Actor Ravi Mohan and his estranged wife Aarti Ravi have been making headlines for a long time now due to the controversy surrounding their divorce. Amid all this, it has now been reported that Aarti has demanded a monthly alimony of Rs 40 lakh from Ravi post their divorce. As reported by News18 Tamil, Aarti and Ravi attended court this week for their divorce proceedings at the 3rd Additional Family Welfare Court in Chennai. During the hearing, Judge Thenmozhi reviewed Ravi Mohan's petition, in which he clearly stated that reconciliation was not possible and that he wanted a divorce. In response, Aarti Ravi filed a counter-petition requesting Rs 40 lakhs per month as maintenance, citing the need for financial support after separation. The hearing was then adjourned until 12 June. What Is Aarti Ravi's Allegation Against Ravi Mohan? Aarti Ravi has publicly accused Ravi Mohan's rumored girlfriend, Kenishaa Francis, of causing the breakdown of their marriage. In response to Ravi Mohan, also known as Jayam Ravi, who previously referred to Kenishaa as the 'light' of his life, Aarti recently commented that this 'light' has only brought darkness into their lives. She further stated that their marriage failed due to the involvement of a 'third person'. 'The truth needs to be said – once and for all. Money, power, interference, or control-none of these are why our marriage suffers. There is a third person in our marriage. What broke us wasn't something between us-it was someone outside. The 'light of your life" brought only darkness into ours. That's the truth. This person was already in the picture-long before any divorce papers were filed. This isn't guesswork. I have proof," her statement read. Aarti Ravi and Ravi Mohan tied the knot in 2009, and he announced that he was parting ways with her in 2024.
