"Brave daughters of BSF displayed exceptional valour": PM Modi praises women's contribution in Operation Sindoor

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], May 31 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday praised the women personnel for their contribution during Operation Sindoor and said that the Border Security Force's 'brave daughters' displayed exceptional valour. Addressing the 'Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Mahila Sashaktikaran Mahasammelan' in Bhopal, PM Modi emphasised that during the worship of Shakti, we offer sindoor, which today has become a symbol of India's valour. 'In Pahalgam, terrorists not only shed the blood of Indians, but they also attacked our culture. They tried to divide our society. These terrorists have challenged the women's power of India -- a challenge that has now turned into a nightmare for the terrorists and their handlers,' he said. 'Operation Sindoor is India's largest and most successful counter-terrorism operation. Our forces destroyed terrorist hideouts in places that even Pakistan's army had never imagined. This operation made it loud and clear that proxy wars through terrorism will no longer be tolerated. Now, we will strike even inside enemy territory, and those who support terrorists will also pay a heavy price,' PM Modi asserted. Further, the Prime Minister asserted that Operation Sindoor has also become a symbol of India's 'Nari Shakti'. 'Now, 140 crore Indians are saying: If you fire bullets, be ready for a response with bombs. Operation Sindoor has also become a symbol of 'Naari Shakti. We all know how significant the role of the BSF (Border Security Force) was in this operation. BSF's daughters were holding the front lines from Jammu to Punjab, Rajasthan, and the Gujarat border. They gave a strong reply to cross-border firing. From the Command and Control Centre to destroying enemy posts, the brave daughters of the BSF displayed exceptional valour,' he said. Prime Minister Modi also emphasised that from schools to battlefields, the nation today has unprecedented trust in the courage of its daughters. 'For the first time, the doors of Sainik Schools have been opened to girls. Before 2014, only 25% of NCC cadets were girls, but now that number is heading toward 50%. The first batch of women cadets has passed out from the National Defence Academy (NDA). Today, women are being deployed in frontline positions in the Army, Navy, and Air Force. From flying fighter planes to serving on INS Vikrant, women officers are demonstrating outstanding bravery,' PM Modi said. Highlighting his government's initiatives for women's empowerment, the Prime Minister said that there was a time when women were kept away from new technologies. 'But today, the government is making efforts so that our women lead the way in modern tech. In agriculture, a drone revolution is happening. Through the NaMo Drone Didi initiative, the confidence and income of rural women are rising. Today, a large number of our daughters are becoming doctors, engineers, and scientists. In all of our major space missions, our mothers and sisters are working as scientists. In the Chandrayaan-3 mission, over 100 women scientists and engineers were involved,' he said. (ANI)

