Eagles' roster overhaul between two Super Bowl titles is an NFL rarity
NEW ORLEANS — Seven years after Doug Pederson and Nick Foles delivered Philadelphia its first Super Bowl title , Nick Sirianni and Jalen Hurts did it again with a 40-22 win over Kansas City in Super Bowl 59. Winning multiple titles in that short a time period is far from rare in the NFL, with the league often dominated by transcendent coach-quarterback combinations.

There must be something about the Super Bowl and Nick Foles always knowing how to execute something to perfection. The quarterback who led the Eagles to victory over Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII thanks for the Philly Special was back at it on Sunday. After the Eagles clobbered the Chiefs, 40-22, in the Superdome, with Brady as FOX Sports' lead analyst, Foles took to social media and nailed the GOAT with a perfectly placed zing. It's really cool that Tom Brady got to be there for the Eagles' two Super Bowl wins! He might be a good luck charm. Nick Foles outside of the Philadelphia Eagles was a journeyman quarterback capable of being a useful backup and little else. Nick Foles as a Philadelphia Eagle, however, was a supernova lighting up the night sky in a series of explosive bursts. Foles was Super Bowl 52 MVP after a legendary performance that saw him rise up in Carson Wentz's stead and lead the Eagles to their first Super Bowl win, out-dueling seven-time world champion Tom Brady in the process. With Brady in the booth doing color commentary for Fox (and adding insight like suggesting the Chiefs wanted to stop the Eagles from scoring in order to win), Foles took Philadelphia's second Super Bowl victory as an opportunity to needle his former, brief rival once more. The Eagles are 2-1 with Brady in the house in the Super Bowl, having lost to him 20 years earlier. While that's hardly enough data to determine a trend, it's worth monitoring. And worth remembering that, for one night, Nick Foles was better than the greatest quarterback in NFL history.

How many Super Bowls have the Philadelphia Eagles won?
It took the Philadelphia Eagles 52 years to win their first Super Bowl. It didn't take them nearly as long to win their second, although it did take two tries. Seven years after the organization's first Super Bowl championship, the Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX 40-22 on Sunday at the Superdome in New Orleans. It was their second win in five Super Bowl appearances. The first two were losses — 27-10 to the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl XV following the 1980 season and 24-21 to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXIX following the 2004 season. Then came Super Bowl LII following the 2017 season. The Eagles were led by quarterback Nick Foles, who was a backup at the start of the season before stepping in for the injured Carson Wentz in Week 14. Their opponents were the defending champion Patriots, who were seeking their sixth Super Bowl title behind quarterback Tom Brady and coach Bill Belichick. Brady completed 28 of 48 passes for a Super Bowl-record 505 yards and three touchdowns, but it wasn't enough. Foles was named the game's MVP after he passed for 373 yards and three touchdowns and also caught a touchdown pass as the Eagles defeated New England 41-33. The Eagles returned for Super Bowl LVII following the 2022 season, this time with Jalen Hurts as their quarterback. Hurts accounted for three touchdowns and a two-point conversion, but a last-second field goal lifted the Chiefs to a 38-35 win, with quarterback Patrick Mahomes being named MVP. Two years later, the Eagles avenged that loss to the Chiefs at Super Bowl LIX.
