Kirsten Storms Out, Reveals GH Status After Announcing Her Move To Nashville
Kirsten Storms is addressing her General Hospital status after shocking fans with the news that she's moving from Los Angeles to Nashville. Goin' Country In a video posted to Instagram Monday night, Storms, who recently celebrated her 20th anniversary as Maxie on GH, announced to her followers that she's made a big move. 'I'm very excited to be making Tennessee my home!' Storms captioned the post, which received hundreds of comments within minutes. Throughout the video, Storms explained the process of moving while wanting to stay on GH. Referring to executive producer Frank Valentini, Storms said, 'I had a conversation for him about my reasons for wanting to move… and my desire to not leave the show.' The actress noted that many jobs like hers wouldn't consent to a move and would most likely let the actor out of their contract, 'but GH did not do that, which was kind of amazing.' Storms also revealed she asked for time off from GH to settle into her new home, and most likely wouldn't return for the rest of the year. 'The week before last week, I had my final taping day for the year,' she announced, noting the earliest she may return would be November or December. Storms was recently temporarily recast with Nicole Paggi, who also filled in for Storms in 2023. Kristen Storms (Maxie) dropped the bombshell that she's taking a step back from General Hospital for a while. As Parade reported, the actress revealed that she's leaving Los Angeles and has wrapped filming the ABC soap for the year. The news comes after Nicole Paggi was temporarily cast as Maxie on General Hospital. Storms confirmed she would be the one playing Maxie for her exit storyline, which will play out later this Hospital fans flooded Storms' Instagram post after she announced her departure, and there was nothing but love for the actress. 'I just want to say I love YOU, Kirsten, so much!! ❤️ Take care of you and your girl!' said a fan. One fan kept it simple writing, 'Do you boo.' Another fan had more to say to the soap star, stating, 'Kristen go live your best life, no matter what you say, or how you say it. Some negative person is going to try to tell you what to do, and how to do it. We Love You and respect your decisions. That is no one else's business but yours. We will be waiting for your return whenever you decide to return. These entitled people are too much.' 'I am so glad that you are not leaving the show. General Hospital fans made it clear that Storms will be 'missed' as Maxie. 'You will be missed. But ENJOY your life!!!!!❤️' and 'We're going to miss you. 😢' were a couple of those comments. There's no question that Storms is the only Maxie for fans, and they let the actress know just that. 'Nobody does Maxie like you! Congratulations on the move and please come back,' said one fan. Another fan expressed, 'Best of luck, Kirsten! You will be missed. There's only one person who could play Maxie. Looking forward to your return in the future.' A different fan declared, 'Oh that's great. Congratulations on your move but if they're really gonna bring Nathan back, I can't have a substitute Maxi. It's just wrong. I need real maxi and real Nathan back together not the substitute. Lol.' That comment refers to Ryan Paevey recently getting fans hyped up about a possible return to the ABC soap. Kirsten Storms Was ‘Taken Aback' When She Learned She'd Be Temporarily Replaced on ‘General Hospital'
Kirsten Storms is opening up about what it was like to be temporarily replaced in her long-running 'General Hospital' role. Storms, who has played Maxie on the historic soap opera since May 2005, was recently replaced temporarily by Nicole Paggi due to scheduling conflicts. In a recent sit-down with Soap Opera Digest, Storms said that she was at first surprised to hear that she'd be tagged out of the role during her absence, but was glad that someone would be there to keep her storyline going. I was very excited just to know that she was still going to be in Port Charles and doing lots of things.' This isn't the first time that another actress has subbed in to play Maxie. Jen Lilley stepped in to play the role in September 2011 when Storms was forced to take medical leave after being diagnosed with endometriosis. Storms returned to the show a year later. This also isn't the first time Paggi stepped in to play Maxie. She played the role in December 2023. 'General Hospital' Stuns Viewers With Recast of Beloved Character originally appeared on Parade. General Hospital fans were caught off guard when Maxie Jones looked noticeably different on the July 3 episode of their favorite soap opera. According to Soap Opera Digest actress Nicole Paggi is temporarily filling in for Kirsten Storms. The latest recast was due to scheduling conflicts preventing Storms from filming the episodes, requiring the soap to recast. According to TV Insider, Paggi will appear again as Maxie for two additional episodes on July 30 and August 13. Storms is expected to return on air with episodes airing the week of August 18. This is not the first time that the role has been temporarily recast since Storms assumed the role in 2005. Jen Lilley took over the role from September 2011 until August 2012. The role was recast again temporarily with Molly Burnett in 2016 and again in 2018. Paggi then stepped into the role to cover for Storms in episodes that aired in 2023 and 2024. Nicole Paggi has been recast as Maxie in place of Kirsten Storms in General Hospital. The 41-year-old is known for her role in Pasadena, Hope & Faith, One on One, Cielito Lindo, Girls Talk, and many more. No, Kirsten Storms has not left General Hospital permanently. Paggi has temporarily taken over Storms's role on the show due to the latter's scheduling conflicts. This is not the first time Storms has been temporarily replaced in General Hospital. In 2011, she took a medical leave from the show due to her battle with endometriosis. During her absence, Jen Lilley was roped in to play Maxie Jones. Further, in 2016, Storms was replaced by Molly Burnett as the former needed time to recover from skin issues. Burnett reprised the role in 2018 for a brief while when Storms was down with the flu. In 2021, Storms took another medical break after she underwent brain surgery. At that time, Maxie's character was sent on a long trip to Texas to accommodate the leave. Nicole Paggi was last seen as Maxie in December 2023 to fill in for Storm's absence.