Op Sindoor has become a symbol of India's Nari Shakti: PM Modi

Bhopal, May 31 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said 'Sindoor' which symbolises feminine strength in the Indian culture and traditions has now become a symbol of India's valour. 'Operation Sindoor stands as a testament to the strength and valour of India's Nari Shakti,' the Prime Minister said while addressing the Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Mahila Sashaktikaran Mahasammelan here, an official statement said. 'India is a land of deep-rooted culture and traditions, where sindoor symbolises feminine strength,' emphasised Modi, mentioning that "even Lord Hanuman, immersed in devotion of Lord Ram, adorned himself with Sindoor, and it is offered in Shakti puja rituals. Sindoor has now become a symbol of India's valour.' Referring to the attack in Pahalgam, PM Modi said that the terrorists not only shed the blood of Indians but also struck at the nation's cultural ethos and attempted to divide society. Most significantly, they challenged India's Nari Shakti and this challenge proved fatal for the terrorists and their handlers. 'Operation Sindoor is India's largest and most successful counter-terrorism operation in history,' the PM emphasised, highlighting that Indian armed forces dismantled terrorist bases at locations where Pakistan's forces had never anticipated action. He remarked that Operation Sindoor has sent a clear message that proxy wars through terrorism will not be tolerated. He said that India will not only eliminate threats within its territory but will also ensure that a heavy price is paid by those supporting terrorists, and added, 'Every Indian now echoes the same sentiment - if you fire bullets, you will face artillery shells'. 'Operation Sindoor stands as a testament to the strength and valour of India's Nari Shakti,' Modi asserted. He highlighted the crucial role played by the Border Security Force (BSF) in this operation, noting that from Jammu to Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, a significant number of BSF women personnel were at the frontlines. He commended their resolute response to cross-border firing and their active participation in command and control centres, as well as in eliminating enemy positions. Modi said the world is witnessing the capability of India's daughters in national defence. Over the past decade, the government has undertaken several measures to strengthen women's role in security forces. 'The doors of Sainik Schools have been opened for girls, marking a historic step. In 2014, only 25 percent of National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets were female, whereas today, their participation is increasing towards 50 percent,' Modi said. He lauded a landmark moment as the first batch of women cadets passed out from the National Defence Academy (NDA) yesterday. He emphasised that women are now serving at forward positions in the Army, Navy, and Air Force. He also highlighted that women officers are showcasing their courage and leadership from fighter jets to the INS Vikrant warship, demonstrating their growing role in India's defence forces. Highlighting a recent demonstration of courage by the women of the Indian Navy, referencing the Navika Sagar Parikrama, Modi noted that two brave women officers completed a nearly 250-day maritime journey, circumnavigating the globe. He remarked that their achievement is a testament to the ability of India's daughters to conquer even the most formidable challenges. He underscored their growing role in safeguarding the nation, whether in anti-Naxal operations or countering cross-border threats. From the land of Devi Ahilyabai, he once again saluted the strength and determination of India's Nari Shakti. He underscored the vision of women-led development is being placed at the core of the nation's progress. He stressed that every major government initiative is centred around empowering mothers, sisters, and daughters. While underscoring the government's continuous efforts over the past 11 years to economically empower women, Modi said, 'Before 2014, over 30 crore women did not have a bank account. The government facilitated the opening of Jan Dhan accounts for them, where funds from various schemes are now being directly transferred.' Emphasising the government's commitment to increasing women's participation in policy making, the Prime Minister highlighted the progressive steps taken over the past decade to achieve this goal. For the first time, India had a full-time woman Defence Minister and has a woman Finance Minister. He further said that the representation of women from panchayats to Parliament has steadily increased, with 75 women currently serving as Members of Parliament. He also stressed the importance of further enhancing this participation, underscoring that the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam embodies this vision. UNI RBE RN

City turns patriotic with chants, colours & conch shells

1 2 Patna: A wave of patriotic passion swept through Patna on Thursday evening as PM Narendra Modi led a spectacular roadshow following the inauguration of the new terminal building at Patna airport and the laying of the foundation stone for the civil enclave at Bihta. The city's streets transformed into a canvas of national pride, draped in saffron banners, tri-colour flags and striking artistic tributes to ' Operation Sindoor '. The 6-km procession route – from Aranya Bhawan near Patna Airport to the state BJP headquarters on Beerchand Patel Path – was dotted with 32 decorative stages and canopies, showcasing vibrant folk art, cultural performances and symbolic tributes to the military's recent response to Pahalgam terror attack. Undeterred by the sweltering heat, thousands thronged both sides of the route, waving flags and chanting with fervour. Many clambered onto rooftops for a glimpse of the PM while others captured the moment with selfies. Cries of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai", "PM Narendra Modi Zindabad", and "Desh Ki Sena Zindabad" echoed in the air as flower petals rained down on the passing cavalcade. The PM stood in the front seat of his vehicle, waving to the jubilant crowds throughout the 70-minute journey, which passed through Sheikhpura Mor, Nehru Path, IPS Mess Mor, Hartali Mor, Patna high court and the Income-Tax roundabout. The finale at the state BJP office was marked by a grand display of lights and flowers. It was not just infrastructure worth Rs 50,000 crore that was being celebrated, but also a tribute to the might of the Indian Army and the empowerment of women through the lens of Nari Shakti in Operation Sindoor. Replicas of BrahMos missiles stood proudly across the city. Women in red saris and vermillion welcomed the PM at multiple intersections. The scenes along the way were vivid and moving – a woman on a balcony blew a conch shell; a man in spectacles and a mustard kurta performed aarti as Modi's convoy passed; children dressed in army uniforms stood tall on stage near Patna Women's College, flanked by posters of Rafale jets and the two women leaders of Op Sindoor. Another stage featured a girl dressed as Bharat Mata while near Sheikhpura Mor, women in yellow saris performed a traditional cultural show. Manish Kumar Sinha, who came from Jagdishpur in Bhojpur with a band of drummers, said, "We welcomed the PM to the beats of the drum. I came only to get a glimpse of the PM and thank him for his befitting reply to Pakistan in Op Sindoor." Rani Devi, a resident of China Kotti who waited for two hours, said, "I am feeling elated. It is the second time I saw the PM after his roadshow in May last year. He waved at me."
