT on Asian tour Chief among them are Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz - who could generate plenty of transfer income should Liverpool decide to part ways. One player however who HASN'T made the trip is . The Italian winger played and scored in Sunday's friendly win against Stoke City but will not feature on tour. He is out of the tour with a 'minor fitness issue' according to a report in the Athletic but his omission could spell the end of his short, unhappy spell at Liverpool. At least that is how the Italian media sees it, with Tuttosport describing his departure as a 'foregone conclusion' now that he's been left out. Napoli back in for Chiesa 'This is a clear sign for Chiesa, who is increasingly marginalized from Liverpool's coaching plans and ever closer to leaving the English club,' the report reads. Indeed, the same report suggests that Chiesa could now come back on the radar of Napoli - the Italian champions with a long-standing interest in the winger. Having signed Noa Lang from PSV and Lorenzo Lucca from Udinese, head coach Antonio Conte is still intending to improve his attacking options. Can Liverpool get their money back on Chiesa? A move for Bologna star Dan Ndoye has been complicated by Nottingham Forest's interest as well as the Swiss suffering an injury in pre-season. So the Partenopei could be enticed back to the table for Chiesa. 'Watch out for Napoli, who have long shown interest in the Italian winger and could make a move,' the report concludes. Liverpool signed Chiesa from Juventus last September for a fee that could reach £12.5m. The 27-year-old is under contract until 2028 - meaning the Reds should be able to get most of their money back on a sale. Wages could prove a sticking point however with Chiesa earning a reported £120k per week and Italian sides so far unwilling or unable to match those demands. **👉 **Liverpool set to increase transfer budget by £200m 🔗

Man Utd in Nicolas Jackson transfer boost with Chelsea striker snubbing two European giants to stay in Premier League

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) MANCHESTER UNITED have received a boost in the chase for Nicolas Jackson after he snubbed two European giants - but they will have to pay Chelsea £80m for the striker. The Senegalese ace has already turned down offers from Napoli and AC Milan in preference of staying in the Premier League. The Senegalese striker was then pushed further down the pecking order by Joao Pedro, who announced himself at the Club World Cup with two terrific goals on his full debut for the club. Pedro also scored in the final against PSG, as Cole Palmer stole the show to lead Chelsea to Club World Cup victory. Jackson's misery was compounded by the fact that he was left on the bench for the entire 90 minutes of that historic win —perhaps as punishment for being sent off twice in his previous four appearances for the club. READ MORE ON MAN UTD RASH IN A FLASH What Rashford's life in Barca could look like, including Messi's old town The former Villarreal striker is however a man in demand, with SunSport exclusively told that Napoli were the first to make contact with the player's entourage before eventually signing Lorenzo Lucca. AC Milan have also made their intentions clear, though sources say the player loves playing in England and would prefer to stay in the Premier League if he were to move. He still has seven years remaining on his current deal and Chelsea would ideally like to have two No9s competing for minutes and pushing each other to the limit. But the transfer window is very fluid and a project like that of Manchester United's could be of interest to the player. And if the £80m valuation is met, it could tempt Chelsea into a sale. BEST ONLINE CASINOS - TOP SITES IN THE UK 5 Aston Villa manager Unai Emery still has a special relationship with Jackson from their time together at Villarreal. He is a big fan of the forward's ability to link up play and sources have told SunSport that Villa have asked to be informed if the player becomes available. Chelsea hunting Morgan Rogers as Garnacho and £100m Jackson wanted by Villa | Transfers Exposed Manchester United have reportedly already held talks with one of Jackson's representatives, Ali Barat, in a move meant to test the waters and assess the viability of a deal. Last season, Jackson bagged ten league goals from 30 games and provided five assists as Chelsea finished fourth and secured Champions League football. He was also on target as they came from behind to beat Real Betis and win the UEFA Conference League. Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca expressed confidence in Jackson last season when he said he would like to "clone" the striker if the club were to sign another forward. Speaking in a press conference in April, he said: 'With Nico, we are a completely different team compared to when he was injured. We are happy with Nico as our striker. "My perfect No9 is exactly Nico Jackson. We already have a No9. It's not the summer now. If we can have a copy of Nico, it's OK. With Nico, we are a better team. Nico is the one we need.' Jackson is currently back in Senegal for his holidays after a long season but there should be clarity over his long-term future in the coming weeks. 5 TRANSFER NEWS LIVE - KEEP UP WITH ALL THE LATEST FROM A BUSY SUMMER WINDOW
