'XO, Kitty' Season 3: Everything We Know (So Far!) About the Netflix Series' Next Chapter

The second season of the 'To All the Boys' spinoff premiered in January 2025 XO, Kitty isn't signing off just yet. The Netflix original series — a spinoff of the popular To All the Boys film franchise — follows Kitty Song-Covey (Anna Cathcart) as she moves to Seoul to attend the Korean Independent School of Seoul (K.I.S.S.) and reunite with her long-distance boyfriend, Dae (Choi Min-young). Their reunion proves to be more complicated and dramatic than romantic, leading Kitty to find new friends — and romances — while building a life in the South Korean city. "Immediately when she gets there, within seconds after she sees [Dae], that's all kind of thrown out the window," Cathcart revealed to PEOPLE in May 2023. "And she's thrown upside down into this whole new world that she was not expecting to find in Korea." The first season premiered in May 2023, with the second following in January 2025 — but what is in store for season 3? Here's everything to know about XO, Kitty season 3, including who is being added to the cast and when fans can expect to start a new year at K.I.S.S. Has XO, Kitty been renewed for season 3? Yes, XO, Kitty has been renewed for a third season. Netflix made the announcement in a video posted online on Feb. 14. In the clip, Cathcart accepts a delivery of a bouquet of roses, reading a card that says: "Roses are red, violets are blue, there's a third season of XO, Kitty in store for you!" She then reaches into a gift bag, revealing a season 3 script. "It's official! Season 3 of XO, Kitty is in the works," she says ecstatically. Which cast members are returning for XO, Kitty season 3? The main cast members who play Kitty's friends and K.I.S.S. classmates are returning for the third season. According to Tudum, that includes Cathcart, Minyeong Choi, Gia Kim, Anthony Keyvan, Sang Heon Lee, Regan Aliyah, Hojo Shin, Peter Thurnwald, Joshua Lee, Sasha Bhasin, Michael K. Lee, Jocelyn Shelfo, Philippe Lee, Han Bi Ryu and Sunny Oh. The series is also adding three new cast members to the upcoming season: Sule Thelwell, Soy Kim and Christine Hwang. "Grateful beyond words to join the XO, Kitty family! It's been nothing short of magical," Kim wrote on Instagram in July 2025. "The cast and crew are not only wildly talented, but endlessly kind. I feel so lucky to be part of something special. And witty. And charming." What happened at the end of XO, Kitty season 2? Season 2 ended with Kitty scoring a scholarship to K.I.S.S., securing her return to the school for her senior year. In the finale, Kitty is about to confess her feelings to Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee), before he leaves to spend his summer on tour, with his dad, and older brother, pop star Joon Ho (Peniel Shin). The two say goodbye and embrace, almost sharing a kiss. After Min Ho walks away, Kitty yells out, asking if she can join him on the tour. He smiles and nods for her to come along. "I know we left fans on a cliffhanger at the end of Season 2 but I can promise season 3 will be worth the wait, including our first summer episode," season 2 showrunner Jessica O'Toole said at the time of the renewal, per Deadline. "Not to mention plenty of romance, friendship, adventure … and kissing. Lots of kissing." According to Deadline, Valentina Garza, who wrote the season 2 finale and was a writer on seasons 2 and 3, took over as showrunner for the upcoming season. When does XO, Kitty season 3 come out? A premiere date for XO, Kitty season 3 has not been announced, but production on the new set of episodes wrapped in July 2025. On July 17, Netflix posted a behind-the-scenes compilation video on Instagram, with the caption: "Put a bow on it because XO, KITTY: SEASON 3 filming has wrapped!" Cathcart also celebrated the end of filming with an Instagram post showing off some XO, Kitty season 3 pajama pants. "And that's a wrap💌💌 my heart is so full," she wrote in the caption. While there's no release date for the third season, season 2 wrapped production in June 2024 and the season debuted a few months later in January 2025. Where can I watch XO, Kitty? 10 best Netflix original movies to watch this summer

For a decade now, Netflix has been making original movies of varying kinds and qualities. Frankly, most of them have been pretty bad. At some point, though, Netflix decided that it wanted to try to win Oscars, which meant that it had to, at least sometimes, make good movies. Not every movie on this list was an Oscar contender, but Netflix has built an impressive library with many original gems. These are 10 of the best Netflix original movies to watch this summer. To All the Boys I've Loved Before (2018) Is this the most serious movie on this list? Absolutely not, but Netflix deserves credit for producing a teen rom-com that is something more than just slop. To All the Boys I've Loved Before is, in most ways, an utterly predictable romantic comedy. Recommended Videos It follows a love–obsessed Korean American teen who pretends to date the most popular boy in school, only to find herself falling for him. What's shocking about this movie is how stylish it is, how funny it is, and how utterly winning its two central performances are. It's basically guaranteed to leave you smiling. You can watch To All the Boys I've Loved Before on Netflix. The Irishman (2019) Martin Scorsese's late-period masterpiece, The Irishman, is a gangster movie that reminds us of the horrors of that lifestyle. The story centers