(Facebook pic) PETALING JAYA : The mother of a six-year-old boy who was allegedly murdered is currently recovering in hospital after attempting to take her own life following the child's death. Johor women, family and community development committee chairman Khairin-Nisa Ismail said the social welfare department had sent officers offering psychological assistance to the family yesterday but that they were turned down. 'We have been made to understand that M Tishant's mother tried to take her own life and has been sent to hospital for treatment,' she said, according to Utusan Malaysia. She added that they were awaiting a medical report on the mother to determine what forms of aid, in addition to psychological support, could be provided to the family. Tishant, who was reported missing at Taman Bukit Indah in Johor on July 24, was found buried in Jempol, Negeri Sembilan, four days later. The child's body was discovered after his 36-year-old father was arrested. An autopsy found that he had been strangled to death with a cable tie. Police investigations also found that the suspect was in the process of separating from his wife. REMBAU, July 29 — Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof confirmed that a six-year-old boy whose body was discovered buried in a remote area in Rompin, Jempol, was killed by strangulation with a cable tie, following a post-mortem at Rembau Hospital. 'The autopsy revealed the boy died due to pressure from a cable tie around his neck,' he said when contacted by Bernama today, adding that the case is now being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. The investigation first began under Johor police jurisdiction, classified under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 and Section 323/18 of the Domestic Violence Act and Missing Persons procedures. Ahmad Dzaffir said the suspect is still in remand in Johor, but will be brought to Jempol for further questioning in the coming days. 'We will also be recording statements from witnesses, particularly the victim's mother,' he added. Meanwhile, Jempol police chief Supt Norhisham Mustapar said a hoe, believed to have been used by the suspect to dig the boy's grave, was recovered from a secluded area near Jalan Bahau-Rompin. Police had discovered the victim's body around 4.30 pm yesterday, after a tip-off led them to the burial site. Earlier, Iskandar Puteri police chief ACP M Kumarasan confirmed that a man had been remanded for seven days from July 25 to assist with the murder investigation. The suspect lodged a police report in Bukit Indah on July 24, claiming the boy had gone missing. Kumarasan said the man first told police the child had disappeared around 4 pm on July 23 after being left alone in a car while the suspect went out to buy food. The case was initially classified under Section 182 of the Penal Code for lodging a false report. — Bernama

REMBAU, July 29 — The motive behind the suspected murder of a six-year-old boy, whose body was found buried in Rompin, Jempol yesterday, has yet to be determined, Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof said. He said that the main suspect, the boy's 36-year-old biological father, has been arrested and preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is believed to have been experiencing marital problems with his wife. 'The post-mortem began at noon today. We were informed that the suspect had domestic issues and is in the process of getting a divorce. He has not been cooperative in the investigation,' he told Bernama here today. Meanwhile, a sombre setting surrounded the Rembau Hospital forensic unit, where the boy's mother, accompanied by close family members from Johor Bahru, was present to identify the body. Ahmad Dzaffir told the media yesterday that the boy's body was found around 4.30 pm, adding that the victim is believed to have been buried after being murdered. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. Separately, Iskandar Puteri district police chief ACP M. Kumarasan today confirmed that a man has been remanded for seven days from July 25 to assist in the investigation. SEREMBAN, July 29 — A convenience store employee pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court here today to a charge of criminal breach of trust (CBT) involving money belonging to a cooperative amounting to almost RM200,000. Noorazwin Zullkifli, 36, made the plea before Judge Mohamad Kamil Nizam. She is charged as the then clerk at Koperasi Kampung LB Johnson Seremban Berhad, with committing CBT by misusing the cooperative's POS terminal device to transfer money amounting to RM199,491.79 to her personal account. The offence was allegedly committed between Feb 2, 2023 and March 22 last year at the cooperative's office in Bandar Enstek, Nilai. The charge, under Section 408 of the Penal Code, provides imprisonment for up to 14 years, whipping and is liable to a fine, if convicted. She was allowed bail of RM12,000 with one surety and ordered to report to a nearby police station once a month and surrender her passport to the court. The prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutor Syamimi Farhana Muhammad while Noorazwin, who has three children, aged between four and seven years, was represented by lawyer Ahmad Muzhaffar Abdul Razak. JOHOR BAHRU, July 29 — A man in his 30s is on remand for seven days to assist police investigations into the death of his son, whose body was discovered in Rompin, Negeri Sembilan, after he lodged a report claiming the child had gone missing in Bukit Indah on July 24. Iskandar Puteri police chief ACP M. Kumarasan said the man, who is the victim's biological father, had initially alleged that his son disappeared on July 23 around 4 pm after he left the child alone in a car while going out to buy food. 'However, subsequent investigations led to the discovery of the victim's body in Rompin, Negeri Sembilan,' he said in a statement issued late yesterday. He said the suspect was arrested at about 12.20 pm on the same day he filed the false report, and preliminary checks confirmed that the man tested negative for drugs and had no criminal record. The suspect is being remanded for seven days starting July 25 to assist in the investigation under Section 182 of the Penal Code for making a false report. Meanwhile, Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof was reported as saying that the police were informed about the discovery of the body of a child, who was suspected of being murdered and buried at the location at about 4.30 pm yesterday.
