Generate Key Takeaways Warning: this article contains spoilers from the Season 13 finale of The Masked Singer — read at your own risk! The lucky 13th season of The Masked Singer ended on May 7 with Grammy-winning country star Gretchen Wilson as Pearl winning the coveted Golden Mask over Andy Grammer as Boogie Woogie, Meg Donnelly as Coral, and Brian Kelley as Mad Scientist Monster. How does Wilson stack up to all of the winners who've come before her? Vote in our poll below to tell us your favorite of all time. More from GoldDerby "I worked really hard, I prayed really hard, and I got so far," Wilson told host Nick Cannon about her struggles in her personal life. "This opportunity has really proven to me that there's nothing I can't do." When asked about how this TMS honor compares to others in her life, such as winning a Grammy for "Redneck Woman," the 51-year-old artist declared, "My greatest accomplishment obviously is my daughter ... but this is definitely something for the books." SEEWhy 'The Masked Singer' is taking a longer-than-ever break after Season 13 Every year on The Masked Singer, a gaggle of secret celebrities in extravagant costumes compete to win the coveted Golden Mask. Fox's wild and wacky reality TV who-sung-it began as a mild curiosity in 2019, but soon grew to become one of television's most-watched shows. Fans at home analyze every clue and costume detail as they try to guess who's hiding behind the masks. But in the end, only one celeb is named the winner by a combination of votes from the studio audience and panelists Robin Thicke, Jennifer McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, Nicole Scherzinger, and Rita Ora. Season 1: T-Pain as Monster This rapper and hit-making producer made history as the first winner of The Masked Singer on Feb. 27, 2019. None of the panelists correctly guessed T-Pain was really the Monster, making it one of the most shocking reveals of all time. The runner-up that season was Donny Osmond as Peacock. Season 2: Wayne Brady as Fox This five-time Emmy winner, comedian, and Broadway star had developed a plan from day one to confuse the panel and lead them to believe he was Jamie Foxx. It worked ... sort of. In the Dec. 18, 2019, finale, Jenny and Ken both picked Jamie as their final guess, while Robin and Nicole both knew Wayne Brady was the Fox. The runner-up that season was Chris Daughtry as Rottweiler. Season 3: Kandi Burruss as Night Angel At long last, a woman took home the Golden Mask on May 20, 2020. The Night Angel was revealed to be business mogul/Grammy-winning songwriter/realty TV star Kandi Burruss, as correctly guessed by Robin and Jenny. The runner-up that season was Jesse McCartney as Turtle. Season 4: LeAnn Rimes as Sun Country superstar LeAnn Rimes became the second female winner after claiming the Golden Mask on Dec. 16, 2020. Both Jenny and Nicole correctly named the Sun's true identity as the former child singer. The runner-up that season was Aloe Blacc as Mushroom. Season 5: Nick Lachey as Piglet Nick Lachey became the fifth champion when he claimed the Golden Mask on May 26, 2021. Only Jenny was savvy enough to name the boy band singer as her first impression, winning her a second consecutive Golden Ear trophy. 'This experience has [reminded] me how much I love singing, how much I love music,' the artist formerly known as Piglet said as the final credits rolled. The runner-up that season was JoJo as Black Swan. Season 6: Jewel as Queen of Hearts Jewel became the sixth champion when she claimed the Golden Mask on Dec. 15, 2021. None of the panelists correctly guessed the music superstar as their first impressions, however all but Ken switched to her for their final picks. 'It really is an honor to be in the hall of costumes and with the other amazing winners,' said the artist formerly known as the Queen of Hearts. The runner-up that season was Todrick Hall as Bull. Season 7: Teyana Taylor as Firefly Teyana Taylor became the seventh champion when she claimed the Golden Mask on May 18, 2022. In the grand finale of this Good, Bad, and Cuddly cycle, both Robin and Jenny correctly guessed the singer-songwriter-actress-dancer was hiding underneath the Firefly mask. The runner-up that season was Hayley Orrantia as Ringmaster. Season 8: Amber Riley as Harp Amber Riley became the eighth champion when she claimed the Golden Mask on November 30, 2022. In the grand finale of this Queens and Kings edition, only Nicole was savvy enough to correctly guess the Glee star was masquerading as the golden instrument. The runner-up that season was Wilson Phillips as Lambs. Season 9: Bishop Briggs as Medusa Bishop Briggs became the ninth champion when she claimed