on an Irish American who gets involved with the mob and becomes a close associate of Jimmy Hoffa. As he becomes one of the mafia's principal enforcers, he begins taking out every person he once had a relationship with. The lasting images of this movie are of a man utterly alone, recounting the life he lived to people who no longer care who he was or what he did. You can watch The Irishman on Netflix. Da 5 Bloods (2020) One of the best Spike Lee movies of the past decade, Da 5 Bloods tells the story of a group of Black Vietnam veterans who reunite in the present day to get the treasure that they buried in the jungle decades ago. As they move toward the treasure, their disagreements about politics and the world come to the surface, as does all the trauma they experienced during the war. Da 5 Bloods is one part action movie and one part meditation on how Black men have been abused by this country. Plus, it features a career-defining lead performance from Delroy Lindo. You can watch Da 5 Bloods on Netflix. Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022) This sequel, Knives Out, had a lot to live up to after Netflix gave Rian Johnson hundreds of millions of dollars to make it. Thankfully, Glass Onion didn't disappoint, even as it followed a very different murder mystery that is just as intriguing. The film follows brilliant sleuth Benoit Blanc as he is invited to attend a reunion of old friends after one of them has become fabulously wealthy and used that wealth to elevate the others. When the bodies start to pile up, Blanc must figure out exactly what's going on and who might be responsible. It's just as funny and inventive as the first film and looks even more expensive. You can watch Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery on Netflix. The Lost Daughter (2021) Olivia Colman is one of the great actresses of the past decade, and The Lost Daughter features one of her best performances. The film tells the story of a college professor who becomes obsessed with a young woman and her daughter while vacationing in Greece. As we learn more about her difficulties raising her own children, we come to appreciate exactly why this character is motivated in the way that she is. The Lost Daughter is, above all else, a movie about the joys and perils of parenthood, and one that provocatively asks us to examine whether having kids is really worth it after all. You can watch The Lost Daughter on Netflix. Marriage Story (2019) A heartbreaking movie about the loss of love, Marriage Story tells the story of a divorce between two people who love each other but no longer want to be married. Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson deliver heartrending performances, but what makes Marriage Story so special is how real it all feels. In a movie where the two people at the center agree to the divorce, things get contentious nonetheless as lawyers get involved, and their son becomes a casualty of their desire to defeat one another. You can watch Marriage Story on Netflix. Mudbound (2017) A harrowing story of life in the South in the early 20th century, Mudbound is told from two dueling perspectives. The film follows two veterans of World War II, one Black and one white, as they return to Mississippi after the war and deal with the poverty and racism that awaits them there. Because of its multiple perspectives, Mudbound highlights the widespread suffering experienced by many, particularly emphasizing how Black individuals often faced the harshest consequences. It's not an easy movie to watch, but if you can sit through it, it's deeply rewarding. You can watch Mudbound on Netflix. The Power of the Dog (2021) One of the best thrillers Netflix has ever produced, The Power of the Dog tells the story of a rancher living in the 1920s who lives with his brother. When his brother chooses to marry a widow and brings her and her son into their home, he disrupts the carefully structured lives they have maintained. As the young boy gets closer to the reclusive, curmudgeonly rancher who has been antagonizing his mother, he comes to realize that there are things about himself that he's hiding from the world. Surprising, unsettling, and moving, The Power of the Dog is not what you might expect. It's even better. You can watch The Power of the Dog on Netflix. Okja (2017) Anyone who has seen Parasite is likely aware that Bong Joon-ho is not a subtle filmmaker, and Okja is definitely not a subtle film. The movie follows a young girl and her genetically engineered superpig, Okja, after they are separated by a corporation that wants to capture creatures like the pig and create exceptionally tasty meat. As this young girl tries to rescue her closest friend, she meets animal rights activists, butty doctors, and other superpigs that need her help. It's a movie about the evils of the meat industry, and it's certainly not subtle. But man, does Okja rule. You can watch Okja on Netflix. Private Life (2018) A heartbreaking movie about two people who are trying to navigate the world of infertility and adoption, Private Life is small, quiet, and heartbreaking. Anchored by two incredible performances from Paul Giamatti and Kathryn Hahn, this movie is really about two people who are trying to make their marriage work, even as they deal with what often seem like impossible circumstances of trying to have a child. In particular, Hahn is incredible as a woman who worries that she's missed her chance and wants to change the circumstances of her life. You can watch Private Life on Netflix.

