Nara Lokesh to inaugurate V.R.C. High School in Nellore on July 6
Minister for Education, IT and Electronics Nara Lokesh will inaugurate the recently renovated V.R.C. High School in Nellore on July 6, said Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister Ponguru Narayana. The Minister made the announcement after inspecting the school along with his daughter Ponguru Sharini on Thursday. Later, he conducted a review meeting with the teachers at the school premises and gave directions to the teachers on topics related to teaching and child care. He suggested the teachers to be role models for everyone and lauded the staff of NCC and municipal corporation officials for completing the renovation works at a fast pace. Speaking to the media, he said, 'The school is being renovated with international standards. The sports ground is very attractive. The classrooms and labs are suitable to provide digital education. The music and dance rooms have also been set up. Of the 5,000 admission applications, 1,050 poor students have received the opportunity to study.' 'On the lines of V.R.C. High School, 11 more high schools will be developed in the city within a year. The remaining schools will also be modernised in the next four years. The goal is to establish Nellore-based schools as a model in the country. I thank Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Education Minister Lokesh for providing this opportunity.' Though the Education Minister will officially inaugurate the school on July 6, the classes will be commence for Class VI to IX from July 7, Class I to V from July 8, and for nursery from July 9. Joint Collector K. Karthik, Municipal Commissioner Y.O. Nandan, V.R.C. High School principal Venkat Rao and others participated in this programme.

Nine arrested in TDP leader's murder case in Prakasam district
Vijayawada: In a major breakthrough in the sensational murder of liquor businessman and Telugu Desam Party leader Muppavarapu Veeraiah Chowdary , the Prakasam district police arrested nine individuals allegedly involved in a meticulously planned contract killing. The murder, which took place on April 22 in Ongole, exposed deep-rooted political rivalries, land disputes, and criminal networks extending from rural Andhra Pradesh to Hyderabad and around 7:30 PM on April 22, Veeraiah Chowdary was reviewing liquor shop accounts with his staff on the second floor of Shashirekha Agency Building in Sambasiva Nagar, Ongole. Four unidentified assailants barged into the office, stabbed him repeatedly with knives in front of shocked employees, threatened anyone who tried to intervene, and escaped the scene on a motorcycle and a scooty. The assailants fled via the Guntur Flyover, triggering panic across the commercial on a complaint lodged by accountant Adusumalli Bhaskar Rao, a case was registered under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Ongole Taluk Police Station. On Wednesday, Ongole police arrested nine accused. The police recovered seven mobile phones, three knives, and a small black bag. Two vehicles used in the crime were also arrested accused are Borlagunta Vinod Kumar (32), Tuvar Vamsi Krishna, also known as Jalsa Vamsi (28), Bellamkonda Venkata Goutham (32), Mannem Teja, also known as Bunny (21), Marturi Kiran Kumar (39), Sheikh Sameer (22), Alla Sambasiva Rao, also known as Sambayya (61), Veeragandham Devendranath Chowdary (30), and Thota Srinivasa Rao (40). Three suspects—Muppa Suresh, Obili Nagaraju, and Golla Ruthyendra Babu, also known as Naani—remain investigation revealed that Veeraiah, a former mandal parishad president and an influential figure in NG Padu mandal, was involved in liquor and real estate businesses. He had longstanding political and personal rivalries, particularly with Alla Sambayya and Muppa Suresh, both from his native village. The trio had a fallout over village affairs and local political dominance. As tensions escalated, Sambayya allegedly plotted to eliminate Veeraiah, hoping to assert control over the village and extend influence in SN Padu constituency politics. Sambayya found a willing collaborator in Vinod Kumar, who blamed Veeraiah for losses in his sand was offered a financial deal: a waiver of his Rs 10 lakh debt and a promised cash reward post-execution. Sambayya and Vinod's association deepened during meetings related to a property dispute in Hyderabad, where they also collaborated on intimidating a Chennai-based debtor for a separate recovery operation. This criminal camaraderie laid the foundation for the murder leveraging his connections with Nellore-based rowdy elements, brought in Tuvar Vamsi Krishna, Mannem Teja, and Bellamkonda Goutham, all with criminal backgrounds. Vinod's associate Sameer arranged the getaway motorcycle. Another associate, Thota Srinivas, tracked Veeraiah's movements and updated the team on the day of the finalising the plan, the accused made multiple reconnaissance visits to Ongole, stayed in lodges and PG accommodations, and procured knives for the operation. On the evening of April 22, Srinivas confirmed Veeraiah's presence at the office. A scooty with weapons and cash was strategically parked at a pre-decided location and marked for approximately 7:35 PM, the killers—Vamsi, Teja, Goutham, and Nagaraju—stormed into Veeraiah's office. After stabbing him fatally, they escaped on the motorcycle and scooty, both of which were later found abandoned. Documents recovered from the vehicles helped the police trace the accused. One of the crucial leads came from documents found in the abandoned scooty, which revealed identities and connections. The breakthrough led to the arrest of nine accused, all of whom reportedly confessed to their roles during preliminary believe the killing was politically motivated, deeply entwined with local power struggles. The involvement of individuals from multiple districts and the methodical planning have raised concerns about rising political violence in rural Andhra Pradesh. Efforts are on to apprehend the remaining absconding accused. Police sources confirm that the investigation will continue to explore political and financial dimensions, including the source of funds for the contract killing and the extent of involvement of local leaders.

SEIL Energy's fire brigade saves lives in 157 medical and fire emergencies last year, says official
Nellore-based independent power producer SEIL Energy India Limited's fire brigade saved several lives and valuable properties in 157 medical and fire emergencies (seven fire incident calls, 13 labour pain calls, 17 road accident calls and 120 other serious emergency calls) during the last one year. Sunil Kumar Gupta, Head – O&M (Operations and Maintenance) at SEIL Energy India, revealed said this while lauding the efforts of the company's fire brigade team in supporting the community during emergencies. He highlighted their world-class safety practices on the occasion of 'National Fire Service Fortnight' valedictory ceremony here on Monday. The company has conducted various fire safety awareness programmes and competitions for employees and associates during the last 15 days. He presented the awards and prizes to the winners of various contests. The fire brigade team demonstrated its preparedness with various fire-fighting mock-drills and exhibited its commitment to ensure safety for its employees and the community.