the Golden Mask on May 17, 2023. Amazingly, she was supposed to unmask during the third episode of the season, but was saved when the judges rang the 'Ding Dong Keep It On' Bell. Nicole was the only panelist to name the British singer in the finale. The runner-up that season was David Archuleta as Macaw. Season 10: Ne-Yo as Cow Ne-Yo became the 10th champion when he claimed the Golden Mask on December 20, 2023. Both Nicole and Robin correctly guessed that the three-time Grammy winner was hiding underneath the female cow costume. The runner-up that season was John Schneider as Donut. Season 11: Vanessa Hudgens as Goldfish Vanessa Hudgens became the 11th champion when she claimed the Golden Mask on May 22, 2024. New judge Rita and Jenny both correctly guessed that the High School Musical star was hiding underneath the fish costume. The runner-up that season was Scott Porter as Gumball. Season 12: Boyz II Men as Buffalos Boyz II Men became the 12th champion when they claimed the Golden Mask on Dec. 18, 2024. They're the first group ever to win the Fox singing competition. All of the judges were able to guess the identity of this Grammy-winning trio. There is no mistaking those voices! The runner-up that season was Mario as Wasp. Season 13: Gretchen Wilson as Pearl The underwater jewel opened up during the 13th cycle by belting out the following songs: "Saving All My Love for You," "(Don't Fear) The Reaper," "Here You Come Again," "Conga," "Your Love," "You Don't Own Me," "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree," and "I'll Stand by You." Generate Key Takeaways In the grand culmination of lucky Season 13, the final four battle it out for the Golden Mask trophy on The Masked Singer! Boogie Woogie, Coral, Mad Scientist Monster, and Pearl take the stage for the last time as panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Rita Ora make their final guesses for a chance to win their own Golden Ear trophy. Four mystery celebs will be unmasked, but only one can walk away a winner as Nick Cannon hosts "The Two-Hour Lucky Season 13 Finale" episode of The Masked Singer airing Wednesday, May 7 (8 p.m. ET/PT) on Fox. More from GoldDerby So far this season, 11 famous faces have been unmasked: Cedric the Entertainer as Honey Pot, Oscar De La Hoya as Fuzzy Peas, Aubrey O'Day as Ant, Scheana Shay as Bat, Flavor Flav as Space Ranger, James Van Der Beek as Griffin, Candace Cameron Bure as Cherry Blossom, Method Man as Stud Muffin, Erika Jayne as Yorkie, Matthew Lawrence as Paparazzo, and Edwin McCain as Nessy. Find out who the final four are by following our live blog below. Pearl Kicking things off is the show-stopping Pearl, who shares what making the finale means to the performer who always brings shine and sizzle to the stage: "Every time I put on this Pearl costume, I think it's so strange that I've pulled off being this bejeweled princess. It's so unlike me. I'd say the hoodie and sweatpants is more in line with who I am. What can I say? I'm gritty, raw, unapologetic. I've always been that way. A lot of times, especially when I was first starting out, it stood in the way of my success. I'll never forget this one time I was singing for a record exec, and I see out of the corner of my eye, him writing down 'N-O.' I was about to break into tears right then there, so I just closed my eyes, kept on going, and finished the audition. Turns out, what that note said was 'N-O-W.' Sign her now! What a difference one letter can make. Even after all these years, I think people still don't know what I'm capable of — until now! Being here, I've been able to come out of my shell and show my range. Tonight, I'm hoping to get another 'W.' It would mean the world to win that Golden Mask trophy." Pearl sang "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" by KT Tunstall before receiving a surprise phone call from her daughter. Pearl responded, "That means the world. I'm so proud of my daughter. To hear her say that she's proud of me — I'm floored. I am crying." The panelists' then reviewed their guesses for the season including Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Kacey Musgraves, Madonna, Joan Jett, Pat Benatar, and Melissa Etheridge. Coral Next up is Coral, who shares what this journey has been like for her: "As a little girl, I had those Audrey Hepburn Breakfast at Tiffany's dreams. Staring at the old Hollywood movies from the other side — wishing one day to be just like the glamorous stars in them. My wish came true! I became a part of one of the biggest franchises of all time. Now there are little girls watching me! It's so surreal. But, I didn't want it to just stop there. For years I was trying to release