Update On Tottenham Hotspur And Their Pursuit Of This Serie A Playmaker: Should Spurs Go Back For Him?
In a recent report, Calciomercato offered an update on Tottenham Hotspur and their pursuit of Como playmaker Nico Paz. It has been revealed that Spurs have seen their €40m bid get turned down by the Italian club and would have to pay their €70m asking price if they want to sign the Argentine attacker this summer. Paz's Impressive Run Of Form In Italian Football Paz enjoyed a decent campaign at the Italian club recently as he managed to put in a handful of promising displays for them in the final third. The 20-year-old registered six goals and secured nine assists in 35 matches for Como last season on all fronts. The talented youngster caught the eye with his contributions in the opponent's half as he averaged 3.65 shots per 90 minutes in Serie A football. He kept 33.9% of his attempts on target. The 20-year-old was tidy when distributing the ball after making 80.6% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via His current contract at the Italian club will run out in the summer of 2028. Hence, Tottenham would have no choice but to meet Como's demands if they want to recruit Paz this off-season. (Photo by) Should Tottenham Hotspur Go Back For Paz? Paz can shoot the ball with power from long range and has got the vision to engineer a few decent chances for his teammates in the final third. He is an energetic runner with the ball at his feet and can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top. The Argentine sensation is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also play as a box-to-box midfielder or as a centre-forward if asked to do so. However, only time will tell whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League. We can expect Paz to add more firepower to Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank's attack. He is good enough to compete for a regular first-team spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the coming years. At 20, Paz has got a bright future ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for Spurs to consider in this transfer window. Therefore, the North London club would be wise to go back in with another offer for him as he would be a great replacement for James Maddison, who suffered a serious injury during pre-season.

Report – Real Madrid Hold Control Over Inter Milan Target's Future Until August 2027
Real Madrid have control over the future of Inter Milan-linked Como midfielder Nico Paz until August of 2027. This according to Spanish outlet Marca, via FCInterNews. The Lariani officially announce, via FCInterNews, that the Argentine will not be rejoining Los Blancos this summer. Inter Milan have been following midfielder Nico Paz closely for months now. The 20-year-old was one of the outstanding players in Serie A last season. He well and truly hit the ground running in his first season at Como after arriving from Real Madrid. Therefore, Inter have long viewed Paz as a dream signing. When the Spanish giants sold Paz to Como last summer, they included such an option. Therefore, Inter or any other interested club could not simply negotiate with Como. They would have to wait and see what Real Madrid would do. However, Los Blancos did not buy Nico Paz back from Como this summer. However, Real Madrid continue to see Paz as a potential future first team player. Xabi Alonso, coach of the Spanish giants, will assess the Argentine. However, for now he and the club hierarchy feel that the best place for Paz is back at Como for another season. Nevertheless, Real's buyback option runs until the end of August of 2027.

Lionel Messi didn't hold back on attitude of Tottenham's James Maddison replacement option
Tottenham are reportedly considering a move for Como playmaker Nico Paz, who has previously been praised by Lionel Messi for his incredible mentality on the pitch Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly targeting a swoop for Nico Paz, a promising youngster who previously caught Lionel Messi 's eye with his exceptional attitude. Spurs' pursuit of Paz has intensified after Thomas Frank has been forced to explore the transfer market following James Maddison's ACL setback during pre-season. The injury threatens to rule the England midfielder out for the majority of the 2025/2026 season. Frank is understood to be seeking a new number 10 and Paz turned heads after claiming Serie A 's Young Player of the Year accolade for the 2024/25 campaign, registering 14 goal contributions under Cesc Fabregas at Como. His display on his senior debut for Argentina, where he set up Messi during a commanding 6-0 triumph over Bolivia, also earned glowing reviews from the footballing icon. "Nico Paz has an incredible mindset, and that's why he's where he is," Messi said. "Nico has a lot of quality and understands the game perfectly. He has an incredible mindset, and he's with Cesc Fabregas as coach who is my friend and will help him grow a lot." While The Athletic suggests that Tottenham have yet to submit an official bid for Paz, Italian outlets claim that Como have rejected a £35m approach from Frank's side. The club are believed to be holding out for approximately £60m to part ways with the 20-year-old. Paz's journey with Como began when he joined from Real Madrid in 2024 for a fee of £5.2m, playing a crucial role in the Italian side's impressive 10th-place finish in Serie A. However, Spurs may find it tricky to bring Paz to north London. Como are said to be standing firm on any potential sale, and there's the added complication of a 50% sell-on clause held by Real. The Athletic reports that while they chose not to activate a £6.9m buy-back option for Paz this year, they still have an £8m clause for 2026 and a £9m clause for 2027, along with the right to match any offer at any time. Maddison's injury occurred in Spurs' pre-season clash with Newcastle United in South Korea. He went down after an incident away from the ball and had to be stretchered off the field by medical staff. Frank admitted his concern after the game that Maddison could miss a huge chunk of the season, months after injuring the same knee in the previous campaign, with his worst fears later confirmed. Spurs were already on the hunt for a new number 10, having attempted to lure Morgan Gibbs-White away from Nottingham Forest before the England international penned a new deal with his club. With Son Heung-min's departure and Dejan Kulusevski also sidelined due to injury, Paz could become a prime target in the coming weeks.

Tottenham turned down in pursuit of Nico Paz
Tottenham turned down in pursuit of Nico Paz According to Sky Sport Italia, Tottenham have been rebuffed in their initial attempt to sign Nico Paz, the 20-year-old attacking midfielder currently shining at Como. With James Maddison sidelined due to a cruciate ligament rupture and set to miss much of the 2025-2026 season, Spurs have launched a search for a replacement. Their hunt has led them to Serie A, where the young Argentine has been making waves with Como. Sky Sport Italia also reports that the London club submitted a €40 million offer (around 445 million Swedish kronor), which was swiftly rejected by the Italian side. Como's management value Nico Paz at nearly €70 million and are demanding at least €60 million before even considering negotiations. After racking up 6 goals and 9 assists in 35 Serie A appearances last season, Nico Paz has naturally caught the attention of several clubs. But Tottenham will have to significantly increase their offer if they hope to persuade Como to part with their prized asset.
