‘Avengers: Doomsday': Everything We Know
With San Diego Comic-Con in full swing this July, more details of the upcoming Avengers films have been released. Though the next installment is over a year away still, fans are incredibly excited for what the MCU has in store. Part of that excitement comes with the release of the new Fantastic Four film, which introduces the new Big Bad played by none other than Robert Downey Jr. Doctor Doom is coming and he is making worlds collide—worlds that the films have been setting up for over two decades. Despite this epic threat, with a new batch of Avengers and Fantastic Four family members on the scene, things are bound to get pretty heroic. Here's everything we know about Avengers: Doomsday so far. The story is still a bit under wraps, but fans of the comics have a pretty good guess. Ultimate Comics: Doomsday was released in 2011 in several books and it follows the Fantastic Four working with other Marvel superheroes to prevent a powerful villain from destroying their timeline. Cast announcements have pointed to this being the film's premise, especially with Robert Downey Jr.'s return as Doctor Doom. The recent release of the new Fantastic Four movie, as well as actors from previous Marvel X-Men films slated to star, means we will likely see a mix from all the timelines/MCU franchises trying to take down Doom. And, since Doom looks exactly like Iron Man, it probably means that he is some alternate timeline version of Tony Stark who went very, very dark. Seriously, who won't be in this movie? Aside from Downey Jr., other confirmed cast includes Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, and James Marsden as Cyclops. In March 2025, Marvel confirmed more cast during a livestream, including Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Paul Rudd, Tom Hiddleston, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, and Simu Liu. Then there's the Fantastic Four team confirmed to appear, with Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm. Downey Jr. even made his first appearance as Doom in their movie in a mid-credits scene. There are also big stars from amongst the Thunderbolts (or the New Avengers) to choose from, including Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, and Lewis Pullman as Bob. Avengers: Doomsday already has a release date: Dec. 18, 2026. It will be followed by a part two, Avengers: Secret Wars in December 2027.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Matches Thunderbolts Rotten Tomatoes Score on Release Day, Find Out
The Fantastic Four: First Steps has matched the score of Thunderbolts* on Rotten Tomatoes. The Pedro Pascal starrer, which released today, July 25, went on to gain 88% from the critics on the tomatoes meter and 93% from the audience on the popcorn meter, which is the same as Thunderbolts*. The latter film was dropped in theaters on May 2, 2025, and was well-lauded by the fans of Marvel. The movie starred Sebastian Stan and Florence Pugh, amongst others. The ratings for both the superhero films are considered to be great. The audience verdict is out It has been a great year for Marvel so far. The studios have managed to pull themselves back up after a terrible previous phase, which included movies like Thor: Love and Thunder and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The fans are loving the stories and new faces taking over the franchise and powering it up with their brilliant acting skills. Speaking of new faces, Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby have impressed the viewers of Fantastic Four with their presence onscreen, and the results are quite visible in the data provided above. Moreover, Stan and Florence Pugh's latest film worked as the revival of Marvel. The reviews garnered by Thunderbolts* were excellent, and the cast went on to call themselves the 'New Avengers.' According to the media reports, the Thunderbolts as well as the first family of Marvel will join some of the original Avengers in the Doomsday to fight the evil of Victor Von Doom. The other cast members of Avengers: Doomsday include Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Tom Hiddleston, Paul Rudd, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and others. Florence Pugh Reveals the Secret Measures Behind THUNDERBOLTS*'s Big New Avengers Twist — GeekTyrant
Marvel fans are still unpacking the Thunderbolts* twist that confirmed what many suspected… the Thunderbolts are the New Avengers. The moment came late in the film, with Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Valentina standing before cameras to give her squad a flashy new label. According to Florence Pugh, who was awesome in the film as Yelena Belova, the secrecy on set regarding this twist was intense. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Pugh explained just how far they went to keep the reveal under wraps: 'We shot a version where she was like, 'The New Thunderbolts!' And everyone was like, 'Woo!' And then we took all of the background [actors] out and shot Julia's line, which was kind of cool.' That second take, the one with the 'New Avengers' name-drop, was the version that made it into the film. It's clear Marvel wanted to hold onto that moment until the last possible second, and the effort paid off. That fun reveal lands with a punch not unlike Tony Stark's 'I am Iron Man' back in 2008. It's funny, though, because a couple days after the film was released, Marvel Studios spoiled it for everyone anyway as the rebranded the film, The New Avengers . But it wasn't just the cast keeping things quiet. Louis-Dreyfus had known about the twist long before cameras rolled… years before. In that same EW interview, she shared: 'I met with Kevin Feige and Louis D'Esposito many years ago, when they first pitched me this whole idea of playing Val, and they pitched me this. So, I've really known for a long time. I haven't said a thing to anyone!' While Louis-Dreyfus didn't clarify exactly when she was let in on the secret, she's been in the MCU fold for over five years now, meaning she could've known as early as Black Widow or The Falcon and the Winter Soldier . With Thunderbolts* landing on digital July 1 and on physical media July 29, fans will soon have a chance to rewatch the reveal and debate its implications all over again.