my music — to be a pop star. But people weren't listening. They just thought of me as that girl from those movies. The Masked Singer is the perfect place to come when you've got something to prove. Here, I was given the opportunity to show that I am a triple threat. I've grown so much since I've started this. I've found my confidence, I've found my range, and I've even found that I can do it all in knee-high boots! Tonight, I'm dreaming about that trophy. Winning it would take me over the moon." The Masked Singer Coral Coral sang "Moon River" by Audrey Hepburn before receiving a surprise phone call from her dad. Coral responded, "It means so much. Coming on this show, I just wanted to be more confident in my singing and performing. My dad and mom are my biggest supporters." The panelists' then reviewed their guesses for the season including Rachel Zegler, Meg Donnelly, Sofia Carson, Dove Cameron, Hailee Steinfeld, Hilary Duff, Selena Gomez, Brittany Snow, and Anna Kendrick. Boogie Woogie Next up is everyone's favorite disco daddy, Boogie Woogie, who shared this: "Before I got here I watched Masked Singer at home and thought it looked like such a good time, but it's been so much more. Becoming Boogie has brought tons of joy. It's also unlocked so many emotions. Back when I was just getting started, I was doing the starving artist hustle. I practiced in my tiny apartment performing for no one, telling my family, 'Don't give up on me. I've got this.' Until one day, I got a knock at the door and a neighbor told me, 'Your voice sucks. Give up the dream.' Their words hit me hard. They pierced my positivity, but I refused to let them stop me. Now that I'm a dad, I would give anything to protect my kids from rejection, but I've realized that a big part of life is learning how to push through the pain. There's always beauty on the other side. You find yourself where you're meant to be — like here tonight! If I can win that Golden Mask trophy, it will be the ultimate sign for my kids that no dream is ever worth giving up on." Boogie Woogie sang "Freedom! '90" by George Michael before receiving a surprise phone call from his daughter. Boogie Woogie responded, "That was my little booger! I love my daughters and I want to show them that positivity and sincerity can win." The panelists' then reviewed their guesses for the season including Neil Patrick Harris, Criss Angel, Andy Samberg, Ryan Tedder, Darren Criss, Ed Sheeran, and Charlie Puth. Mad Scientist Monster Mad Scientist Monster gave the fourth and final performance before the audience vote, but first shared what this journey has meant to him: "To be honest, this music thing was sort of a happy, crazy accident. I had always thought I'd be an athlete, and when that wasn't the case, I was lost. My dad was the one who motivated me — and he encouraged me to go the unconventional route. Wow, am I glad I did! Watching him see my success with so much joy over the years is why I keep going. When my group parted ways, he's the one who gave me the strength to know I could go out on my own. Being here has been a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reintroduce myself to the world. The warm response has been validating and intoxicating. It's made me think going solo is the right choice after all. Making it to the finale, I'm more encouraged than ever that I'm on the right path. I'll always be grateful to Masked Singer for giving me this chance to shine on my own. Regardless, this grand experiment has been a success." Mad Scientist Monster sang "Stay" by Sugarland before receiving a surprise phone call from his mom and dad. Mad Scientist Monster responded, "My parents literally mean everything to me. I'm very blessed. They've been there every step of my life. I'm feeling the love up here." The panelists' then reviewed their guesses for the season including Tim McGraw, Jelly Roll, Sam Hunt, Brian Kelley, Trace Adkins, John Rich, Big Kenny, Gary LeVox, and Billy Ray Cyrus. Fourth Place After the audience vote, the masked singer in fourth place is Mad Scientist Monster. Before he revealed himself, the panelists got to open up a "Crack the Case" clue case. Mad Scientist's case held a golden fish necklace. He said, "It represents a lot to me. I love the outdoors, I grew up on and near the waters, and I love fishing with my dad still to this day." The panelists then submitted their final guesses: Sam Hunt (Rita), Trace Adkins (Robin), Brian Kelley (Jenny), and Kane Brown (Ken). Mad Scientist Monster then pulled off his mask and revealed himself as Grammy-nominated country singer from Florida Georgia Line, Brian Kelley! That's another point on the board for Jenny! Third Place The singer