Rajiv Thakur reveals why he was dropped from the Kapil Sharma Show; says, ‘Obviously apko nikala gaya hoga'
The Great Indian Kapil Show has been winning hearts with its third season and fans are enjoying every bit of it. While Navjot Singh Sidhu made a comeback to the Kapil show, what caught many eyeballs was comedian Rajiv Thakur being missing from the screen. After a lot of speculation and rumours, he has finally revealed why he's been missing from The Great Indian Kapil Show. In a conversation with Pinkvilla, Rajiv reacted to the same and joked, 'Nobody takes rest in such a big show, obviously apko nikala gaya hoga.' He further mentioned how his dates didn't match and had other work commitments. He shared, 'Dates didn't match. They were calling in-between, but I had prior commitments, and I don't like breaking them. In those 55 minutes, Kapil, Sunil Grover, and Krushna Abhishek have to perform their skits, there's also the guest segment. There just wasn't enough space left. And if you can't do justice to a character, then what's the point?" While recalling his comedy circle days, he said, 'She was very young at the time, and I didn't feel right cracking jokes at her expense. So I gave her all the punches and told her to mock me instead. 'Main ek bacche ki salary pe jee raha hoon'—may have brought laughs on the show, but it had unintended consequences. People started taking that literally. They began thinking I was boring or unsuccessful. That perception stuck with me off-screen. But can a boring person do 14 seasons of a comedy show over 8 years?" While Rajiv was seen in the first few episodes of The Great Indian Kapil Show, he has been missing from the recent episodes of the show.

Kapil Sharma-hosted The Great Indian Kapil Show recently made a comeback, with its OG permanent guest, Navjot Singh Sidhu, returning to his seat. However, the latest promo of the comedy show does not feature the former cricketer. The second episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3 is all set to host the team of Metro In Dino including its stars Konkana Sen, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Anupam Kher and director Anurag Basu. The promo started with the stars dancing to a romantic tune in pairs cutting to Kapil Sharma revealing an observation of his own. The comedian is heard saying, 'In Fitoor, Aditya (Kapur) worked with Katrina (Kaif), and she got married. In Sadak 2, he worked with Alia (Bhatt), and she got married. So, Sara… maybe,' hinting that she might also end up tying the knot soon. However, what caught people's attention is an empty seat beside her which is designated for Navjot Singh Sidhu. The promo then introduces other characters of the show Kiku Sharda, Krushna Abhishek and Sunil Grover. The cast also plays a dramatic game of musical chairs, leaving the audience in splits. The new episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3 is all set to stream on Saturday at 8 pm on Netflix.

Ace comedian Kapil Sharma recently returned with Season 3 of his popular show, The Great Indian Kapil Show. While the premiere episode of TGIKS is creating a buzz on social media, Kapil is also making headlines for his hefty remuneration. As per a report in Siasat Daily, The Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon actor charges a massive Rs 5 crore per episode for his show. He has reportedly maintained this fee since Season 1, where he earned around Rs 65 crore for the 13-episode season. The report also mentioned that Kapil Sharma earned the same amount during Season 2, and his fee is expected to remain unchanged for Season 3. If that continues, he's set to earn another Rs 65 crore, bringing his total earnings from the series to a staggering Rs 195 crore. The premiere episode featured Bollywood icon Salman Khan , who entertained the audience with intriguing stories from his life and a few surprising revelations. Season 3 also marked the much-anticipated return of Navjot Singh Sidhu , joining Archana Puran Singh on the judge's panel. Kapil opened the episode by welcoming the audience and Navjot Singh Sidhu, joking that the platform had to shell out a hefty amount to bring Sidhu back on the show. Kapil said, "I want to thank Netflix for giving us that much budget that we could afford Sidhu paaji."
