CM Naidu vows to empower 20 lakh poor families through P4 initiative
TIRUPATI: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday said he would serve as a guardian for poor children across Andhra Pradesh, calling the opportunity a 'God-given responsibility'. He was addressing a gathering at the Praja Vedika during an awareness meeting on the newly launched P4 (People-Public-Private-Partnership) programme. Naidu reiterated his long-standing goal to eliminate poverty from the State by 2029. 'My dream is to make Andhra Pradesh a State without poverty. Through the P4 initiative, we aim to uplift 15 to 20 lakh poor families,' he said, adding that the programme will be a global model and succeed with the blessings of Lord Venkateswara. 'If we support these golden children, their confidence will grow, and they, in turn, will uplift others,' he added, referring to the Bangaru Kutumbams (golden families) scheme under P4. P4 beneficiaries share their journeys of struggle & hope Beneficiaries of the P4 initiative shared emotional stories of hardship and aspiration at the Praja Vedika, drawing applause and support from officials, community leaders, and NGOs. A beneficiary named D Vinutha said that she scored 986 marks in Intermediate BiPC and is currently pursuing long-term coaching for medical entrance. Her sister Anitha has completed Intermediate, and her brother Ganesh is in Class 10. The siblings lost their mother in 2014 and their father during the COVID-19 pandemic and have been raised by their grandparents. 'If we get the right guidance, we will study well, reach good positions, and guide others,' Vinutha said. Rotary Club President Rajendra Shetty praised the Chief Minister for his vision and pledged that the Rotary Club would sponsor the education of Vinutha and her siblings. 'Chandrababu is a boon from Lord Venkateswara,' Shetty said. Another beneficiary, Eshwari, lost her husband in 2019 and receives no support from her in-laws. She is raising two sons, currently in Classes 8 and 5. Moved by her story, Senior Scientist Srinivas from Ras Vignana Kendram announced that his organisation would sponsor her sons' education and offer her a beautician training course.

CM Naidu unveils development agenda in Tirupati; vows plastic-free Andhra, clean politics
TIRUPATI: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday unveiled a comprehensive development agenda for the State, emphasising a commitment to public hygiene, technological innovation, and a decisive purge of criminal elements from politics. He also set a target to make the Secretariat plastic-free by August 15 and extend the ban to all municipalities by October, implementing a statewide ban by December. Addressing the gathering in Tirupati's 'Swarna Andhra-Swachh Andhra' programme, Naidu articulated his vision for 'Swarnandhra Pradesh' (Golden Andhra Pradesh) through 'Swachhandhra Pradesh' (Clean Andhra Pradesh), drawing parallels with Japan's renowned cleanliness culture. The Chief Minister expressed pride in Andhra Pradesh securing five Swachh Survekshan national awards, underscoring the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining cleanliness. Emphasising promoting reusable items such as steel glasses and raising awareness among government employees to lead by example, he urged citizens to 'chase away the plastic ghost,' promoting recycling and the concept of 'waste not being waste.' On the occasion, Naidu outlined several ambitious projects aimed at propelling Andhra Pradesh into a new era of development. A 'Quantum Valley' will be established in Amaravati, focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and aiming to make the capital a hub for quantum technology. Additionally, a 'Green Hydrogen Valley' will be established for clean electricity production, leveraging green hydrogen to combat pollution. Furthermore, a weather information app is slated for launch to provide advanced weather information to the public. By August 15, approximately 700 government services will be accessible through WhatsApp Governance (Mana Mitra), streamlining public interaction with the administration. The Chief Minister committed to the speedy completion of the Mallemadugu and Balaji Reservoirs. A significant promise was also made to bring Handri-Neeva waters via Kalyani Dam to Tirumala, specifically to the feet of Lord Venkateswara Swamy, and to Tirupati. Addressing concerns of the populace, Naidu announced that DSC recruitments would be completed by August 20. Furthermore, he confirmed the implementation of free bus travel for women across the State starting August 15, a key promise under his government's 'Super Six' schemes. He also highlighted the successful implementation of the 'Talliki Vandanam' scheme, providing financial support to mothers based on the number of their children.

CM felicitates sanitary workers
Tirupati: As a token of appreciation of sanitary workers whose efforts helped Municipal Corporation Commissioner Narapureddy Mourya (MCT) bag the national award in Swachh Survekshan competition, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu felicitated the sanitary workers on Saturday. During his visit to the Police Parade Ground for Praja Vedika programme, the Chief Minister in the presence of Commissioner Mourya felicitated the sanitary workers. The Chief Minister appreciated Municipal Commissioner Narapureddy Mourya, health department officials and workers for their hard work im keeping the pilgrim city clean and tidy and wanted the corporation to do its best in making the city cleanest in the country. The two workers who were much elated for getting felicitated by none other than the State Chief Minister said it enthused the entire 1,000 and above sanitary workers in the corporation to work with renewed vigour to see the corporation achieves many more awards.

Andhra's Bapatla Municipal High School gets a major facelift
GUNTUR: In a shining example of responsive governance and community-driven development, the Bapatla Municipal High School has undergone a complete transformation within a year, fulfilling a promise made by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu during a landmark event. On December 7 last year, a grand Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) was held on the school premises, where parents, teachers, and members of the School Management Committee collectively brought several long-standing infrastructure issues to the attention of the Chief Minister. Responding to their concerns on the same platform, Naidu assured immediate action and directed officials to upgrade the school within a year. True to his word, the school now boasts 24 newly constructed classrooms, a spacious dining hall, and well-equipped science laboratories. Local MLA Vegesana Narendra Varma Raju and Bapatla District Collector J Venkata Murali played a key role in ensuring the timely completion and maintaining the quality of the work. The transformation was executed at a rapid pace, setting a benchmark for government school development. HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh lauded the achievement, stating, 'We kept our word. I congratulate everyone who contributed to this remarkable transformation. I urge students and teachers to uphold the name of Bapatla Municipal High School by striving for academic excellence.' According to Bapatla District Education Officer S Purushottam, the school has 747 students and 27 teachers.

Chief minister to visit Tirupati tomorrow
Tirupati: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will be arriving here to participate in a series of programmes on July 19. According to official sources, the Chief Minister will participate in Swachh Andhra - Swarna Andhra programme and later in Praja Vedika. Before his departure from Renigunta airport to return to Vijayawada, the Chief Minister will participate in a programme at IIT near Yerpedu. District Collector Dr S Venkateswar along with JC Subham Bansal and SP V Harshavardhan Raju on Thursday held a meeting at Tirupati airport on the arrangements including security and also reviewed the arrangements where the Chief Minister will participate. The Collector said the Chief Minister will also visit Kapilatheertham and later the Corporation waste management project at Thukivakam village near Tirupati. ASPs Ravi Manoharachari, Venkat Rao, RDO Rammohan, Ruia Superintendent Dr Radha and fire officer Ramanaiah were present.