‘Time to get excited!' Why Stranger Things could be back to its best for its final episodes ever

Objectively, you should not be excited about the return of Stranger Things. Over the years, the Netflix smash has in many ways come to represent everything bad about television's streaming era. It began as a fun piece of fluff, a one-and-done collection of overt 1980s film references, designed as the first part of an unconnected anthology. But then it exceeded expectations, so the Duffer brothers found themselves having to pull an entire mythology out of thin air. And a bloated one at that, full of (at best) bottle episodes about punky young superheroes and (at worst) self-indulgent episodes that grind on for hours and hours. And because the episodes were so gargantuan, they took years to make. This is why you shouldn't be excited about the return of Stranger Things. Whatever happened in the last batch of episodes has long since receded from memory and they were so long that you cannot possibly build up the enthusiasm to watch them all again. It is less a series and more a Man v Food challenge, served up long after you've forgotten what your last meal tasted of. And yet the first trailer for the final batch of Stranger Things episodes has dropped and goddamn it if I'm not suddenly really excited about it. What happens in the trailer? It's hard to say. Joe Keery turns a wheel in a van. A bunch of lights flicker. There are flamethrowers. Someone jumps between trees during a lightning storm, pursued by a demon. A bunch of four-legged monsters prowl around a kitchen like raptors in Jurassic Park. There are machine guns and fast cars, and crying and flying and Vecna throwing a sort of burning tornado at the sky, all accompanied by Deep Purple's Child in Time. Does it make sense? Not really. Is it so overloaded with mythology and superfluous characters that you felt you needed a diagram to remind you who everyone was? Almost certainly. But could I feel my heart start to race as it went on? Yes. The Stranger Things trailer isn't the best trailer I've ever seen, but it might qualify as the most trailer I've ever seen, and sometimes that does the trick. More than anything, it reinforces the direction that Stranger Things has been heading for the past nine years. There will be not a single atom of subtlety in these episodes. Any nuance will be forced out by a powerhouse of spectacle. Things will explode. There will be CGI by the gallon. Characters will operate exclusively in emotional red zones. For better or worse, you will end this series exhausted. However, there is one small hint that – despite the heavy metal frenzy that whirls around it – Stranger Things knows how it will stick the landing. It comes in the form of a snatch of dialogue between Hopper and Eleven. It isn't much ('Let's end this, kid') but it's a sign the key relationship of the entire series is back on track. Despite all the excess – the monsters, the nostalgia – Stranger Things was always a show about parenthood. It's the story of a man who finds a weird little girl with nowhere to go, who helps him rebuild himself after experiencing the most devastating bereavement. Any time it has leant into the found-family dynamic between Hopper and Eleven, Stranger Things has found an emotional wallop that cannot be overwhelmed by the whiz-bang chicanery of the rest of the show. This is where Stranger Things began and I pray this is where it will end. That's the pull of this trailer. The final season of Stranger Things will surely be too long. There will be too many storylines. There will be children riding bicycles even though they are visibly so old they should really have been driving their own children to school for the past decade. But if it remembers to focus on its heart – on the dynamic between a man and a girl who saved each other – then it might be worth getting excited about Stranger Things after all.
