Dubai aims to keep household water free from chemical, bacteria contaminants
Dubai Municipality, in partnership with the Community Development Authority (CDA), has launched the 'Safe Water for a Healthy Community' initiative to ensure household water remains free from chemical and bacterial contaminants. This program focuses on improving water quality, especially in senior citizens' homes and villas. The initiative will begin with inspections in 42 homes across 10 areas in Dubai. Engineering teams will assess water systems, collect samples, and test them at Dubai Central Laboratory. He emphasized that safe water is essential for maintaining health and daily comfort. Dubai steps up food safety checks for Ramadan
Dubai Municipality is ramping up efforts to ensure public health and food safety during Ramadan with enhanced monitoring campaigns and field inspections. These measures target food establishments, markets, malls, restaurants, bakeries and more, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Inspections also extend to event venues, hotels, beauty centres, cafes, gaming areas and labour accommodations. At ports of entry, food safety controls have been strengthened, including the sampling of high-consumption Ramadan products to ensure quality and safety. The Municipality has granted permits to over 100 establishments hosting Ramadan tents and outdoor events, ensuring adherence to health and safety guidelines. In addition, public awareness campaigns are underway, focusing on food storage, preparation and reducing waste.