finishing in third place is Coral. Before she revealed herself, the panelists got to open up a "Crack the Case" clue case. Coral's case held a cheerleader outfit. She said, "This uniform changed my life and gave me the ability to chase my dreams. Now, people cheer for me!" The panelists then submitted their final guesses: Meg Donnelly (Rita), Hailee Steinfeld (Jenny), Brittany Snow (Robin), and Peyton List (Ken). Coral then pulled off her mask and revealed herself as Zombies star Meg Donnelly! That's another point for Rita toward the Golden Ear trophy. Final Showdown Prior to the final vote, Boogie Woogie and Pearl had one more chance to make a final impression. Boogie Woogie sang "Love the Hell Out of You" by Lewis Capaldi and Pearl belted out "I'll Stand By You" by The Pretenders. Next, the audience chose their favorite and Nick crowned a winner ... Runner-up The singer finishing in second place is Boogie Woogie. Before he revealed himself, the panelists got to open up a "Crack the Case" clue case. Boogie Woogie's case held a pink ribbon. He responded, "I lost my mom to breast cancer so I do a lot of work to raise money and awareness for breast cancer." The panelists then submitted their final guesses: Ryan Tedder (Jenny), Daniel Powter (Robin), Ed Sheeran (Ken), and Darren Criss (Rita). When Boogie took it off for America, he was revealed as the positive pop hitmaker, Andy Grammer! He stumped the panel. Winner The Season 13 champ and winner of the Golden Mask trophy is Pearl! But before she revealed herself, the panelists opened up the final "Crack the Case" clue case. Pearl's case held a pair of pants with a tag that reads, "To Pearl From Dolly." Pearl responded, "It's a pair of pants for the record books. Not only did my idol, Dolly Parton, give them to me, but I also got to perform with her while I was wearing them." The panelists then submitted their final guesses: Ann Wilson (Ken), Natalie Maines (Rita), Trisha Yearwood (Jenny), and Gretchen Wilson (Robin). When Pearl finally pulled off that shiny head of hers, she was revealed as Grammy-winning country superstar Gretchen Wilson! Robin pulled one out of the hat right at the end. The Golden Ear Trophy The co-winners of this season's Golden Ear trophy — with five correct guesses each — are Robin and Jenny. Generate Key Takeaways The Masked Singer's catchphrase is "take it off," and now it's doing just that for Fall 2025. Fox's reality TV show usually produces two cycles per calendar year, but after host Nick Cannon announces the Season 13 winner on Wednesday night, viewers won't see any new episodes until January 2026. So, why is the hit series taking a longer-than-ever break? More from GoldDerby "Among Fox's most enduring signature shows is The Masked Singer with a truly devoted fanbase," said the network. "This juggernaut will return next year for Season 14 as it takes midseason by storm with a spectacular, super-charged new season." Per Variety, Fox is calling this "a strategic move to give ample runway for America's favorite guessing game and allow us to creatively look at enhancing the show with the biggest names at the center of it." The Masked Singer has debuted a new season in September every year since 2019, with its second installment. The first season debuted on Jan. 2, 2019, and became an instant hit, as panelists Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Nicole Scherzinger, and Robin Thicke tried to guess which famous names were hiding underneath the extravagant masks. Rita Ora joined the panel in Season 12 when Scherzinger left to do the stage play Sunset Boulevard; she was just nominated for a Tony Award for that performance. To Fox's point about including more of "the biggest names" in entertainment, we'd like to remind viewers that the show has already unmasked some of the most famous faces in Hollywood over the past seven years and 13 seasons. Kevin Hart as Book, Demi Lovato as Anonymouse, Vanessa Hudgens as Goldfish, Lil Wayne as Robot, Caitlyn Jenner as Phoenix, Busta Rhymes as Dragon, Bob Saget as Squiggly Monster, and Patti LaBelle as Flower are just some of the eye-popping celebrities that have graced the stage. As of this writing, the final four contestants in the running to win Season 13 are Boogie Woogie, Coral, Mad Scientist Monster, and Pearl. Click each link to see who Gold Derby thinks is hiding behind each of those masks. The Masked Singer continues to be a ratings behemoth for Fox, ranking among the Top 10 unscripted entertainment programs in each of the seasons it has aired (in adults 18-49 live+7, 19/20-24/25 to date). The show is a nine-time Emmy nominee, and a two-time winner for Best Reality Costumes (2021 and 2020).
